I've aaaaalways been a fan of Mac Daddy so when I found out they were in my neighborhood last night I cancelled my dinner plans in lieu of mac and cheese. When I arrived they already had the social distancing protocol in place with a sanitizing station and everyone standing in an orderly line six feet apart. There was just one guy holding it down in the truck and did a pretty good job of keeping it moving. I do wish they had a contactless payment or order in advance like I've seen from some others, but everyone is trying to pull things together as best they can. Collectively, I'm sure I've had all the toppings by now but last night I had a new combination by combining buffalo chicken and jalapenos. I love how they finely chopped up the jalapenos so you could get some in every bite. It was cheesy, spicy, and oh so good I was scraping the bowl. The oversized with toppings was more than enough for dinner and I was stuffed by the end. It is a pricey bowl of mac but I know they're using a ton of cheese to make it so tasty. Mac Daddy - Social distancing for Mac and cheese - Food Trucks Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

The staff is friendly and the food is definitely fresh. The Mac and cheese could use more seasoning and the cheese sauce was slightly curdled. I'd be willing to try it maybe one more time but nothing to write home about. I don't think a small cup of Mac and cheese and a crumbled bacon topping should is worth $13. read more

Such an awesome food stand at The Charleston Battery field. They keep it simple by offering Mac n cheese and they do it well! They give you several protein options to top it with so you can customize your experience. We decided on the "Mac Daddy" size and topped it with fried chicken and bacon bits. This combo was so delicious. The bacon was crispy and added a wonderful texture and saltiness while the chicken was fried beautifully. Each bite was tender and juicy with creamy Mac n cheese and we loved every bite. The service was quick and friendly as well which helps in a crowded stadium with hungry fans. The ambiance was busy, fast-paced, and exciting and ended with an overall great experience that we can't wait to try again! read more

What an incredible Sunday afternoon treat. We found Mac daddy at second Sunday. We split the small and it was plenty for the both of us. They have a lot of wonderful topping choices, but let's be real- you can't go wrong with crispy savory bacon- so that's what we did. Highly recommend! read more

Tasty food but a bit overpriced for the portion size and relatively simple ingredients. Then again, the inflation reduction act will surely reverse the escalating price of food read more

I'm obsessed with mac and cheese and was excited when this truck stopped at our apartment complex. This was the first mac and cheese I couldn't even eat It was a disappointment because I used to love Crave, but this didn't taste nearly as good as I remember. Not sure if it's changed or if the truck has different food. I gave it 3 stars because the fried chicken I got on top was actually really yummy but I wouldn't get the mac again. read more

I get this Mac n Cheese anytime I am around the truck, or anytime we're in Mount Pleasant and go to Crave. It's one of the best around. Anyone who tells you otherwise has a cheese log wedged somewhere and should get that removed before writing future reviews. You have a choice of toppings to go on your mac if you prefer, but I like mine plain with shredded Parmesan on top. If I'm going to put a meat on there, it's usually pulled pork. On this occasion, the food truck was over in Shadowmoss, and I ordered four cups of cheesy greatness for the family. The guy in the truck was quick, efficient, and handled everything with care. There's usually a line for this truck, so be prepared to get there early or wait a little bit, but I promise you, it's worth it. read more

I got the Mac and cheese with pulled pork: it was amazing!!! Definitely one of the best I've ever had. It was a bit pricey, but you get a lot of food and it tasted great so I think it's worth it! read more

The only reason this little slice of heaven deserves less than 5 stars is because this is the most expensive Mac on the planet...but that being said it is also the best Mac on the planet. My wallet hates me every time this food truck is around but my heart and soul could not be more happy once I am done ingesting this magical concoction of pasta and cheese. This isn't your down south baked Mac and Cheese...this is cooked macaroni spirals tossed in a pan with copious amounts of an incredibly delicious cheese blend then served by the pound. They offer various toppings to serve along with it like bacon and fried chicken. I have had some of the different toppings and I think I am just happy with a big ole bowl of plain Mac with a generous dousing of the parmesan they put on top for you. They have won a stupid amount of various awards at this point so everything I have just said really doesn't need to be stated. At the end of the day you really must just go enjoy the cheesy bliss that is Mac Daddy. Go get a pound O' Mac and enjoy your carb coma... read more

