I am glad to see that I wasn't the only one who was treated terrible! Lol I went here to get my moms make up done for her birthday as my gift to her. The girl that helped us, "Jackie" soooooo rude and full of herself. She was very snotty and so conceited. Overall she made my moms and my experience there horrible. Which is sad because we would go every year, but now we will go to Victoria Gardens location instead :) On a side note have been to the one in Nordstrum...night and day.. This MAC location has no customer service! This one star is for the lack of understanding and unwillingness to help me with their mistake they made with my purchase. I went to buy a studio fix foundation, the first girl who pulled the product grabbed the wrong color I wanted and I informed the cashier. She went to get a correct one and checked the color to make sure it was right. I went home and noticed again they had gotten my product wrong as they gave me a pro finish foundation instead of a studio fix. I went to exchange for the correct one but could no longer find my receipt. Their manager was unwilling to make the exchange even though I could show my receipt online and they could pull it using my account. All they told me was to just try the one I got. How ridiculous is that! I will never be going to this location ever again. read more

The service at this MAC store in my opinion is better than that of other locations. MICHELLE, in particular, was very nice and helpful. Mostly at other MAC stores, if associates are helping other people, they will straight up ignore you when you need help or walk in. But at this store, even if the employees are helping other customers out, they would still ask if I need help and tell me they'll be right there in a little bit. I don't live in Riverside but when I need to shop at MAC, I would go to this store for the purpose of better service. read more

Went down the Mac Store with my girlfriend so she can get some products and get her makeup done as well. Met with the artist Jackie who greeted promptly when we walked in even though It was really busy. We had an appointment and we were assisted exactly on time. Jackie was very professional and didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. My girlfriends makeup came out awesome thanks to Jackie. We didn't feel rushed and she made her feel like she was the only one in the store. Thanks again Jackie for the amazing service. Awful experience. My sister and I made an appointment to get our makeup done for a wedding and they ended up being 40 minutes late. The girl who started on me walked away and helped a walk in for a good 10 minutes while I was sitting in my chair waiting for her. Very unapologetic and didn't seem to care that she was so late. They did not tell me that the eye lashes weren't included in getting my make up done. When she finished my face make up looked so splotchy and the lipstick looked like hell. I basically spent 70 dollars for a new mascara and for her to put eyelashes on me. I will never go there again. read more

MAC - NOT AT NORDSTROMS BUT WISH I HAD GONE THERE MAC PRO STORE DO NOT GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE HERE! I get my makeup done at Mac at least monthly. I had the only bad experience I've had at Mac at this location. I wish I knew the woman who did my makeup but she never introduced herself. She was rude when I met her and made it obvious she didn't want to do my makeup. Her jewelry was scratching my face the whole time and she never apologized. She rushed through my makeup, the colors weren't blended which was terribly obvious which was terribly obvious in pictures, embarrassing, never put on mascara. I don't think she should be doing makeup at all, because even when rushing makeup shouldn't be done like that. She didn't let me know about any of the products she used. Everyone else that worked there seemed pleasant however when you're spending $60 to get your makeup done for an event you don't want to take the risk of having her. I would go to Nordstrom's to get my makeup done over ever going back there. Even driving to another mall is worth it. read more

I went to Mall today just to purchase MAC, and almost left not doing so. (I ended up having to go to Nordstrom) I walked into this MAC store and no one helped me, only said "Hi". I walked around their whole little store and ladies made eye contact and one black lady spoke but NO ONE asked if I needed assistance. When I went to Nordstrom they said "hi AND can I help you with anything" I came to Mall with no make up on because I knew I was buy MAC today. With the customer service I experienced I almost didnt. I ended up buy MUCH more then I planned, and I'm ok with that because the customer service at Nordstrom was very pleasant to work with. Obviously I will NEVER be going to this MAC location when I run out. Sad just sad. read more

