That was fun. Great lesson. Wished I'd been able to be on the water all day to get a better hang of it. I'll have to do it again

Northbeach Water Sports - Some of our party being guided back in after their time on the water

We had a party of 9, 7 of us parasailing and 2 observers. Our youngest parasailer was 8 but our 4 year old observer will fly next year! I was a little hesitant about how scary parasailing would be for the littles but it was a calm take off and return, the time up there was peaceful. Captain Pierre gives you the option of dipping your feet in (or more!) and their precision is on point! Shipmate Hailey takes all the photos and equips you with the go pro (worth the splurge!) and they capture the greatest moments. These memories will last a lifetime time! The main booth area where you pay is also a little bait shop, which was nice because we did bring fishing poles on board. The staff was young and friendly, keeping with the vibe of similar watersports rental places in the area. There's a pretty long dock from the check in hut to the pontoon boats. I wish we knew of this in advance because it wasn't the best for the disabled seniors we brought with us. One of our party members is blind in one eye and has depth perception problems. The lack of consistent railings made it so we had to flank her on either side so she didn't accidentally walk off the dock. All of our seniors would have wished for a few more places to rest. I know the dock is only approximately .2 miles long, which is no problem for the average person in good health. We rented the pontoon with our senior family members in mind, as they weren't able to participate in the other water activiities we did. Boarding on and off the boat was also not senior friendly. My great aunt struggled to get in and out of the boat. An attendant tried to help her, but was not well versed in how to assist seniors with standing. She ended up getting moderately hurt and bruised from the experience. While we were riding, the boat cut power a few times. That was a bit scary, but fortunately, there's staff on jet skis out there ready to help. We were back in business within minutes of each issue. Overall, the experience was very fun. The boat is well maintained. It was a bit of a squeeze for our party of 15, but if you have 8 or less, it would be extremely spacious accomodations. There was plenty of room for our coolers and fishing gear. We had plenty of time to cruise in the boat, to anchor it (they provided a HUGE anchor, all things considered), jump off the boat into the warm sound for a swim, fish, get some sun (or shade, as the boat is well covered), & have a lunch. With the time we had, we did everything we were looking to do. We didn't catch any fish, but that wasn't our main goal. Our main goal was to get our family out on the boat and have some fun. We were able to do that. Overall, we had a great time. I would give it 5 stars if I returned and they found ways to make the experience more accessible for disabled people and seniors.

They're located right in Sandbridge next to Baja, so it was super convenient to grab a couple of pizzas to bring along for the ride. We even brought cupcakes to celebrate a birthday. Highly reccomend this. Ryan was our boat driver, and he couldn't have been nicer. He made sure we were comfortable, gave us just enough info about the area, and let us enjoy the views at our own pace. The back bay is stunning. The peaceful water, gorgeous skies, and when the sun started to set, it was absolutely beautiful. I think we all had one of those "wow, we live here" moments. I'd recommend bringing a sweatshirt, since it does get chilly once the sun goes down! One thing I loved was how many options Virginia Beach Watersports has. Besides the pontoons, they've got jet ski rentals, watersports, kayaks, stand up paddle boards ... you name it. One day I'll definitely be back to try a jet ski day, just not quite yet! And the location. Being right next to the Baja is great if you want to continue the fun after your boat ride! If you're looking for something fun to do with friends or family that feels a little different but relaxing, I can't recommend this enough. Great location, great staff, and a gorgeous night on the water.
