We tried to call-no answer, so left voicemails. When there was no response to two voicemails, we went to the business and the attendant's response was a very flippant "there must've been a mix up". She did provide a replacement cart and I asked her to please have the manager call me. We were disappointed that we lost an hour and a half of our last day of vacation due to the company's error and a manager never called me back. It is more than 24 hours later and I've still heard nothing back-not for the first 2 voice messages or the request to speak to a manager. Very disappointing. My family rents several carts here yearly. We will find another company.

We paid for six days of tent setup but received only three full days and one partial day. I understand their website states setups may be canceled due to inclement weather, and I completely understand that when conditions are actually unsafe. However, it felt like "inclement weather" was being used as a blanket excuse. On two days, the morning rain had cleared by around 10:00 a.m. and turned into beautiful beach days, yet we were told they weren't setting up because of the weather. Meanwhile, we watched multiple other rental companies come out and set up equipment, including umbrellas. Our rental was a pop-up tent secured with weighted buckets, so it was especially frustrating to watch umbrellas being put up all around us while being told the weather prevented our tent from being set up. On the final day, I asked multiple times before they eventually set up our tent around 2:00 p.m., after most of the beach day was gone. The employee who did the setup was friendly and did a great job. My issue is with the company's decisions and paying for six days of service we simply didn't receive. We will use one of the other rental companies in the future.

What a relief it is to have this trouble taken care of for you prior to your arrival on the beach. The chairs are sturdy and recline. Though the umbrellas are good for shade, this year they were placed closed together and they didn't stay in place. This year's set seemed quite pricey for what we got. However I realize times are hard with coronavirus and whatnot.

We happened upon this shop (via the advice of locals). Mike put it together quickly, for free, and wouldn't let us give him any money. He was not only generous, but he was a good guy. He had a gentle, easy way about him - striking up genuine conversation with all of his visitors, like he was an old friend. I recommend either of his two shops to anyone visiting the OBX. I rarely give perfect scores to businesses. They most certainly deserve it. I heard him helping other people ahead of us in line and he knows his stuff.
