My elderly father-in-law, who is also a U.S. military veteran, took his truck to Mac Haik Ford Pasadena because it felt slightly sluggish. After keeping the vehicle over the weekend, he was told he needed a new engine. This recommendation made absolutely no sense. The truck had been running fine--no white smoke, no knocking, no overheating, and no warning lights. There were no symptoms whatsoever that would indicate catastrophic engine failure. When my wife spoke with Bret, the service writer, he said he wanted to send her pictures to justify why an engine replacement "might be needed." However, no clear explanation or legitimate diagnosis was ever provided. I went to the dealership myself, inspected the truck, and confirmed that it was running normally. In the end, the vehicle required nothing more than a simple oil change. Recommending a full engine replacement under these circumstances--especially to an elderly veteran--is irresponsible and unacceptable. After reading similar reviews from other customers, this raises serious concerns about whether vulnerable customers are being pushed into unnecessary and extremely expensive repairs. The poorest customer service around. They offered valet pickup but they did not return the vehicle for days. I called yesterday morning and it was just waiting for an oil change. They kept it over for another night. No one will call you back. The customer service was inadequate all the way from the Service Manager all the way down. I requested the service manager call me and he did not. I had issues getting through. You get voice mail and not a person more than 99 percent of the time. One word - DON'T. Took my 2025 explorer in for service to get the oil changed and started telling the quick lane person all the issues we are having so they refer us to a person and say this person is really good at helping everyone. Called to talk to the manager and he was in a meeting, receptionist had me on hold for 15 mins before coming back and telling me that the manager is in a meeting and if I wanted to wait on the phone or leave a message. I left him a message for him to call me back and well it's been 2 hours since then and still no call back or anything. Initially speaking to the salesman, Tony, over the phone to inquire about a truck was going well. We felt good enough to go and see the vehicle in person and possibly make a deal. Upon getting to the dealership, things took a bad turn. This dealership is unorganized, disgusting and does NOT prioritize customers. There were multiple instances throughout our buying process that almost made us get up and leave. We only finalized the purchase because we needed a truck. During the test drive of the vehicle, we noticed that the truck had not been cleaned at all!! There was moldy food and gross silverware sitting in the console and amongst other things, there is overspray on the vehicle that they did not want to take care of. Furthermore, during the finance process, we found out that the salesman didn't bother to let them know about our down payment alongside our trade in. Did pick up drop off service for maintenance due to my work hours. They kept my truck all day & then told me they wouldn't be able to bring it back because their driver had to leave early. I could come & get it or they could bring it the next day. No, I'm stuck at work. They brought it to me. When I got in it to go home it seems the Ford employees treated my truck like it was their personal vehicle & changed everything to their liking...radio, seats, mirrors and so on. I wanted to like this dealership but my first experience with them wasn't great. First, I was charged over $100 for an oil change. The same filter and oil they use can be purchased from Walmart for $5 and $35 respectively. $60 for labor? Anyway, my biggest complaint is that I brought my F-150 in for a coolant flush and a rear differential fluid service. I asked three times before bringing my truck in to be serviced if it was a coolant drain and fill or if it was a full flush with a machine. I didn't want any of the old orange coolant to remain in my truck. Three times, I was told that it was a full flush with a machine. Leaving the dealership, I opened my hood and looked at the fluid, it was dramatically overfilled (all the way to the top of the overflow bottle) but it was clean yellow fluid. When I got home and went into the bottle to remove the excess fluid, it was dirty orange coolant. These scumbags charged $180 plus tax to open the coolant petcock and drain about a gallon of coolant and just replaced what they removed. I could have literally done the same damn thing in my driveway for $20. Conversely, I expected that a "rear differential service" would include them removing the cover, getting all of the old fluid out, cleaning the gears, and putting on a new gasket. What did they do? They opened the drain plug, let the fluid ooze out, replaced the drain plug, opened the fill plug, and... hopefully... replaced the fluid. I've had it with this dealership. The people are friendly but their services are overpriced and they half-ass EVERYTHING. From now on, I'm taking my business to mom and pop shops. I have 2 fords and have been here 4 times to have them both serviced and repaired. I try not to rush to judgement but I feel that I have been here enough times to say for sure that this place does not value my business. They had my primary vehicle for 2 weeks before working "looking" at it. Another 2.5 weeks before it was ready. Luckily for me I was out of town the last 2 weeks. Services received: state inspection vehicle evaluation and brake lamp switch I gave them some grace as they were worked by through a power outage one week had some callouts the next but over a month? Yeah that's excessive. Service advisor Heidi is awesome. She is a Very active listener, friendly and communicative. Unfortunately she does not control wait times for service techs. BRETT .... Terrible!!! He speaks with high energy and a nice tone