I went in today because I needed to be matched for a concealer and foundation that is right for me. I walked in and a young girl (forgot her name - young Asian girl) came up to me and helped me. She asked what I was looking for today and I told her I was looking for a dewy face makeup look. She matched me to a concealer and foundation and applied it to me, she also applied a bronzer, blush, and hilight! The items I was purchasing were exactly what I wanted because she put it on me and I could see that. I also got a mascara while I was there. REVIEW ON MAC COSMETICS ONLINE - NOT SPECIFIC STORE. Do not purchase anything online. When you try to check out and pay, it tries to make you jump through hoops of fire. I ended up having to complete my transaction through their PayPal link. After completing payment, I still haven't received a tracking number, conformation number,email, etc. Their website messaging service is equally ridiculous, as the person (or automated computer) that responses takes up to 40 minutes, doesn't answers your question, continuously "thanks you for holding" , asks "by the way, how long have you been a MAC customer?" , etc. At that point, W.G.A.S. !?!? At the end of the frustration, MAC doesn't show my purchase,it's been a couple of weeks, and PayPal filed a dispute to find out where my products are. Lastly, don't bother trying to call MAC on the phone. Yep, you guessed it, no one answers. In these difficult times that we live in where businesses are having a hard time keeping their heads above water, I would expect a major corporation like MAC to have MUCH better service. Well I can honestly say this store has its pro's and con's mostly con's my first visit wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I was very patient I waited for 5 to 10 minutes for help. I looked around the layout of the store is nice . when I did get help I was give the wrong product. I went back it was a mistake it happened the girl that assisted me this time was kind and apologized for the inconvenience the star is for HER!!! However once more I got something I didn't need so once more I go back. The guy that help was so rude and was checking it up and down thats normal I guess. I literally just walked in here with my boyfriend, trying to find a matching foundation, I stood around for about 5 minutes and I was approached by a lady with black lipstick and I asked if she could help me find the right color foundation and she looked at me with distaste and asked me, "well, do you want me to try it on you?" And her face just said it all. At that point I looked over at my boyfriend and he knew I wasn't just imagining her attitude, so I responded with, "never mind, I'll figure it out." I'm not sure if I was given attitude because I look too young to wear makeup but I guarantee you I'm well over the age to wear makeup and afford MAC products. The customer service is a JOKE! The girls here have all been extremely rude. I have been several times and seen many different employees and some how they are all rude. We all can't walk around with a full face of makeup especially when we work all day!!! I come in with a clean face and they look at me like I'm soooo beneath them!!! Really?!?!? It is so unprofessional esp. since they are working at a mall makeup counter! I went over to the Bare Minerals store right next door and the girls were LOVELY!! so complimenting and willing to help me unlike the MAC girls. Such a shame because I do like MAC cosmetics and I would've purchased my makeup there had it not been for the terrible service. I don't know why the reviews for this store are so low, as my visit was quite pleasant. I had always been intimidated to walk into a MAC store and today was my first visit. I was approached by an artist within a minute after walking towards the foundations. I told her I was interested in the face and body foundation, and she told me to take a seat. I had to wait a few minutes as she was busy helping other customers, however that was no problem for me. While waiting, the other artists were very friendly and always smiling at me. One artist came up to check on me and assured me that I would be helped as soon as possible. My artist took the time to apply the foundation and showed me some tricks on how to apply eyeshadow. She did not pressure me to buy anything, which I really liked. Not being pressured really made me feel comfortable. She was kind and very approachable. I ended purchasing the foundation and really enjoyed my visit at this MAC store. I believe that the artists name was Colleen. read more

My Mother was in the 1162 Galleria Mall Mac store about two weeks ago implying about brushes. The cust.rep offered the special ed.of brush kit worth over $50. My Mom went ahead and pre -ordered Since it wasn't available just yet. My Mother asked if she could Get her makeup done when the brushes where in since they weren't available at the time of purchase. Manager Colleen made the exception for my Mother to get her make up done when she picks up her brushes (special offer w / $50+purchase ). My Mother then went ahead and made an apt for 3pm today at the same location. I live 80miles away and receive an upsetting phone call from my mother regarding the HORRIBLE SERVICE & EXPERIENCE She just had with getting her makeup done. Adena (makeup artist ) was rude,condensing, disrespectful and out right UNprofessional and Sorry Excuse for an Artist. Not only did she make my Mother feel low and disappointed, Adena was sure to treat my Mother as a Low Class Customer. As if her Makeup was FREE, WHICh IT WAS NOT. Even after getting approval from Manager Collen, Adena felt it necessary to belittle my Mother and do a half as job on her makeup. Excuse my Slang and profanity, But at this point I AM FuRIOUS !!!! As Children we want to protect our Parents from Harm or Agony, and living so far away the only thing I can do is talk to the Manager (which I did ) and file a conplaint with the Company (which i did ). I am the one who referred my Mother to try MAC out, to try their products, and this is the treatment she received. However, Colleen was very professional and apologetic and I truly appreciate her trying to fix the half ass makeup done by Adena, but as you can understand at that point my Mother was horrified and disappointed. NO ONE Deserves to be treated like that. Every job has Customer Service involvement, and whether Adena has treated anyone else in this manar I am not aware of but I Will assure that people will read of my Mothers experience with This Person. read more