We booked Mac Daddy for our wedding at the Island House. Bridget was so nice and easy to work with and the food was delicious. They were also very flexible when we had to move our wedding due to COVID. Book them for your event! read more

I loved the buffalo chicken . I had a baby Mac with buffalo chicken. The Mac n cheese was on the cold side , and it's just ok. The noodles were al dente' and the sauce lacks that sharp cheese flavor Mac n cheese is known for. This is more like pasta in cheese sauce. I prefer Mac n cheese casserole style. I would order again if my options were limited. It's also a little pricey. read more

I had Mac Daddy for the first time last night over at Volvo Car Stadium. I've had Crave's mac and cheese before (take out) and am a big fan. I ordered the special, a macadilla ($4) with some pulled pork on it ($3). For $7, I got a great deal. It was cheaper than the pulled pork tacos! The people working were super friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the wait. I get they are making it fresh for me on the grill top, but it took almost 15 minutes which made me sad. I will certainly be back to this food truck whenever available. Check it out when you can!! read more

Was at a concert at Volvo stadium and I wanted something to eat other than typical stadium food (i.e.--hot dog, nachos, Etc.) It was mid concert and this was the only place with a line--so I figured it must be good. They have 3 sizes of Mac N Cheese: the smallest is good for going at it solo, medium is good to share, and large is an entire pound of Mac N Cheese! I ordered the small, but ended up getting a medium on the house due to my wait (maybe 10-15 min..). I ordered the Mac with bacon and jalapeño...but they have a huge list of toppings you can mix and match...as well as a Mac quesadilla. You can tell they use good quality cheese...and it was fresh. If you are craving Mac N Cheese...check this food truck out! read more

I've tried Mac Daddy on three separate occasions, and I have always been disappointed. I am not sure how this truck has gotten such good reviews. The food is overpriced, and the flavor of their mac and cheese tastes like under-seasoned, under-cooked roux with a bit of parmesan. If you like any cheddar flavor in your mac and cheese, skip this truck. If you like a more Velveeta-style mac and cheese, skip this truck. If you like Kraft mac and cheese, skip this truck. read more

We go to 2nd Sunday almost every time just for Mac Daddy. The food is always excellent. I recommend the Mac and cheese with pulled pork on top. We also saw Mac Daddy at the Ellie Goulding concert. And we first discovered them at the Mac Off. No matter where they are they always have great food. No other food truck compares! Highly recommended! We hope to make it to their restaurant (Crave) someday. read more

Mac Daddy - Mac and cheese with pulled pork. Soooo good! - Food Trucks Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Overpriced undercooked garbage. Actually downloaded Yelp to leave a review this was so bad. $10 for a cup of extremely undercooked Mac n cheese. Would have been more pleased with a 50 cent box of Kraft. Will never eat here again read more

I am in sooo much trouble if Mac Daddy shows up at the IOP Farmer's Market every week. We adore Crave's mac and cheese. The food truck offers 3 sizes and choices of topping. I have no clue what else the truck offers, because I was in such a rush to get home and eat. read more

The most terrific Mac and cheese you will ever eat. So decadent and cheesy! And they definitely load up the toppings too!

This is one of my favorite food trucks in the area! They are always at a ton of events in town so it's always a nice surprise when I find this one. When you feel like some loaded mac, the pulled pork is always great! The traditional mac is just as good but you can always go for the fried chicken mac or bacon mac. Who doesn't love some mac and cheese?! Mac Daddy is where it's at and is a must try if you see them. read more

This is the second time that I've had macaroni and cheese from the Mac Daddy food truck and I have to say that it's most likely the best mac & cheese that I've ever had. Mac Daddy is a food truck affiliated with Crave Kitchen and can be found at different events throughout Charleston. My favorite of the two orders I've had was the simple addition of bacon, vs. the buffalo chicken, but both were delicious. Prices are fair (~$6.50 for a small with one addition, depending on the addition) and the employees were nice and helpful. read more

The flavor was pretty good, and the fried chicken on top was great. But the noodles were severely undercooked. They were crunchy... for a truck that only does one thing, they should be able to do it really well. Also it is pretty darn expensive for some noodles and a cheese sauce. Safe to say I won't be going back next time the food truck is in my neighborhood. read more
