My phone was absolutely broken and these guys were a big help in fixing it. It was a short interaction but they were very nice and understanding. You can tell they get yelled at by people a lot as they were really worried when they told me how much it would cost, it's Apple what do you expect. read more

100% scam and ruder than hell to boot. I discovered on my own after leaving that the cable to plug into the machine needed replacement -- a fix for less than $10. But MacEdge said I needed a $300+ repair because connectors to the machine were "corroded." Two different guys actually put on a jeweler's loupe to look at connector and tell me this bogus diagnosis! Not for nothing do these guys have so many 1-star reviews. Wish I'd read them in advance. Stay away. read more

Great, friendly people, great service. I've now used MacEdge three times in the past 12 months, once for a large (to me) large problem, and two small ones that nonetheless had this technological moron baffled. Each time, I was treated very well, and the problems were resolved quickly and inexpensively. That's completely different from my experience at another local repair shop. Highly recommended, and with pleasure. read more

Everyone at MacEdge is amazing. It's so convenient not to have to go to an Apple Store when things go wrong. Huge shout out to Katie who fixed the issue we were having with our MacBook. Highly recommend Katie or any of the staff. read more

Went to this place last year and they were ok until I asked for my old computer back and they said did not know I wanted it back .Waited 35 min for them to put it back together?? Stay away from these guys. They are very expensive. Take the trip to Portland to Apple. read more

I won't go back to MacEdge. They're a retail space that you can only visit by appointment. I made an appointment to have them look at my old iPad. I didn't know if I should replace the battery or should get a new one. The greeting when I walked in the door was, "Do you have an appointment?" No, hello. No, how can we help you? The service person I dealt with had zero people skills. After I explain my situation, she said "You should have used the iPad portal to book the appointment, but I guess I could look at it." And the visit went downhill from there. I was ready to by a new iPad because it wasn't worth doing the battery and that seemed to be a problem, too. Finally, I just left. read more

Was having iPhone issues so I went to MacEdge. They are wizards, not kidding. Thank you for the quick fix MacEdge!

Until I met the people at MacEdge, I lost all kinds of time with laptop issues. I have to say this is one of my favorite places on the planet because of the incredible service, starting with Anthony, who is just an incredibly cool guy, with a great skill set and a wonderful ability to connect with customers. I can't say enough good about him, because he really sets the tone as to why this place is a huge success. From there, EVERY SINGLE technician I met was utterly and equally wonderful, and when it recently came time to replacing my laptop, I didn't even consider looking anywhere else because I knew that I wouldn't get service elsewhere like I do here. Katie actually took care of the transfer of s/w to my new, sleek laptop and she couldn't have been nicer of done a better job. This business is a Godsend to small business owners - not to mention baby boomers who didn't grow up with this knowledge and have had to learn most of this on their own, and who have a few "gaps" in their understanding that MacEdge people kindly fill in. I wish I could give them a ten star rating above. I can't say enough good about the people who work here, or the people who conceptualized this service. THANK YOU! Barbara Collins read more

They saved my older MacBook Pro after I got an ominous system pop-up telling me the battery needed immediate servicing. They were prompt (just a few days for the part to come in and installation to be done, with helpful status updates emailed along the way), knowledgable, and saved me a lot of money in the process. Highly recommended. read more

My 5 year old MacBook Pro started having major issues basically rendering it unusable. After opening the 3rd or 4th Safari tab it would hang requiring a reboot and at times a Force Quit. I've been in software for 24 years and feel I'm qualified to express an opinion for technical support. At first, I thought it was my WiFi internet speed. I upgraded to Xfinity X1 Triple Play. After the upgrade, I constantly get 600 to 700 Mbps download. Yet, the MacBook still hung. Off to MacEdge in Portsmouth I went where I had the good fortune to meet Joel! I described the symptoms and he was able in short order to replicate the problem. We both agreed it was either hardware or software. On the spot, I purchased a new 15" MacBook 2.3 GHz Intel Core i9 the fastest he had. I left it overnight for Joel to port the settings and data. The next day I brought it home and much to my dismay, it did the same thing. I brought it back to Joel. We agreed the issue was software or a configuration setting. He informed me Mac's create two separate pools for configurations. One for documents and one for OS/User settings. He backed up the new MacBook, wiped it clean and the reinstalled Mojave. Then he created a test running streaming media from 7 Safari tabs that never blinked for hours. He then copied back down my documents and ran the test again which was successful. That told him there was a bad user setting. Therefore, he manually configured the basic user settings I needed by hand. Again, the streaming test was a success. I couldn't be happier with Joel's troubleshooting skills and persistence to get to the root cause of the problem. I absolutely love my new MacBook Pro. The Retina display is stunning and the device screams performance wise. If you have a Mac problem, you'd be a fool to take it anywhere else other than MacEdge in Portsmouth. They are using covid as an excuse to not take care of customers. Instead of improving customer experience, they are destroying it.

