I purchase a lot of make up from mac. I recently made a big purchase at another location and one item didn't make it in my bag. I went into the Culver City location with my receipt on my hand. I explained the situation to the person at the counter who was not accommodating at all. She explained I needed to go to the store I made the purchase from. I don't understand that because they are a corporation not independently owned. I asked to speak to a manger. The manager was even less help. I said can you call the store where I purchased the items? She said NO I CANT! I asked the name of their store manager and district manager. I was given the names Ashley and Roxy. And given an 800 number. When I left I called the location where I made purchase (which is not close to my home). They were very kindly said no problem. We will have it for you on hold at the front. I understand the issue of inventory. But they have to have some sort of system in place. What really upset me is they didn't attempt to help me at all. On 6/16/2022 I visited this location because I was interested in purchasing some product. The moment my 3 years old daughter and I entered the store we were greeted by a beautiful African American and Asian American girl. I was so impressed with their level of customer service these to ladies gave us. They were so kind to my daughter and allowed her to experience make up. I am a loyal customer to this location! She is very patient and went above and beyond to meet my last minute needs, I wholeheartedly appreciate her for making my experience at this specific location one to remember!!! I scheduled a WOW 15 min free make up session. Had a very vague sense of what it consists of so I called and the woman over the phone told me "a full face of light make up" perfect, that's what I want! I go in today before my birthday party. I informed the woman I was here for my appointment and she started discussing all of these options and told me my make up artist Romy would let me know more. I sit in my chair and she starts. About 30 min in I tell her hey how much longer as I didn't think it would be this long. She then tells me she thought I was doing the $100 make up I told her no. She seemed pretty upset. She finishes my eyes and eyebrows and putting the lashes I purchased there then I spend 15 min doing my powders and all the rest I need to do. I go to pay and Romy tells me she will be flagging my account since I didn't pay for her service. FLABBERGASTED! Not only was her vibe TERRIBLE, her customer service, explanations of the service were non existent. Her attitude was just wow and not representative of the MAC I used to know and love. AND Romy is a manager?? Man, let me tell you. Never would I make someone feel the way she did to me today for my birthday. This is CLEARLY an issue of miscommunication on their part. When I asked her if her supervisor could give me a call she responded with "she won't but you can call and try to talk to her" LOL ok Romy, like I don't have something better to do with my time except chase a supervisor down for your teams mistake. Mind you this MAC is inside a Macy's and they do not sell individual palettes. My cousin & I were looking for some make up for her wedding so where do we go? MAC! I know it's overrated but we really needed the liquid last eyeliner which WILL stay on all day long. It's very hard for us to find a good eyeliner because we have oily lids so as you know it will come off within an hour or so. LIQUIDLAST eyeliner will not fail you because you seriously need make up remover or a whole day to pass before it starts fading. The only thing is, it takes a while to dry so if you have a mono lid it'll take about 30 seconds to dry & I recommend blotting it just to see if it's dry yet. You should also have an oil based make up remover just in case you mess up because this stuff is potent! I love it & will never use another eyeliner for as long as the line is available. Oh wow, see how much I love that eyeliner? The customer service is pretty great, we were greeted and asked if we needed any help as soon as we walked up to the counter. We didn't need any help because I had an idea of what I wanted but when we needed brushes the girls weren't snobby at all. They were def. more than willing to give up a brush which is awesome! A lot of people I've experienced at MAC are somewhat snobby but you won't get that here. The staff also helped us out with a base without pushing anything on us which I also love! Great service! It was my nieces surprise birthday party and I wanted to take her to MAC and get her make up done. When I called I asked if I could make an appointment, they said they take appointments 3 weeks in advance! Yikes! They offered us to be walk ins and wait to be taken. We got there and was told to come back in 15 minutes to put our name on the "walk in" list. That was confusing so I talked to Roni the manager. He said the walk in list was not open and I had gotten incorrect information. That was annoying but he did say that is we wanted to come back and see if anyone canceled and no one wanted to come from the walk in list, we could take the spot. We had dinner and came back and they accommodated up. I was thrilled. My niece's make up artist was Tasha. WOW! What a talent! This MAC store has the worst customer service of any cosmetic counter I've ever been to, and it is very disappointing. The sales associates are impatient, and very lacking in knowledge. They can also be very rude and unprofessional. I went in to return some overpriced cosmetic sponges today and get my free lipstick for having my 6 empty containers. The first sales associate said I could return the sponges with no problem, but to pick my lipstick first. Then she went on a break, so I had to deal with a very insincere associate. I asked her to clean a lipstick for me and she basically had me clean it myself...something the sales associates are supposed to do for health purposes. They were out of the lipstick I wanted (and several times they've been out of products). When it came time to do my return, she went through all kinds of dumb changes and had to ask her manager (even though I told her the other sales associate gave the okay). The manager also gave her the okay, but as she was doing the return, this male associate came behind her talking all kinds of smack and questioning my return (like I couldn't CLEARLY hear what he was saying even though my return was NONE of his business!) He was so rude I finally asked him "is there some problem?" Only then did he shut up. On top of that he was talking crap about other customers. Very unprofessional. The associates are not very good at matching colors to your skin. Once this woman gave me a studio fix that was so dark I looked like I fell through a chimney (my friends told me so). When I returned it and told the same woman it was too dark she got offended. Beware that if something you try doesn't quite work for you, they may give you this "Oh well, I don't know what to tell you" look and leave you hanging. (I've experienced this a few times) Anyway, I could go on and on...but my point is, pick another MAC counter to go to. The one in Nordstroms in the Westside Pavillion is great! I always have a great experience there. I also like the actual MAC store in El Segundo. The Fox Hills one is a waste and Macy's needs to do some damage control. 034/100 read more

I am not a beauty junkie but I must admit that I love Mac. I came here on two occasions to get my makeup done. The first time was for my engagement photos. The makeup artist was Yoko. She was very friendly and professional. I did not have an appointment, but she accommodated me and made me look beautiful! I wanted a natural look and she achieved it. The second time, I needed my makeup done for my bridal shower. I made an appointment. When I arrived to my appointment, my artist was Yoko again! She did a great job. I love her work! This by far was the best experience Ive had at Mac(and I didnt even by anything). The manager Carlisha(I believe that was her name) was absolutely as sweet as she is beautiful. Some of my and her favorites have been discontinued for quite sometime. Walked in here last night and knew exactly what I wanted so I had no reason to think things would go any other way other than quickly. I WAS WRONG. Stood there, awkwardly waiting for about 10 minutes with a few others while two boys stood behind the counter doing something on a clipboard (I will call them clipboard boy number 1 and 2) and another lady helped someone. Finally, she was done but stayed behind the counter taking her sweet time to put something on hold for the lady she was just helping. I mean seriously, does it take 5 minutes to put one piece of makeup in a bag, write someones name on a paper, and staple it to the bag? After she was done with that she stayed back there for a while, lip singing to herself while clipboard boy number 1 stopped his clipboard work long enough to help a couple of ladies that were there before me. Finally I was like, "Can I get some help?". Annoyed she responds, "We'll be with you soon" and leers at me for a second after she says it. Remember clipboard boy number 2? Well he went to the back, never to be seen again for the remainder of the 20 minutes I was there. In the meantime, an older woman in her 50's walks up with orange hair, glasses, and thee worst makeup I have ever seen on her cell phone and walks straight to the back. Apparently she worked at this MAC too. Well when she came back out you better believe that cell phone was attached to her face for another 5 minutes while she rearranged things on a counter...in the store. At this point it's been about 20 minutes and not so much as a "we'll be right with you". Finally I got some help from clipboard boy number 1. He was nice but definitely doesn't get the gold star for the best and most helpful makeup experience. Probably because he was the only one doing anything at that point and there were others waiting. I may have bought more but honestly didn't think anyone in this store deserved the commission. I will never be back. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a MAC product at another location across town in LA, and when I got home I realized that they had pulled the wrong shade of foundation from the back. It was my bad for not double checking. I brought the product to the MAC store at the Fox Hills mall that's close by, rather than driving for an hour to get to the one where I originally purchased it. The woman behind the counter told me flatly that you cannot return MAC products to different MAC stores, regardless of whether or not you have a receipt. She did not even try to be helpful or nice. The employees who work at the MAC store inside of Macy's need to work on their customer service. I came in at 2:50pm on Saturday. No long lines. I tried on makeup for 15 mins. No one came to assist me or said hello. As a matter of fact any minority who came to try on makeup were not acknowledge. I went to the cash register, and waited behind a paying customer. After the customer finished paying for her items. The employee quickly walked away from her registered. Not even "I'll be right back, did you need some help" nothing!!! I'm a regular and get my makeup done by Cristina (the girl with the colorful hair and pretty tattoos). She is GREAT! Not only do I always walk out of there super content with my look, she also explains step by step what she is applying to my face and the purpose for it. I've learned quite some interesting tricks here n there :) As soon as we are done, I feel like I need to purchase everything she just put on me. She is so nice and is always so sweet to everyone! Anywho, she tried new shades on me and convinced me to purchase a foundation with my powder I wanted. One of the associates suggested I try a red lip shade And i usually dnt like that color on my lips cause its kinda loud, but she said it was new and comes out different on everyone.
