It's summer. It's hot. Our air conditioner is dead. As it got hotter in our home, we started calling around for help. Every HVAC company we called charged between $75.00 up to $135.00 to come out and LOOK at the unit. We begrudgingly paid that fee and got a ridiculous quote to either repair the unit $6500.00 for the compressor, coil, and labor or replace it for $12.000. Now we know what the problem is it's time to get second opinions and quotes. Back to the fees for coming out to LOOK at it!! Then we called Mac 5. They waived the fee. 5 stars for being decent! Their technician Juan comes over. He was straightforward and clear, thorough and honest. 5 stars for being totally professional. He explained how we got into this mess in the first place. The unit wasn't installed properly. He bent over backward to get us cooled off quickly. Mac 5 was ready to do the work the same day! 5 stars for speed and efficiency. Juan gave us several affordable options to replace the unit, walked us through finance options, and made us feel confident in the service we were being offered. This is how businesses that serve the community are supposed to be. Not money grabbing and bending you over a barrel when they know you are desperate. It's why people hate having to call a so-called professional! I would give Juan and Mac 5 100 stars if it were possible. Don't even bother calling around. MAC 5 is the best!!! I can't thank Ryan Bateman enough for his amazing service and honesty. He was professional and cheerful. He answered all of my questions and explained everything clearly and thoroughly. My son has special needs and I asked if the technician would wear a mask, and Ryan actually stopped to purchase masks to honor my request. I can go on and on. Mac5 will be on my speed dial for any plumbing, electrical, air and heating needs. The scheduler was courteous, as was Ryan. He arrived on time and I like the brightly colored polo's, which is a nice touch in distinguishing Mac5 from other companies. The knowing that I can have one go to company for other services make it even better. Had a leak in my water heater. MAC 5 responded quickly and technician was very friendly and helpful. After discount I was charged $2938. a couple days later my plumber saw the new water heater and asked about it. He was appalled at what I paid. He would have done the same job for $1400. Researching other plumbers they all would have charged $1400 to $1600. MAC 5 was double that. When questioned about the charge MAC 5 said they charge a straight 50% for labor and parts, 40% for operational expenses (maintaining staff and lights. He said a large company has to charge more) and 10% profit. When asked for an itemized statement they don't give itemized statements, it's straight 50%,40%,10%. What price did they base these percentages on? A water heater costs about $600. How did they come up with $2400 more. Do some research before going with MAC 5. I wish I had. read more

The customer representative who took the original service request was considerate and caring. She squeezed me for emergency AC Service repair on a very busy calendar day. The AC Service technician did a perfunctory initial assessment and within 5 minutes had the issue resolved. So kudos on having Julian Daily as a knowledgeable technician. Good customer service, fast response, and a very can do attitude for both the company and its technician Now for the flip side, more so, on the company's prices. Although there is excellent customer service, knowledgeable technicians, same day response, and a very can do attitude; the price for the 5 minute visit was a little steep (almost 400.00 dollars). After an unpleasant evening & night dealing with no air conditioning in this Fl heat & a call to the company that had installed my AC 3 yrs pior & their promise to send a repairman in 4 days??? I contacted Mac 5 Services who immediately offered a repair tech appointment within a couple of hours!!! Juan arrived just as promised, immediately began his diagnostics & within a very short time, provided me with a complete quote to get me up & running. Our ac started blowing hot air, and in this heat we have been sweating. I called Mac5 and was able to get a technician out same day to evaluate our issue. It turns out that we will need a whole new unit, but George was very kind and friendly through the consultation. He checked out our current system and he knew right away what the problems were. George is very knowledgeable in his craft and answered all of my questions throughly and helped talk me through my options for solutions. He is very patient and did made sure I was well informed to make the best decision for my home and my family. Installation process was a nightmare, I don't believe the personnel who did the job are even qualified, it took them over a week to figure out my new a/c system to get it working, they even changed parts they didn't have to, they also loss parts and they overlooked a lot of details during the installation process, it wasn't even safe. They had to come back to fix everything they missed and they still have to come back to repair the poor job on the duct sealing as well because is leaking, I would definitely never recommend them to anyone. I had a terrible experience with MAC 5 Services: Plumbing, Air Conditioning. They installed a defective Goodman AC system in my home, and their service has been completely unprofessional. Despite multiple visits to address the issue, they kept rescheduling appointments, seemingly to let the warranty run out. Now, they refuse to replace the faulty system or even remove it from my home. I reached out to Goodman directly, and they referred me back to the installer, who has proven incapable of fixing the issue they caused. I called this company to replace a faulty breaker. Mario and his assistant came out to the house to fix my issue. They were prompt, courteous and efficient in their work. They did a thorough walk through my house and inspected everything. George came out and looked at my AC, he went over everything with me and took alot of time explaining the work that needed to be done to my system. Our Service Tech, Chris Detwiler, was knowledgeable with +15 years experience working in both commercial and residential settings. He inspected our homes' power, panels, grounds, wiring, etc. He was well versed and effective in both collecting and explaining the recommendations based on the results from the inspection. Part of our discussion was on the latest electrical codes and how they impact our home. Contacted Mac 5 Services for an estimate for a a few electrical projects at my residence. Patrick was the field tech that came out. After explaining what I was looking to have done, Patrick was great in explaining on how the work would be perfomed and even suggested a few things to assist with the project. I would not recommend, they tried to sneak in a additional fee of 200.00 for a 5% discount and had a hard time getting the technician to add the military or the sheriff's discount of 10%. Also after they received payment then they came up with an excuse that they couldn't fix the ac for 5 days in the Florida heat being they didn't have a technician that could do it till then. Honestly we will never again use this company if our ac breaks again, we will look elsewhere. read more

Seth came out to figure our why our heat pump offered no heat. The unit was installed in July...at that time, we didn't think to test the heat. Seth went straight to work and found a wiring issue, and fixed it on the spot. Seth is professional, knowledgeable, a good communicator, and a solid, quiet worker.
