Today I went to Mac Service to see Jerry Olsen. This is the second time I have taken my Mac computer to Jerry. I was more impressed with his service today than the first time I saw him. I called Jerry before I left for Spokane to ask if I could bring my computer to him. He said of course, and gave me a couple of times he had available this afternoon. We, my husband Patrick and I, took my computer to him around 3:00. Jerry had the problem diagnosed in no time. Not only did he ease my concern about the issue I went to see him about, we talked about keeping my files on a Time Machine and backup drive, how these drives worked and for how long, and other ways to keep files and photographs safe for years to come. Each time I asked a question he searched the computer until he found an answer, then made sure the computer was up and running splendidly. Jerry is brilliant with a computer, and a kind, outgoing, friendly, personable guy. What a combination! read more

Jerry gave some great advice on the phone when I called to find out about buying a used Mac for my kids, but I could not have been prepared for how brilliant and skillful he was after I drove my desktop to the brink of self-destruction. I am a writer, artist, and photographer, with most of my livelihood passing through my computer. I was in the midst of publishing a book and within a few days from my computer absolutely not responding, he returned to me a lightning fast computer and ALL OF MY DATA back, getting me back into business. He also took the time, and taught me an incredible amount about this machine. Not only is he fast, efficient and knowledgeable, he is also very charismatic and a joy to be around as he teaches about how to work better with your computer. Over the years, I've gone to Jerry for a variety of issues with my Macs. I don't see him often (thanks to Apple's relatively trouble free computers which I've owned since 1986) but when I do, he always gives me much more than just the "a fix" I request. I also get a head full of useful knowledge in the process! I called him this time for a software issue that he was familiar with but had not had occasion to deal with previously. He spent a couple hours delving into the hidden files on my computer and finding solutions online until he had the problem solved. The biggest fix, however, was Jerry's concern that my computer was extremely sluggish (a problem I thought I was stuck with. He suggested an easy and relatively inexpensive replacement of my drive that ended up making me feel like I had a new computer when he returned it to me. Jerry KNOWS Macs and he KNOWS software. Jerry spoke with me on Thursday afternoon and came in to see if my "obsolete iMAC" was salvageable. He was extraordinarily thorough, candid, and responsive to any question I could envision. Early Friday morning, he called to set up a two-hour training session for that same day as he had already completed his work. That "work" included a nine-point punch list and reloading 10 years worth of data and loading all updated operating system with new software packages. His two-hour training session would require an Apple/MAC trainer to present a weekend course. Not only impeccable service, but also excellent training complemented by a witty, warm personality. Amazing experience plus he saved me at least $1800 (i.e., saved me a new purchase). BTW, since I am a ZAG student on weekends, I really appreciate a 12-hour turnaround, so I had all my data Friday evening. Go ZAGS! read more

Mac Service saved the day! I am the videographer/producer for Spokane band SHC who were just hours away from a very important recording session when the band's Mac computer refused to connect to the sound board! We tried everything we could to get the units to communicate but to no avail. Owner of Mac Service Jerry did his best to troubleshoot over several phone calls, and then dropped everything and drove to the studio to work on the issue personally. After digging deep into many hidden programing regions in the Mac, Jerry pinpointed the problem and linked the systems perfectly. After a thorough testing everything worked beautifully. I called Jerry about a computer I got for free and needed help with an issue I'm having and after a almost 40 min conversation, he recommeneded I go a better route rather than repair an old computer that will umtimalty not work for my needs. So instead of taking advantage of a clueless customer on Mac computers, he steered me in the right direction to save me at least $300 and to go for a new comouter that was well within my price range. My writing this review was the least I could do and after reading other Yelp reviews I am all the more happy to spread the word. This place takes service seriously and will help you with your Apple computer, tablet, or laptop. The owner had our beloved but aged iMac upgraded and back to its youthful speed in less than 48 hours. Along with maintenance, repair and upgrade done, the owner included an in-depth consultation which literally took the mystery out of our Mac, answered questions that I'd had for years, and taught me a few cool things about the Mac I didn't know. This was our second time servicing a Mac computer with Jerry. Two years ago Jerry worked on our desktop and today it was a MacBook Pro. Both times Jerry has been available to work on our computers right away which has been a life saver. Both times he has been quick to know exactly what to do and has been able to explain things to us in a way we understood. Jerry Olsen was a true pro, Nobody comes close to him in Spokane for Mac service, tech help, etc. I needed to partition the hard drive on my older MAC so I could run Snow Leopard and programs that I love on it. AND the 2nd partition was the latest MAC OS, with the better security while on the web. At the same time he did some general cleanup, and the computer runs better than ever. He took the time to show me things and give me valuable advice. Wow! What a great experience I had. Jerry took a substantial amount of time to educate me about my MacBook Pro and he did so with enthusiasm and knowhow. I cannot remember the last time I actually wrote a review on anything. I have to say that the service I received was awesome. I bought in my 2011 MAC that was no longer booting up. I requested an SSD install with a stable Mac OS. Now mind you this is a day before Thanksgiving, and not only was the Mac repaired with the requested items, it was also done in one day. I have an IPhone 6s and recently disabled it. I called Apple Support and multiple companies several times, and everyone told me nothing could be done to save my data. With one phone call from Jerry, he saved me the trouble of losing all my precious photos and contacts.