We stopped by without an appointment and were immediately greeted by an associate offering to help. Our son's iPhone had been apparently hacked, it took them a few minutes to resolve the issue and show him how to fix it, should it happen again in the future. They didn't even charge us! I would come back again and again, they were knowledgeable, patient and provided great customer service to an "anxious" teenager who thought had lost his phone to the cyber ghosts for the rest of the summer! Thank you for solving the issue and teaching us to solve it in the future. read more

These people are sincerely interested in helping you with your technology issues. Bo (I think?) helped me out here yesterday when I needed to figure out whether I needed a new plug, battery, or computer. Luckily, all I needed was a new plug. When I couldn't figure out the software update, I called up the store and he remembered me. Although I had technically figured it out on my own, Bo confirmed that for me, and I love it when folks remember who you are... that's great customer service. If I had the money to buy a new macbook right now, I'd totally buy it from these guys. Keep up the good work fellas. read more

Servic is hit or miss, depnding on who you gt at the counter. I was just ther to ask to gt a sticky key cleaned (guss which on) and their solution was "rplace th keyboard." Thy hardly botherd to look up from what they were doing. But, rewind to a coupl months ago. I had another sticky ky. I popped it off, swabbed it with som rubbing alcohol, and had trouble gtting the key back on. I brought it over to thm, and thy were very helpful to get it back on and working again. Worked like a charm, without having to rplace the whol bloody keyboard. I guess that's going to be th plan. But I suppos thr are plenty of othr shops that wouldn't mind popping a key back in plac. read more

I took my laptop here to trouble shoot and fix a problem after Apple referred me in their direction, since they are the only store close by. They charged me $209 for pushing a button on my screen and charging me to replace the ram. All something i could have done if instructed. Not only that but when i picked up my laptop there was a giant circular scratch on my laptop cover that i had just bought and placed on my laptop. When i asked about it the man helping me asked if it was there before. When i told him no he just bluntly said "Well thats what those are there for..." I have had Apple products since 2006 and lived in 5 different city's in 5 different states and this store is by far the worst representation of Apple or customer care i have every seen in my life. read more

Joel helped me out of a "black screen of death" issue with my MacBook Pro and an iPhone lock-out that happened on the same day, and he gave me instructions on how to get back in action. He allowed me to work on it there at the store so I could ask him a question if I got stuck. The store was crowded and it was just before Christmas, so I had to wait a while for my turn. Still, it was much easier than driving to the nearest Apple store and waiting there. The MacEdge guys stayed calm, friendly, and helpful despite the line and the pressure of everyone else's stress. Most importantly, they solved the Mac problems I was having and gave me excellent advice on protecting my data and settings while my MacBook is near the end of it's expected life. MacEdge was recommended to me by a colleague, and now I recommend them also. I'm so glad to have MacEdge to consult locally on Mac issues! read more

I was in the store yesterday. Two rudest men I've ever encountered in retail. Hopefully they are not the owners and their boss boots them. I watched the guy servicing my phone shout at a older woman for bringing back a newly purchased iPad that had an issue. Poor lady has to drive back because of their junk product and you have the nerve. Grossly incompetent, stay away from this store read more

The people at this place are incredibly helpful! I've been there twice in the past couple of months for advice on my MacBook Air and they've taken the time to sit with me and figure it out, offering me valid advice and never charging me anything. I highly recommend and trust this place! read more

Save your money. This place is awful. Took my MacBook Pro in for repair- slow starting up and a weak battery. They handed me back my laptop having cleared the contents and put all data on an external drive. Since my bill was already almost $250 I asked "how much to fix the thing so I can actually use it." Their response "$99." I now have to take my laptop to Salem NH, a real Apple Store and ask them to start all over. Save your money and avoid MacEdge. read more

