One of their staff members came to help me, and almost like reading my mind she pulled out a few items and the next thing I know, in addition to the foundation, I ended up with concealer, makeup brush, lipstick, lip pencil, translucent powder and a bronzer. Kudos to Mai, I appreciated the makeup tips and how I didn't look overdone. **Chaotic and disorganized~ why I'm a Sephora fan** I'm a fan of standalone cosmetic stores and try to avoid beauty outlets at the mall, or any other place with "mall" and "outlet" in the title. Ran inside Westfield mall for some lipstick and liner (*sidenote* MACs flat out fabulous lipstick color with heroine liner= everything for the summer) Anyhoo... it's been awhile since I don't live or here anymore and I had no idea they changed the flor plan. So now the registers are facing the entrance to the main mall and is completely obscured by this huge barrier. I waited for a thousand years (lol) and clearly no one saw me or thought to have 1 person manning this area. So I walk up to this guy who works there because everyone's. Busy helping customers and I asked him what's the process. Do I wait in line for God knows how long it takes for customers to get their needs met ?? Is anyone else available??? I mean .. dang... I just needed lipstick. So he has this condescending come back which Aggravates me because their staffing structure is wack. This Is Why I Shop At Sephora There's always someone at the cash register Anyhoo - bought my color and promptly bounced. MAC needs a better set up. I am writing this review not for MAC, but for a MAC artist named TRANAE SHOOPMAN. This beautiful lady is the exception to the MAC rule. She is an extremely gifted artist who specializes in Photographic make up, weddings, special occasion and FANTASY make up! I RECOMMEND her outside of the MAC store as she is limited there. This is my personal view. I am a pin up model and music entertainer and she is my personal make up artist. YOU HELPED MAKE MY DAY EVEN MORE SPECIAL!!!! Attempted to make several appointments for the day of my wedding which was 8/23/14 but they had some big event taking place so there were no open times. So I get there at 10 am when they open up to have eyelashes applied. I don't remember who I worked with I believe it's Brittany but she obviously could see the look of distress on my face and I told her I was getting married and everything seem to be going wrong that day, I had been crying all morning running errands.....she not only had some very encouraging words but she asked me could she make my face up.... I don't wear makeup so I had no idea what was going on what to pick and she didn't ask she just went to work. She carefully explained everything she was doing those brushes were gone to work. I've been to MAC a few times to get my makeup done for special events and to also purchase products. If you go to get your makeup done you will love it! Every artist obviously has a different style but honestly you really can't complain about any of them. While getting your makeup done you will hear many stories about boy/work/school/family drama needless to say its entertaining! I've had many of the artist and every time I am satisfied. When doing your make up the artist explains what and how they are using their products. The only down fall is that you need to purchase $40 worth of products to get your make up done and so you feel that pressure and can't really just enjoy the pampering. I love the product and how they offer the service of getting your make up done because who doesn't love not having to do our own makeup. All in all I really recommend MAC and the services they offer. read more

I absolutely love the Fairfield Mac. I have become a regular at this location and do not shop at any other MAC stores because the makeup artist at this location provide excellent customer service. Being that I am a regular I have my favorite girls that I visit frequently. The first artist I met at this location was Brittany Barnett. She is so amazing! She taught me all the basics I needed to know to get my makeup career started. Every time I visit MAC she takes the time to shows me a new makeup tip to help advance my application skills one visit at a time. Before meeting Brittany I probably spent $50 on makeup a year - now I spend around $300 a month. Lauren Varga has been doing my makeup for special events for about 4/5 years. Lauren is an amazing makeup artist. She is able to apply makeup in way that makes your skin look amazing in photos (after all isn't that the whole point) hehe. I have never taken a bad photo when my makeup is done by Lauren, and for that I am forever grateful. Grace Rangel recently did my makeup for a Christmas function that I attended - and I LOVED my makeup. She provided me with an over the top excellent MAC experience and my makeup looked amazing. I have attached a photo of the makeup she did for me. I absolutely loved her energy and her artistic abilities she applied during my makeup session. Cecily Comer is another fabulous MAC artist. She is always whiling to help me find new fun makeup and teach me how to create new looks for myself. Cecily always provides me with a upbeat positive shopping experience at MAC. Needles to say, I LOVE the Fairfield MAC counter. Brittany, Lauren, Grace, and Cecily are the girls I visit the most and have come to love but the entire staff truly is amazing. read more

