As much as I truly enjoyed my previous experience here, I find it hard to continue supporting this business and here is why. Upon entering, there is a sign on the door saying masks and physical distancing are criteria to entering the store, yet when I *almost* walked in tonight, I could see they are clearly not enforcing the so-called mask policy. I'm not suggesting to refuse customers service, but maybe offer an alternative (I.e. bringing drinks out to curb side, etc.) instead of allowing maskless customers in.
I understand small businesses are hurting during these trying times but there are better ways to handle customers who insist they have medical exemptions to mask etiquette, instead of allowing them into the store and potentially infecting other customers/staff. Why place a sign on the door if these rules will not be enforced? I realize this is not always a scenario that may be handled easily, but I'd appreciate it if the COVID-19 protocols were taken more seriously. I did not end up getting drinks like I had originally planned and unfortunately, I will not be returning for a long time. I've edited my rating here because I do believe following sanitation/health protocols is a crucial factor in running a food business.
What a cute little spot! From the brightly coloured walls to the fun variety of drinks to the really nice staff, I would definitely come back. Honestly when we go out for tea it's usually just at the Alley but this place definitely puts a cool twist on drinks. It's Taiwanese with a bit of a Japanese touch. We always see lines wrapping around the building so we wondered what the hype was about. I probably wouldn't wait in that long line but we went later in the evening and it wasn't busy at all.
I ordered #1 on their Favourites list - the black milk tea creme brûlée. This was absolutely delish. You're supposed to taste the top layer (creme brûlée), which is actually torched, and this is so good. Then you mix it into the milk tea and drink the rest. I added the golden pearls too. I would 100% come back for this because it was DOPE!
We also had the red bean matcha smoothie - if you're a matcha lover I would try this! Golden pearl at the bottom, matcha smoothie, a layer of creme brûlée creme, and 3 mochi balls to dip into the creme. This drink was more expensive but a cool one to try.
If you're looking to try something new, I definitely recommend this place. read more
