The initial visit was nice enough - the technician was decent. My face was shiny and glowy, likey due to the series of oil based products. The tech used an Ulta quality electric stimulating device. Upon returning for another treatment, the demand that I agree to my photo being taken before and after was stated. No ifs, ands, buts. The staff seems to have no knowledge of right to privacy and aggressively asserted their "policy" that I agree or no service for you. One of the staffers even called security because I would not agree and asked for the law this policy was based upon. Needless to say, I am done with this company. I had the Hydrate + Glow facial with Malaika and left very happy! Malaika was friendly and asked prep questions prior to starting the facial, which was much appreciated. The facial included a double cleanse, oxygen, microdermabrasion, extraction (which didn't hurt as badly as other places I've been to) and some light therapy. The person who helped me check in and out was also very sweet and helpful. When I was done, my skin was a little red but it went down quickly. Wasn't the place for me. For 30 mins you get a quick facial that while made my skin feel good, I didn't feel there was any customization for my specific skin concerns. The facialist quickly asked before what my concerns were, then just went into the facial without even examining my skin, which I thought was odd and for the price felt like I was missing out. It was also very dark in the room so after treatment it was hard to tell. The red light therapy is a bit much and wasn't comfortable to sit through. They also had zero eye protection for red light or the treatment in general so after treatment when I opened my eyes they were stinging because a product likely got in my eyes. I much prefer a tailored facial experience with better care for a better price. read more

This place is super cute and the staff was nice but it definitely wasn't worth the $180. They used a bunch of cool machines but there really wasn't anything super in-depth about the facial at all. I have a feeling this place is for people with good skin who just need a glow or moisture, NOT for people with problem/acne prone skin. I'm used to facials where you get all cozy in a robe and they really get in there and clean you out. The girl didn't even pop my pimples/blackheads, and used SO MUCH oil on my face, and every basic knowledge about acne prone skin is NO OIL, yes serums and all that good shit but oil is a big no no, I used to see a really good dermatologist in Beverlyhills, her results are amazing, and after seeing her I notice all the things that people do that directly contradict how to treat acne. Also wish they did dermaplane lol. Edit: I guess it's slightly my fault for not looking at pictures and such, there's absolutely no pictures with girls with problem skin lol, and don't see many reviews mentioning acne (and not just the occasional break out I mean consistent acne problems) so I'll add another star because of that. read more

This is a review specifically for the All-In Supers Facial at the Culver City/Steps location. I forget how I found out about Formula Fig, but it may have been an Instagram ad/suggested post. Looking into it, I thought it was an interesting concept - having a membership for skincare (or dropping in as non-members or members) and the prices seemed affordable, both for the memberships and the treatments for non-members - so, I made an appointment for myself at the Culver City location and treated myself to an All-In Supers Facial. The reason I picked that specific facial over the Collagen + Texture one was because it seemed more what my skin needed - sculpting, hydration, and exfoliation over fine lines & wrinkles. Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to try the Collagen + Texture one some other time. Pro-tip: There's currenly (as of June 2024) a sale where you can get this or the other facial (Collagen + Texture) for $100 off, which is a nice deal for new/first-time guests. I paid $65 for my All-In Supers Facial, instead of the $185 (because I had signed up for their membership and a new guest). You can find this coupon by using their chatbot and asking it for the first-time guest offer. More details about the first-time guest offer (that I used when I requested to have the appointment booked in May for a June date): New guests can receive $100 off their first Supers Facial (All-In or Collagen + Texture)*. Facial/Treatment Experience: - This is a 30 minute appointment and my Skin Educator made sure to complete everything (minus the sunscreen step, as I'd requested she forego that since I'd brought my own to apply) in 30 minutes (despite the late start on my end). - She explained everything she was doing, including the products and why each tool being utilised, and the benefits of it. - We went from having skin double cleansed, toned, exfoliated via the Diamond-Tip Microdermabrasion, application of a microcurrent serum and having Microcurrents applied, then an Ultrasound stimulation, to a red oil applied for the LED Light Therapy, and finally a moisturiser at the end, followed by a facial massage, and what would have been the sunscreen application step. My skin was glowing for a few hours after my appointment - it did take a while for all the products to absorb into my skin, but my partner remarked how fresh, refreshed, and clean I looked. Location: Facing the street, right next to Erehwon, is the emerald green store of Formula Fig. Walking in, you're greeted by someone at the front desk, surrounded by all the products they offer, merchandise, and sparkling/still water options. There's a hallway that leads to enclosed rooms or "pods" as they call it, where your Skin Educator and you begin your treatment. Service: - Front desk/lobby: Very friendly concierge who asked me what I'd like to drink and then I was introduced to my Skin Educator and taken to the pod where I'd get my facial. Since I was 4 minutes late into my treatment, I'd made sure to call and inform them that I was running behind schedule, but thankfully I got there within the grace period. - Skin educator (aesthetician): Very professional but knowledgeable about skincare, taking the time to understand my skin, skincare routine, and ensuring that the treatment would help me. I let my Skin Educator know that I'm allergic to a specifc sunscreen ingredient (and made sure to bring my own sunscreen for that very reason). Tips are welcome but not required. Parking: At the moment, the Steps lot has 1 hour free parking built into the system, so there's no validation required (currently) for that hour. Late policy: You have a 10 (ten) minute late policy, but please call their store and let them know that you'll be running late (within that grace period or beyond it) so that they can ensure there's minimal impact to you and any other appointment in the same pod as yours afterwards. Note: I had questions about my plan so I called & talked to someone at Formula Fig, and was explicitly told that they don't believe in "extractions". However, they do offer an optional Ultrasonic Skin Slider service for both treatments, as part of my membership, that's for congested skin and is a type of extraction. I was informed that while the Skin Educator would make that judgement the day of the treatment, if I requested it, they would be sure to include it. Pro-tip: From a safety and privacy concern, you will notice that (on website at least), there are call-outs for photos being taken. Please exercise your rights (especially if you're in CA - you can exercise CCPA & CPRA) to opt-out of your photo being taken and request for any photos you have had taken to be deleted. I can't speak to what safety and privacy methods Formula Fig adopts for storing your photo, and while it may help your skin journey, I'd advice against a database with you biometric data being collected & managed by a corporation. read more

Ever since I moved to LA, my skin has been so damaged. I don't know if it's the water or the dry air, but I've tried several facials and products and they seem to make them worse. So after researching. I learned about FIGand finally mustard up the courage to go. I got the all in. I did not have a bad reaction to my facial, which gives me hope. My skin is so sensitive and everyone there was so nice. They answered all my questions and informed me the whole way through even at the end when they recommended products they explained everything and I was happy to purchase them. I even called after to make sure I was using the products right and they were happy to answer.I will be back every four weeks and I can't wait to show you how the products are working combined with the facials.