It's so convenient that it's only 5 minutes away from home, but a little inconvenient for my wallet. I've visited this location several times and haven't experienced anything bad with customer service. The associates are always so helpful, besides the fact that I'm the most indecisive person ever. I stay in there for 30 minutes only to purchase one lipstick. Yeah, I'm that girl -_-. If you want to try on a lipcolor, just ask them and they'll clean it for you before you put them on. I thought they were very knowledgeable too, suggesting which lipliner would go well with a certain lip color or what eyeshadow would suit a specific look. HOWEVER...we were in and out in under fifteen minutes, and the makeup artist was very knowledgeable about the products and about "makeup science" (you know...cool and warm tones, oily vs dry skin, the stuff you need a Bachelors in Makeup for). On top of all of that: he had a great personality! Kept us laughing and having a good time, even though my niece was dreading getting matched. They also did an amazing job with her Prom makeup and Senior Portrait makeup. I highly recommend the MAC counter and ESPECIALLY MUA Steven! read more

I bought something and tried to return it 7 days later, the girl at the counter said she couldnt take it back cause it looked "too used." How much foundation can you possibly use in a week? I go to the cash register to get help with color matching on a foundation the guy at the register said sure I can help you just have a seat. He then went to another costumer and started helping her. It took 30 minutes!! 30 MINUTES!!! He finished with the lady and came said what do you need help with I told him again I need to be color matched he said ok I'll be right back then I waited another 5 minutes. I was frustrated so I went to go look for him he was with another customer!!! I just walked out. I just got off of work and my time is very valuable. Huge waste of time! read more

This location sucks beyond repair! Every single time I go there, they are always out of the foundation for darker skin. I went 3 times over a 2 week period and they kept saying they would get some in but of course it never arrived. They have a slew of white and cream colored foundation but anything darker than a paper bag they never have. I'm beyond disgusted with this location and I have no idea who is in charge because the manager was never there when I went... guess I'll continue going to the Sacramento location since they seem to cater to everyone of all skin tones. FYI Mac cosmetics are awesome... it's this location that is full of crappy sales associates, I wouldn't even be surprised if they have the foundation I needed but just wanted to be an ass and not sell it to me. read more

I've been using Mac for years now and absolutely love the product and (usually) the artists that work there. I say 'usually' because the service I get at this location always disappoints me. I only continue to go because it's the closest Mac to where I live. Two days ago, I went in with a friend to get re-matched for my foundation and the girl who helped me barely looked at me, patted foundation on my cheek extremely quick and said "that's the one", and walked away. She didn't seem that interested to help at all and barely put any product on my face for me to even see. Overall, that's the kind of service I get when I go into that store. Nobody looks happy and it's just not the kind of environment I like being in when buying makeup. I'm thinking next time I'll take the drive to the Concord location. read more

Jeron is THE ONE! I had a make up appointment at 11 on Thursday 12/18 and was done by 12:15. I had no idea what I was going for but I trusted his judgment, after all he is a make up artist! He was very friendly and easy to talk to. It started to get busy so he had to tend to other customers which I understood because they only had a few workers on the floor. I had gone in to get my make up done for a work event that took place at 7pm that night and I swear, my make up looked even better as the the day went on! I absolutely love MAC cosmetics but the customer service absolutely sucks here. They are just so rude! I went in today asking for a specific color and I asked one of the girls she instantly said no that color doesn't exist.. I showed her a picture of the actual lipstick and she said she will look for it and let me know. I waited for a few minutes and nothing. .. noticed she started helping someone else. So I ask her if there was any luck and she just said no it doesn't exist it has filter's on it, how she's worked at 2 pro store's and never heard of it . Then walked away.. so I ended up giving my sale to someone else.. I shouldn't have even bought anything and waited to go to the Concord one who knows customer service... But I needed it!! Came home and looked online and it is real!! I'm guessing she just didn't really want to look for it!