Friendly and efficient service! I scheduled an appointment through the website and arrived at the specified time. I was helped immediately and my problem was resolved within 15 minutes. Service fees were extremely reasonable! I highly recommend MacEdge. read more

I came in with a MacBook Pro that had a cursor moving on its own. They diagnosed it right in front of me and pointed out a few things wrong with the computer but let me choose which ones to fix. They explained everything in detail such as possible reasons why the cursor moved on its own and checked for each one while I was watching them do the tests. They then quoted me 3-5 business days (fair enough, they need to get the parts from Apple), so I was pleasantly surprised when the very next day it was ready. I'm now typing this review on said computer with a working trackpad. They charged a $139 flat fee for labor plus whatever for parts, and even removed adware they found for free! I will be coming back if my Apple products stop working properly again. read more

These guys are barely average. I always try to give the local businesses my money first, and these guys get a lot of it, but they don't deserve it. We just don't have many options for Apple sales in this area. Their service is lackluster, and they seem to have a constant attitude. read more

MacEdge is essentially an independently owned Apple store. They've got Macs but no iPhones. They know a lot but don't have everything imaginable in stock. It was time for a new computer and I've had enough of Windows, so I went. They had everything I wanted and it all went smoothly, so I couldn't ask for more. I'll be back. read more

Anthony is truly amazing. I hope he gets compensated well because every time I come in this store, he magically solves all of my problems.

We just moved to the area from out of state and did not know who to bring my rather complicated computer issues to, so I took a chance and went to MacEdge. I am so glad I did! The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and were willing to go above and beyond to help me with this complicated issue involving extra paperwork for insurance claims. I am so grateful for their help and extra time they spent to make sure I had exactly what I needed. On top of that, they helped me into a fantastic replacement iMac that I am completely thrilled with. I recommend this place to anyone and won't go anywhere else! read more

Thank you, Dylan! I have been collecting a list of MacBook Air frustrations that were making me slightly crazy, due to my own lack of understanding. I decided to take advantage of a 30 minute one on one session and walked out having made friends with my computer once again! I did not have a great experience trying get a MacBook repaired through coordination with apple support. Do not bring your business to this place! Although recommended on the Apple website, this place tried to scam me and make me pay $409 dollars for a new top case for my MacBook pro. I also had to pay an absurd service fee of $140. After being told that I had to pay $409 I took my computer back and went to the Apple store in Salem where they fixed my computer in 20 minutes for free. The wire that connected the keyboard to the rest of the computer just needed to be reset. The top case was fine. MacEdge lied to me and tried to get a poor, unsuspecting customer to pay for an unnecessary replacement. read more

The mac store in Portsmouth on lafayette road charged 400.00 to fix my hard drive. They are SO overpriced , and when went to pick up my computer i waited for 25 minutes or more, finally i tried to pay with my step dad's credit card, the store clerk refused payment and kept my coputer for 2.5 more weeksuntil my step dad got bak from Cambodia. The store clerk said i could talk to the manager and i said id like to, then he said "He's not here right now". I understand taking pre cautions but ive worked in many stores and have used my judgement as far as accepting payment, and i'm not the "sketchy' type of person who is going to use someones card without being authroized. Terrible experience with computer repair. Took in iMac for a simple hard drive swap on a Wednesday. Told it took 3 days, so I could definitely get it back Monday. Called Monday, was told they'd call me Tuesday when it was ready. Heard nothing Tuesday. Called Wednesday, was told part was on order. Asked when it would be ready, was told "maybe Thursday, maybe Friday, definitely by the following Monday." Asked to speak to manager, who told me he didn't think it was their job to contact customers whether would be delays. Nice people but why you no fix? I had a cracked glass iPad. They said it would be $300 to simply fix the glass. A full refurbishment is all they offer. And that they would wipe the iPad. Down the street I got the glass replaced in one day for $105. No fuss no muss. Why is it that the MAC STORE can't work on macs? You bring your car into the dealer and they can only replace it with a new car? No other options? The folks in the shop were great, don't get me wrong, I had a good time being told to go away. they kindly helped me to understand that I was up against a brick wall regarding fixing my glass. Well poop. I had to spend my $ across the way. read more
