We were getting our furnace replaced and we went through the Mass Save HEAT Loan program. Dave has dealt with that many times and was a big help getting us everything that we needed from him and helping understand what exactly we needed to do. They removed the old and installed the new. It was a big project and they did great and left no mess. But a week later we noticed that our heat wasn't always kicking on when it should be. THIS WAS NOT ALL TOWN'S FAULT! I called and they sent someone over. He discovered a complicated problem that I didn't fully understand but the bottom line was that condensation was not draining properly and so the machine would eventually shut itself down. He fixed it for the time being and thought it might be all set. It was not. I ended up calling Dave on a Saturday when we were not even home (a family obligation) and told him that it had happened again. We had left a door unlocked and they were able to get in and fix it again. This second time was when they discovered some possible problems in the machine itself from the factory. Unfortunately their remedies only lasted about half a day and it was cold again the next morning. The main reason I was so concerned was that we had a baby in the house. I called Dave early on a Sunday and he and two others were there ASAP to give us a holdover fix that should last a few days because he had determined at this point that we needed a whole new machine. At no further cost to us, Dave and the guys came back a few days later, installed the "extra" new furnace and got rid of the bad one. Haven't had any problems since and this whole situation could have been a real mess. But Dave and his guys made a tough situation as easy as they possibly could and took care of everything for us.

We were a long time customer of Demelo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning. Over the years we have…read moreused them for drainage issues, plumbing repair and hot water heater maintenance and until recently delivered a reasonable service. On our request, Demelo came to our house on June 7 to clear a clogged kitchen drain. The technician worked on it and declared the problem fixed. We were charged $230. About a week later the drain was clogged again. On June 17 Demelo returned to clear the same clogged drain. A different technician "fixed it" and charged us another $370. In a weak moment I paid. So after paying $600 and one more week, the drain was clogged again for the 3rd time. On June 28, we called Ari's ProDrain Cleaning to clear the same clogged drain that none of the Demelo technicians were able clear. Ari charged us $250 and gave a 30 day warranty. The drain is working well now. I contacted Demelo several times to complain and I requested a $300 refund (should be all $600). After several calls the Demelo business person told me that the owner can only authorize a $60 credit on THE NEXT SERVICE. Demelo does not provide a warranty on their work even though their website states under plumbing services: "Demelo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is there to fix those problems, making sure your day-to-day routines, whether at work or home, continue unabated. Need an installation or repair? Call us. We'll have one of our team members out to appraise the situation and get you up and running, leaving you with the confidence of knowing the job was done properly." In other words empty words. The charge time and materials whether they fix the problem or not. Clearly a company to avoid.

Heating would be shut off during blistering cold days. This company came out repeatedly (about every other week) insisting it was an electrical problem. Eventually, I called another HVAC company to take a look and they were able to properly diagnose and fix the issue. Turns out it was just a faulty igniter all along. Ended up spending $300 instead of $1500 on new electrical that didn't need to be fixed. Disappointed with the repeated misdiagnosis and wasted time.
