Finally made it here even though it's basically right around the block from me. *TIP* Check hours of operation because I have tried to come here several times: either they were closed or closing. Had the Single Mac Meal with lettuce. tomatoes, pickles and raw onions (no cheese). It's a walk up outside food truck. Ordered my food and waited til it was brought out to me. It's all outdoor seating so good weather is a must. There is covered seating that is shared with the restaurant next door (Galveston Bagel Company). You can also sit at the bar that's attached to the food truck. It's a good burger. I recommend doing a double meat burger because the buns are dense and it was more bun than meat on the Mac Single burger. A solid burger and fries all the way around. *Warning* The flies are a huge problem here and outside anywhere on the island so now you know. If and when I am back, I will definitely be getting my food to go or eating my burger inside my car. read more

Probably the best burger I have had in years!!! I judge everything in comparison to Fuddrucker's as a kid remembering that fresh bread and quality beef. THIS is EVEN better. Juicier and like a homemade grilled out burger, but with the BEST bun ever. All the toppings (you get to pick) were fresh and it was just the perfect bite. The fries were like McDonald's BUT better somehow... hot and salty with that crispy outside and soft potato inside. Plus, one order of fries can feed 2. We drove all the way from Pasadena to have Mac-ies again for the second time. It is definitely worth the drive. The burgers are amazing. My husband and I went here on Saturday because we had been hearing about how wonderful the burgers are. Living here on the island, we try to visit all the local establishments that aren't touristy. My husband and I ate here based on the reviews. We are both in agreement that the buns are just too much bread. I'm not a big meat eater and generally don't care for burgers. So here's the surprising part. I thought the burger wasn't too bad, my husband the burger lover didn't like it, said it was dry and not a great flavor. Go figure. We both got the single with cheese and all the toppings and their special sauce. The fries are good and very generous. You can eat outside at the picnic tables or go into the bagel company and eat in there. We chose to eat outside because the indoor seating had a strong smell that smelled somewhat like propane but I'm not sure what it was exactly. The service was good, the young lady that took our order was friendly and helpful. When I visit a new city, I just want good food no matter where I am. I am learning to let go of expectations and follow the photo. I had one patty and the hubs had 2 Patties. One patty was more than filling. It's a small mom and pop burger stand and so good. I am so happy we came here. You would expect to come to the beach for a great burger but again I just rather pay for really good food than to check a box for mediocre seafood which Galveston is full of no offense. The home made bun is what sets this burger apart. You can tell the difference, so soft yet firm. It was so good, I would come to Galveston just for this burger. The place is clean and efficient. It's covered for rain which is great because it rained. There are stools to grab a quick bit. The lady who helped us was nice. The special sauce was really good and fries were crispy. Debated going up the road to get smash burgers then I remembered we have our own right here on the island. I had not tried them before so this was my fist. First of all it's cute, it's outdoors, there were several people around and the vibe was festive. It was chilly out so it was good to see warmers. So they make their own bread and that's definitely a plus. I ordered a single, a double and a large fry. The cashier was friendly and attentive, took my order and gave clear directions in how she would call my name when my order was up. There was about a 20 minute wait but I sat at the bar and took in the night air. I took my order to go. Of course I dug into the fries on the car ride home while they were hot. They were perfectly seasoned and delicious! I live about 5 minutes from the food truck so we dug right into the burgers. Let.Me.Tell.You. They are SO good!! The bun, is fabulous, the meat tasted like I cooked it right in my own kitchen, and the toppings were fresh and crisp. Best Smash Burgers on the Island! I tried Mac-ies for the first time last weekend and it exceeded my expectations. The burgers are delicious, with gourmet quality ingredients- a perfect bun, super fresh veggies, the pickles taste & look homemade, they have 5 different cheeses to choose from, I picked gouda and it was so good! The fries are great & made even better when dipped in the mac sauce. I sat inside in a comfortable booth and enjoyed the aroma from their coffee bar but on a cooler day I will be back to sit on the nice, dog friendly, shaded patio. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere here. Definitely, a good vibes kind of place. The staff is friendly and gave me the impression that they are one big happy BagelMac-ie family. The burgers are served from a food truck, which we didn't realize but it was fine. There is plenty of covered seating outside and you can even eat inside at the bagel company shop next to it. Best burgers we've had and they were served quickly and the counter person was up front about what size fries to get. A small is plenty for 2 people.
