A friend of ours had been raving about Black Out so we had to try! This is a food truck so you have to check Instagram for their schedule. Not sure why the Yelp page says it's closed. This was the best smash burger I've ever had. We caught them at Low Tide a few weeks ago. The double came out fast and was sizzling hot. After sitting for several agonizing minutes allowing it to cool, I could finally enjoy a bite. It did not disappoint. I'm not sure how a smash burger can end up anything but well done but somehow it still had a faint pink line in the very middle. The sauce and cheese and crispy edges of the burger left me wanting more after every bite. I was very full but could have stretched my stomach to keep eating. This weekend we caught them at Munkle and once again, they nailed it!

Oh yeah pickles are jammin too!

Best smash burger in Charleston! I crave their burgers and seek them out so I can get the goodness! The patties are cooked perfect nice and crispy, melts in your mouth! Keep up the great work I'm sure I will be back soon!!

Definitely enjoyed my smash burger from here. I got the single paddy. The cheese was super melty and fantastic. I also enjoyed the sauce on top. I even enjoyed the pickles and I'm not a pickle person. It wasn't my favorite smash burger I've ever had, but it was very tasty. The prices were a little expensive for what you get. But with that being said, I'm very glad I tried this food truck!

Wish I had to hands for this burger

What a great place! Big sloppy burger, but perfectly balanced with pickles. You can get it in any size you want. The Frito Pie is nice and crunchy with chili, cheese and jalapeños for a kick. Potato salad is made whole small potatoes which is cool.

I've been wanting to go visit this food truck for months and just was never in the right area. I'm sad to say that I wasn't a huge fan of their flavor combinations. I've been looking for Charleston's best burger for years and BOB looked like they could be in the running. Unfortunately they're a little out in left field. The burger and bun were great, it's the "fancy sauce"... It's like a coconut and curry toxicity sauce and it's something quite unique. Unfortunately IMHO, it doesn't pair well with the rest of the burger. It's great on fries though. Granted I think you can order custom burgers and ask for it on the side but this is their flagship menu item and it's just meh.... If I go back I'll get the fancy sauce on the safe and stick with traditional toppings. BOB you guys got something good working here, just needs a little fine tuning and you'll have fried gold.

Loco moco! Better than any Hawaiian version I've had

The best double cheeseburger I've EVER had. They told me when I ordered it that it would be and they didn't lie.

Several people had told us how great the food was, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to finally check it out -- and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, every single person working there was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. You can tell the staff works really well together, and that kind of energy makes a difference in the overall experience. We started with the wings and onion rings, which were both delicious and a great way to kick things off. Three out of the four of us ordered the Barburger, while one person got the Company Salad. The Barburger was smashed and cooked perfectly with that great crispy edge you hope for in a smashburger. The Company Salad completely surprised us in the best way -- the salad itself was fresh and flavorful, but the dressing? Absolutely crave worthy. We also tried the regular fries, sweet potato fries, and cole slaw. The sweet potato fries and slaw were a little mediocre compared to the rest of the meal, but honestly, everything else was so good that it hardly mattered. Overall, the food absolutely lived up to the hype. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and some seriously delicious burgers. Definitely give this place a try.

We stopped in during happy hour and scored a $5 margarita (huge win), and overall the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the original burger and it was incredible--especially with their signature Heavy's sauce. We also tried the onion rings, which I don't usually go for, but these completely changed my mind. They were super crunchy and packed with flavor. And of course, I have to mention--they're pet friendly with plenty of outdoor seating, which is always a huge plus for us. Ambiance is nice and inviting! Inside isn't very big just keep that in mind. This is a must-try spot!

Burgers are a bit "smashed" and had a nice, crisp sear to them and good flavor. Pickles were a gourmet, fresh style and the sauce was like a savory Russian dressing with strong dill flavor. I wish the bun wasn't so buttered but that's a personal preference. The fries though? Top tier. Super crispy but creamy and smooth on the inside, just enough Cajun seasoning and salt to make me want to shovel them into my mouth forever. And the price? An outstanding value for downtown Charleston. $60 before tip for 3 burgers and fries and a drink. Even less if you get there at happy hour. I keep passing by Big Gun and remembering I want to try it when I have already eaten... don't make the same mistake, get in there and give it a shot. If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. I highly recommend checking it out!

The food at the surrounding tables looked equally incredible; I'd especially recommend the cheese plate and the tuna. As a bonus, there's a nightclub on the second floor that gets lively on weekends, so the fun doesn't have to stop after dinner. If you haven't been to The Peacock yet, do yourself a favor and stop by -- great food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I tried the omelette which was stuffed with asparagus, Boursin cheese and caramelized onion. It was fluffy, light and salty. We could hear everything everyone else was saying, and it was difficult to hear others at our own table. The rock music did not help the cacophonous ambience. We ordered the deviled eggs which were tasty and the mushrooms. Some mushrooms came in a creamy sauce which tasted fine, but the other mushrooms were fried and bland. Our entrees were the rabbit, snapper, and scallops with sides of dirty rice, grits, and cabbage. The meat was tender and there were some nice flavors. The dishes were all decent, but very rich and heavy. So, if you like the feeling of that in your stomach, this place is for you. Our server was nice but a bit officious. For the price, we didn't feel the experience was worth it. We thought it was an attempt at elevated southern food that didn't quite succeed.

Everyone just fits in, no matter if you're the black sheep! Seating is a little limited, but worth the wait. I guess the first person I ran into was a manager, he introduced himself, (legit, "Hi my name is Bryan" and shook my hand!) (Post Script, the handshake is pervasive here, literally both bartenders were introduced to me and both came up and shook my hand.) I had checked this place out from other Yelp reviews and already knew I wanted the Fish and Chips, so after my beer order, I was shocked and awed that without asking, he brought the Malt Vinegar! You know it's gonna be the bomb already! The fish arrived very quickly! Bruh...this fish was legit. A large solo iceberg of fried perfection crested upon a wave of fresh made "chips " and they were clearly fresh made, not the frozen variety. The beer batter on this fish was so good I was in heaven. I thought it might be heavy and greasy, and yet somehow it held only flavor, crunch, and absorbed my Malt Vinegar to perfection. This place is packed with regulars and it clearly seems to attract other service industries personnel. All good signs of a good time! This may have been my first visit, but won't be my last!