I had a gift card for $250 and I spent all of that plus $50 out of my own pocket my mother had $40 gift card so total we spent $340 in this store. It was the worst experience of my life and I left feeling dupped with a knot in my stomach. My makeup bad was stolen so I literally needed to start from scratch. The makeup artist clearly did not want to try all the products I needed on my face. I bought most of the things I had years ago and I really needed help getting the best products. The artist convinced to me purchase expensive items that I never used nor really needed it was a bunch of stuff that I loved that I realized I didn't get. My foundation was waaaay to ghostly. She told me that it was the lighting in the store and in normal lighting it would be different. It's so damn bright that I use my foundation as concealer and a highlighter. The highlighter she recommended is clearly for a high yellow or white person. I have all of this useless expensive makeup that I cannot use. The only good picks were the lip stick and blush. Everyone in the store walks around like you owe them something and it feels like your bothering them when you ask for help. I spent so much money I feel totally dupped. Since I have been using the makeup little by little I can't take it back. Smh this is the 3rd experience at mac like this. But this one hurt most because of the money I spent. I spent so much money I couldn't stomach another dollar spent on makeup and I actually had to go to target and get foundation, highlighter and some other things and of course it was 1/5 of the cost. I had no desire to go to this store, but I got a gc for Christmas. My experience left much to be desired, but my sister was another story. She is 18 and I get that probably get punk kids coming in all the time, but she was there the same reason as me. A gift card. They were so rude to her I couldn't believe what I was seeing? I walked in here this evening to purchase a lipstick and the girl who greeted me helped me pick a great one. But when she offered me a lip liner pencil that coordinated AFTER I had already put the lipstick on, I just swiped some on over top of the lipstick instead of wiping it off and starting over. The girl then proceeded to laugh at me and comment on the way that I was applying the lip liner. I understand that I didn't put it on the normal way... But to stand there and really laugh at me for it and be so rude about it was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever experienced. This whole situation really upset me because who wants to be made to look like a fool over a lip liner. I love MAC cosmetics but this isn't the first time that a situation like this has happened to me and my friends at this store. Tonight was the first time in years that I've stepped in this store. And yet again I was mocked and laughed at for no good reason. Really poor customer service and a very rude employee. If I could I give it a 0 stars because I waited to be helped for about 15min this was a few weeks ago and the was not the worst part I came there to get a foundation to match my skin color.. the girl that helped me was named Laura and kept saying that this orangey color matched I did not see it at all it was like 3 shades darker. And to top it off she kept suggesting a studio fix which I did not want had said that from the beginning. She was also very rude kept rolling her eyes as I pointed her on the direction I wanted and would keep shouting me down like I didn't know what I wanted....I will never go there again...Maybe I just got a bad makeup person with bad customer service. read more

FOR THE MAC INSIDE NORDSTROMS: Well the girls name on the receipt says "Ashley" but I'm not quite sure if that was the girl who actually did my makeup. Anywho, the girl that works in there is a black girl w. crazy white/grey colored hair & she wears foundation that's 10 shades lighter than her face (she's not hard to identify, she looks ridiculous). I asked the girl to show me how to simply contour. She proceeded to plaster my face w. all this different makeup, not teaching me how to do it like I asked, and then told me to get up & look at my face in the "big mirror". NONE of it was blended in and I looked hideous!! I walked out of there and went into Sephora so they could fix me up, and one of their workers pointed out that there was a strip of the dark foundation that was just sitting on my face. Luckily she was able to correct everything. I was BEYOND embarrassed. If you ever go into the MAC in Nordstroms at the Galleria in Riverside, please show them this review so that you don't get her. I used to steer clear of MAC Cosmetics because I would hear stories of how overpriced it was, but when the Archie Girls collection came out, I bit the bullet and went in to get a few items for nostalgia's sake. From my experience, the prices are remarkably reasonable for the quality (and the name, let's be real) and the staff was very helpful and friendly as well. The Ronnie Red from the aforementioned collection was sold out, so they helped me find a color match. I think it's also important to know that there seems to be no snobbery at this MAC location and all the workers are happy to answer any questions you may have about makeup in general without any condescension, which has not always been my experience in MAC stores. read more

I got my make-up done there and ended up looking like a drag queen. They were 30 mins late for my appointment. They sat my sister down to start her make-up and the artist walked away and basically did a full face on a girl to sell her make-up. My artist didn't tell me eyelashes were extra. It looked like an animal on top of my eyes. I took them off in the parking lot. Not recommend and I'm so disappointed I had to spend $70 to have to end up doing my own make-up anyway. My first visit to this location, and the only reason i gave it 2 stars was because of the amazing girl named Erika that went extremely out of her way to help me. I visited back at the beginning May (now just finding time to write this review), and when i first walked in it took literally 15 minutes for some one to greet me. The whole purpose for me going in that day was to update my current make up look. All the employees on the floor were to distracted with in their own conversations to even acknowledge the costumers. Finally when a girl did approach me and ask if i could be helped i told her why i was in that day, she than stated she does not do any free application ( which i didnt want in the first place) and walked away. Never in my 32 years of life has a person in costumer service been so rude. At that point i noticed a new girl (erika) just came on the floor, i explained the situation and how displeased i was with the service of her fellow employees, from that point on she fulfilled and answered every question, took the time to show me new techniques, and was a pleasant woman to speak to. She made me feel beautiful inside and out in only a hour and $300 poorer. Her make up was flawless and amazing . I recommend her to any women that goes here, to ask for her. She is from Hawaii maybe that is why she was great, bringing that aloha to riverside... lol but i hope i can save some of you that head ache!!! read more
