That said, the service managers are always pleasant and happy to walk me through what work is needed. The services are consistently handled thoroughly and professionally, which gives me real peace of mind.

But my last exerience was one that I cannot help but be infuratied by. I had an issue where my 2012 Highlander AC went out in July and it was $2700.00 to fix. So I agreed and they did the work. When I took the car in the heater worked fine and prior to the AC going out the temperature control worked without any issues. They "fixed" the AC and it blew ice cold which was great for July. I noticed immediately that you couldn't regulate the temperature at all but life was busy and in hindsight I should have turned right around and took it back in. Fast forward two months when I had a blowout, I took it back in and alerted them to the issue's (no temp control and heater is out). They mulled it over and said it was a completely different issue and wanted another $2700. If they had test run the system after "fixing" the AC, they would have noticed something was off. Or maybe they did and just pushed it out anyways? They claim to warrenty their work but that didn't hold up here either. No attempt whatsoever to meet me in the middle. Nothing except a "sorry, completely different issue so another $2700.00". Not a good look Rob'e Man's.

Later I realized it seemed like he was dealing with being short staffed or something. I say this because typically the person who is "up top" doesn't go "down" to drain oil. This made me a little sympathetic. Fast forward to him telling me how much it was, paying, and then looking at sheet where it says "so and so" checked, such as air filter & windshield wiper it SAID "OK" but nothing was checked, period. Drain oil, put more in & show dip stick & right left reverse lights BYE. Called manager & he never apologized... said to come back & he would check it. No I'm not coming back over 30 mins away, I stopped in after visiting my Mother & went to the first Express I saw. I shouldn't have to come back in the first place. It isn't my job to call you out on what you didn't do.

I managed to get it jumped off the night before and parked the car at this location. I returned this morning with my wife, explained the problem to the manager, and gave him my keys. My wife and I then crossed the street to Over Easy for breakfast. I returned to find that he had not replaced the battery. Instead, he realized that my battery was still under warranty at the Honda dealership down the road, and recommended I go there instead. After all, a free replacement battery is better than paying for one, right? Mind you, it would have been more profitable for Express Oil Change to have just replaced the old battery and rung up a sale on a new one. Instead, these guys were honest, just like every other EOC I've patronized. So props to you guys for the stellar, across-the-board training of your employees, who always seem to know the right thing to do.

The young man that took my information was told that I needed brakes, shocks, and flushing of all fluids which would cost well over a thousand dollars. I refused and said just fix the mount please. It was about 20 min later, the manager came over and said that I needed brakes and the shocks were all 90% gone front and back. I refused again and said just fix the mount. The 3rd time, the manager took me to the service department. The mechanic had all the wheels off, and the manager then said, "Legally maam I have to show you the brakes and that you badly need brakes. I cannot be legally liable if you get in an accident." He scared me so bad, that I said just do the front ones. He said he would take $100 off if I had all of them done. I said ok if it's really that bad. He then gave me a bill of $900.00 with an itemized list of all the things wrong with this car. I then took my car to another establishment to see if in fact I do need shocks. The new establishment (Mr. Carburetor) on Pipken, said absolutely not. Your shocks are fine. Does Mavis in Lakeland do this to everyone that is a senior. Scare them to death to do mechanical work? You lost a customer in me.