while being condescending and combative. Took my truck in for overheating. He went back and forth with me when I challenged him for an ETA on when my vehicle would ready for pick up. My vehicle was leaking fluid when I arrived one of the techs saw that and was going to go see where it was coming from (not work on it just look at it) Brett spoke to him sternly saying "don't". After we got over the ETA hurdle he proceeded to go back and forth with me about a courtesy shuttle to take me home. I told Brett that I bring my truck to the dealership and pay a premium price for SERVICE and respectfully told him that I was not appreciative of my current experience. He apologized got me a shuttle and he was pleasant for every follow up call and even during pick up. When I went to pick up my vehicle I dropped the other one off. I was surprised to see it was still going well. When I got home I got a call from Brett confronting me about having given him a 3 on the survey. YES confronting me. He was not inquisitive or seeking to understand. I was very candid in my response to him. Further, informing him that I thought his approach to asking was rude and may deter less vocal clients from responding to future requests for feedback or returning to their establishment. I picked up my car to find that work outside what was agreed was performed resulting in an elevated bill. This dealership does dirty work. I went in for an oil change. They spilled oil all over my undercarriage. All the way back to the rear differential...like wtf the rear differential!! They even spilled oil on my front grill. Why I have no idea. Probably have a whole bunch of kids working in the back. Just dirty work! I even told them as soon as I got there, I wanted a clean quality job. They seem not to even care. They looked at me like I was dumb. I can image how they clean there ass! I called to speak to the manager Dave and he was more worried about proving me wrong, then fixing the problem.oh and I waited 3 hrs on top of everything only to get a shit job. Dave said I had to make an appointment to get priority. Now I get that but 3 hrs for an oil change without an appointment is still crazy! Clowns. Then, whenever the guy pulled my vehicle up to the front and walked in the front of the building well you should've seen how greasy his hands were. I could just imagine how he left my steering wheel. Never coming back. And I suggest if you want to keep your car clean, go to another dealership or change the oil yourself. Drove away after waiting hours to get vehicle after signing papers, went 1700 mi and the engine blew on me. Please do not EVER bring your vehicle here for service. They will find every excuse in the book to block you from having quality service OR overcharge you. Our 2018 Ford Escape had less than 75k miles on it when the engine suffered catastrophic failure due to a known issue with 1.5L EcoBoost engines. At least.. that is what two independent mechanics said. Both refused to touch it and stated that it needed to be brought to a Ford Dealership because the engine was under recall. My mother in law had the exact same situation, and Ford replaced her engine as well as provided a rental. She highly recommended Mac Haik, so we trusted and valued her opinion. We chose to bring our vehicle there and thought nothing of it. After a nightmarish experience with service advisor Heidi, wherein the first communication we had with her was that she claimed the engine was not under recall but was "starved of oil", and that the vehicle was sitting where it was parked waiting for me to pick it up, and no one had called to inform us, we had enough. 2 independent mechanics didn't catch this supposed oil leak. She claimed "there would be oil leaking onto your driveway" then backtracked and said.. actually, it has a cover under it, so probably would be unnoticeable. When I mentioned the vehicle never had any indication of low oil or even needing an oil change (it was regularly maintenanced) she stated that would be an issue to take up with my mechanic as "it was an internal leak and that was on them". After passing the buck to my trusted mechanic, I confronted him and requested service records. My mechanic confirmed that we NEVER had an oil leak and the issue was the coolant intrusion that the EcoBoost engine is known for. Ford sold us a defective engine and their service department refused to repair it under the recall. When I came to Mac Haik Ford with my mother and husband, Dave, the manager, told us he would do everything he could for us. We had an aftermarket extended warranty as well. After they submitted this claim, they still refused to assist us and stated that our only option was to purchase a new engine for $10,000. After over a month of having our Ford Escape, we finally brought it home and were forced to pay $155 for their inspection of the vehicle. Oh but don't worry! Our NEW service advisor, Cory, told us that if we gave him 5 stars he'd give us our money back! Guaranteed! I'd rather eat the cost of the charge than lie to consumers and lead another poor victim to this service department. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Location has no form of appropriate communication. I took my vehicle in for a recall & was told I had to have a diagnostic test (understandable) and that i would be called to give Authorization to do the diagnostic test but was never called. I was not told how long it would take, calling multiple times I went up the dealership as I needed to get home and was told that they haven't gotten to my car during the day. I asked to pull it out so I could leave but it took them over an hour and all of a sudden the Technician was working on it at the time. Again, i was never asked for authorization and when I got my keys I was charged for a diagnostic test just to be told the engine light was on for the recall. Can we give 0 stars? Brought my truck into be repaired for a no crank. Tried to tell me it was the new starter I put on 2 days earlier. Then said both batteries needed replacing. I took the batteries to O'Reillys because they still were under warranty. Only one battery tested bad but the other tested good. I replaced one of the 2. Later was told I have a steering fluid leak which I hadn't noticed before. Gave approval. 