The professionalism, the kindness, the responsiveness, the patience, the SKILL!…read more As someone of African descent (African Jamaican), I was having a hard time finding someone with a professional presence online to book for my special day. I just happened to stumble on Lala's instagram, saw her work, and instantly knew I needed to work with her. My mother in law, who never wears makeup, was feeling herself. My mother could not get out of the mirror. My maid of honor, who loves makeup herself, could not stop singing her praises. My husband appreciated her attentiveness as the groom. I, the bride, felt like a queen the entire day. From trial to day, Lala was thoughtful, communicative, professional, and just an amazing person to be around. She answered all my questions, made recommendations re: skin care, was on time, and was just FUN to be around! She even helped calm me down when I was being pulled in different directions She was even so kind as to squeeze in a guest who needed some makeup help. Was not expected, but she was definitely appreciated. Even that guest was impressed! If you want someone who will work closely with the rest of your team, knows what they're doing, is an absolute gem of a woman -- you need to book her. Completely worth it. One of the best investments of my day! Absolutely nothing went wrong, and she definitely contributed to that. She's going to be my go to if I ever need some glam. I don't even do makeup like that, but she's so good she's converted me!

I booked a hair appointment with Meli and provided her several reference videos clearly showing the…read morelook I wanted to achieve. After spending more than 6 hours in the chair, I left with hair that looked completely different from the videos I provided. She even acknowledged that the final result was not what I had originally requested. What concerned me was that throughout the appointment, she repeatedly consulted another stylist on how to approach my hair. While there is nothing wrong with asking for a second opinion, it left me questioning whether she was fully confident in performing the look i had asked for. Had she been upfront from the beginning about not feeling comfortable or experienced enough to achieve the look I wanted, I would have appreciated that honesty and made a different decision before committing to the service. However, because she felt the color "looked good" by her standards, she believed I should have to pay full payment. I expressed my disappointment as I would now need to pay another stylist to correct the color and achieve the look I originally requested but no accommodation was offered other than "I can give you the color formulas I mixed." Overall, this experience was frustrating because I invested significant time and money, communicated my expectations clearly, and still left with hair I didn't like and no meaningful effort to make things right. While she may have been satisfied with the final result, client satisfaction should matter just as much.
