With the increasing number of French patisseries here in the Philippines, Macarons have become arguably one of the most sought after sweet treats. At first, I wasn't really a fan of it. It reminded me of one episode of Spongebob when he tried to sell discolored burgers named "Pretty Patties" (look it up on the internet and you'll know what I'm talking about). But eventually I had to taste it, because a lot of my friends were talking about it and I don't want to feel left out (peer pressure sucks).
The first time I went to Macarose to try it, I was reluctant to buy one because it was a little bit pricey. One box of 6 Ganache-filled Macarons was sold at 270 pesos. To be honest, I would rather buy a box of J.Co Donuts. When I was able to taste one for the very first time, I finally realized why people like it so much. It's enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and unlike most desserts out there, it doesn't make you feel bloated after. Their Speculoos and Strawberry White Ganache is simply to die for. read more