6 weeks later got my truck back. Drove the truck a little bit and noticed it was difficult to turn and I had no radio. I checked the power steering fluid and the reservoir was completely empty. Checked power wire from my battery for the aftermarket amplifier and it was disconnected and tucked away. Went to dealership to have power steering fluid out in. I sit down in the waiting room an the truck won't start in the drive. Same symptoms from when I brought it in initially, no crank. Now they are wanting me to leave my truck, again, for who knows how long. Made me sign a high mileage waiver stating they aren't responsible for any thing they that might need to be repaired, other than the no crank issue. They refused to work on it until I signed. They offered one day of rental but I would be responsible for anything past that. Will they find some new mysterious gremlin causing the no crank they will have to bill me for? Will the no power steering fluid cause the steering pump and or the steering gear box to go bad while it's in their shop and I'll be responsible for? Will I be stuck paying for a rental car for the next 6 weeks while they find more "items that need replacing"? Those are questions I am asking myself. read more

She told me she would get back to me if they can beat it. After hours of trying to get in touch with her she denied my call and finally reached out to me at 4:50 pm, keep in mind I sent her all the information at 1:30. She said that we can match your trade value and give a similar deal and if I make the hour and a half drive there she could beat it. When my vehicle was towed to the dealership I called a head of time to make them aware of what is needed to be repaired and it took them a week and a half for them just to have my vehicle in the bays and diagnosed and even longer for the repairs. Vehicle has been in/out of this shop since May 2020 for transmission repairs. Dealer does not honor bad worksmanship and find any reason to blame and deny warranty repairs. I had to take the vehicle back TWICE for leaking transmission fluid a day after the rebuild and a second time after they fixed the first leak and a 3rd time for horrible shifting. Very incompetent staff and poor /management customer service . Do not make the same mistake I did by taking it to FORD Mac Haik. Service manager Dave Evans will do whatever it takes to get you to pay any high dollar repair without warranty coverage. You will thank yourself later why you didn't . Had an awful experience getting my wife's car service. We had a tow truck driver pick it up from a location it was stuck at Saturday morning. Tow truck driver was recommended by the dealership service department. I asked the driver if I needed to meet him at the dealership to explain what was going on with the car (2016 ford escape). He said no and had me fill out a paper he would give to cord dealership for them to call me back. By Monday at lunch time I still had heard nothing. I called and they said they did not have the car and gave ME the number to call tow truck driver instead of them doing it themselves. Rep I spoke to was named Heidi. After this, they told me since they were unaware of vehicle until this time, they were unable to even diagnose the problem until Wednesday. Wednesday comes and shockingly enough I hear nothing. So I call in late afternoon and was directed to speak with Andrew. I was the. Told that it could be a transmission issue. The person that diagnosed transmission issue would not be able to even LOOK at vehicle until 7-10 days after the fact. I guess I got lucky and they were able to diagnose the problem the next day. When asked about the price I was told a number and to my surprise I was charged almost $200 more because they did not factor in the tow. I verified multiple times the price of the service because we do live on a budget. All in all it was an awful experience. To top it all off I was told my wife's car was ready and was told to wait an hour for paperwork to be processed and have it pulled up for me to drive away. All in all I'm looking for another dealership to get more service work done. We go to dealerships so the work and service can be trusted....at least we as consumers used to be able to trust it. Well they contacted me 2 weeks later saying they had my license plates. That fine, not a big deal. The problem is that the first week of driving the car I noticed the alignment was off. I figured that's not a big deal, I'll just let them know when I get my license plates. Well I go in today to pick it up and let them know what's going on. They told me I would have had to of told them within the first week for them to do anything about it. They said I signed a paper that said this but no one ever told me this. I was not even given any copies of the papers I signed when I bought the car. No papers or emails with any proof that I even bought the car. And it was paid in full with cash. RUN RUN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN TO ANOTHER DEALER!! If I could give it negative stars I would!!! This has to be the absolute worse dealer I have ever dealt with and my family has been in the business for over 25 years. They have to be the most useless team I have ever met!! My vehicle was towed there for service and no one called me for days. Then I called for an update and they couldn't even find my truck! I only bought a Ford because I thought the rumors of being a cruddy vehicle was old news but the vehicle and people who sell it are all cruddy. I can never get a hold of anyone and don't bother calling because they won't answer until the third round of calling them! Never in my life have I had such HORRIBLE SERVICE! read more
