I'm giving 5 stars, but consider it 10! My Macbook was in bad shape and I felt helpless and the idea of going to the Grove to the genius bar made me break out into a cold sweat. That's when I hit yelp to find some help in the neighborhood and found the MAC SOS listing. Ryan now has a new lifetime customer in me, as he was super friendly and easy to talk to and got everything done I had been putting off for years! I spoke with Ryan on the phone before we arranged a time to work on my VERY old laptop. He told me what parts to order and then, today he worked on it and it's totally fixed! Huzzah! My 2009 "vintage" model MacBook will last me a few more years, which is all I've ever dreamed of, as I feel so wasteful getting a brand new one. I like to think Ryan helped reduce my carbon footprint. Going green people! Anyway, once he had repaired my ol' machine, he showed me all the new features and basically gave me a tutorial on how to best use my new souped up computer! He set up all the features/settings the I wanted them and synched it all up with my iPhone! It was very educational and eye opening. Yee Haw- Ryan of MAC SOS amazing skills strike again! I had already had him come to me for data recovery, which he successfully and patiently, and skillfully handled my wacked out hard drive and waved a magic wand and got all my data pix and music off of. Now I hired him for my transfer of all my data fro old Mac to new Mac. Ryan was at my house for 3 hours and transferred everything so I wouldn't get bugs on my new computer from my old one- definitely pay the $$ to have him do this. Then he transferred all of my data, organized my library of itunes, photos, and made sure all my programs were up and running. The guy is so so honest, helpful, easy to work with and knowledgable- PLEASE hire him and don't go to the Apple Store to have them set up your new MAC. I come from the old times when you had to physically send a computer to apple to get it fixed. Yes I know 1989 was a long time ago. So when it come to computers and service I am not a novice. I tried a few other places that I will not mention here but needless to say I have been less than pleased. I decided to go with an onsite repair specialist instead. I am so glad I did. Excellent service at your home with a reasonable price. I really like this service because he comes out to my home and fixes my mac apple computer in Los Angeles. Ryan was amazing!! He troubleshooted a ridiculous problem where my operating system crashed because of additional RAM that was installed on my macbook pro after i bought it. Not only did he fix my baby, but he gave it back to me in much better condition then before. He was able to save my data and he was kind enough to hook me up with the programs I had before the crash!! My life and business was back on track in one day. I needed to replace or rather upgrade my internal hard drive on my macbook pro. I know that installation can be expensive so I looked around a bit and landed on MAC SOS. Ryan was great. He always answered his phone and did the job in the exact time that he said he would. I was only without my computer for 24 hrs. He also was very easy to deal with and explained everything about the cloning and the new hard drive. Ryan was the best!! Taking my laptop to him was like taking it to a friend who knows a ton about computers. I needed a bigger hard drive installed on my laptop and I needed my info cloned on to the new hard drive. I'm not incredibly computer savvy but Ryan not only explained to me exactly what I needed, he let me know where I could get the new hard drive and and even looked up the sku # online so I got the right thing at the store. MAC SOS' Ryan Eisenman saved my business! My computer froze up and I tried everything i knew to get it back up. I could do nothing with my video. I was stumped and had a deadline to meet. I called Mac Sos on Sunday night and Ryan arrived Monday morning. Ryan is fantastic! Completely reliable, helpful and knowledgeable. Having no idea what was wrong with my Powerbook G4 I called him, explained the problem and drove down to drop off my computer. I thought it was my hard drive but he was not convinced! He ran the diagnostic and it turned out to be my keyboard that was not responsive but still opening window after window - making it look as if I had some major hard drive problems.
