    Lunch Menü Rice with tofu

First sketchy thing: The location - on the map it seems to be central but when you actually walk there you'd think it's in a garage or something Second sketchy thing: The price - seriously its so cheap that you might thing the quality must be so shitty, the portions so small or you get diarrhea the next day. 5€ for a whole lunch meal with two spring rolls. 6€ for Chinese duck with vegetables shrimps and so on. What? Now the surprise: the meal size was ok, the taste not bad and quality for that price also ok. Overall unbeatable price to value ratio! If you work or live close by or are on a budget this is your spot! Don't expect a cozy interior or great service when you pay that price.

This is a hidden gem!!! The price is so affordable you would not believe it. Food is great and will definitely be back when I'm in Berlin! Plus they serve beer bintang!

Hidden gem alert: 5 stars for perfect execution of cheap, authentic, Indonesian food. The food was outstanding & freshly prepared by the order. I'm glad I went to Tuk-tuk prior & not afterwards- I would have been disappointed by the food quality comparison. Tuktuk is good & a bit more upgraded atmosphere... But now this is my new favorite Indonesian. The restaurant is really no-frills, bells or whistles at all...do not get dolled up to come here... Just bring your appetite, cash (no debit/credit cards accepted), and a positive attitude. Reservations are a good idea because the seating is extremely limited..My Date & i Lucked out & got seats....I think we were the only non-Indonesian patrons there. . Yum!!

Maybe these yelp reviews set expectations too high or I simple wasn't super lucky with my order (Tofu and Green Bean Curry and Chicken Satay). The food was good but not outstanding and the portion was rather small. Maybe that was because it was take out? The menue is not very extraordinairy and even though I've never been to an Indonesian restaurant before (not speaking of Indonesia haha) I didn't find much new or interesting items on the menu that I wouldn't have seen somewhere else before. What surprised me was that she asked me if I minded a little wait because they needed to cook rice. I was there around 6.45pm, so perfect dinner time and the restaurant was fairly busy but not super crowded. Anyhow, I can recommend to go at least once to try, since the food is good in taste but I wouldn't make this my new weekly hangout. PS: The prices are fairly cheap!

Nasi goreng ayam, gulai tofu (vegetable curry) and ayam pecel - delicious!

Traveling from Brunei and happened upon this cute Indonesian restaurant. I wasn't expecting to get such delicious, authentic Indonesian food so far from South East Asia! I had the ayam pecel (fried chicken with spicy sambal with rice, tofu and tempeh) and my husband had the nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice). We both left feeling very satisfied! The service was also impeccable - super friendly and fast. We met the owner who was quirky, funny and very welcoming. All in all, we had a great time and would easily recommend this to anyone!

Quick, filling, and scrumptious first encounter with Indonesian food! I had the rendang, a classic Indonesian dish consisting of braised beef and green beans coated in a paste with ginger, chili, and spices. I barely finished my dish and could not move for a good 10 minutes. My boyfriend had the duck orange, a fried duck breast in a tasty orange glaze, which was also delicious. We arrived around 19:00 and grabbed the very last spot outside, in the little straw hut. It was a random Tuesday night and a line started forming for the restaurant shortly after we arrived. Mabuhay is evidently a favorite among locals, so get there early!

Ayam rica-rica (Spicy rica2 sauced fried chicken)

Indonesian dishes are pretty well presented. As a native Indonesian, dishes with chilli sauce (sambal terasi, cabe ijo, sambal pecel, etc) are incredible! You can also request the level of spicyness to be increased (scharf) if you really can handle it. One negative side is there are only a few tables there. The place is not spacious (big). I suggest you to book a table if you want to go there. Usually there are many people coming during peak hours for lunch (12.00 -13.30) or dinner (19.00 - 20.00).

Was there this evening with my friends, we ordered Sop Iga (ribs soup), Rendang, Batagor, Sambel goreng udang (fried shrimp with chili). Rendang and batagor were really good, sambal goreng udang was also good but quite oily.. And the price there are really worth to try!!!

Very authentic Indonesian food! Ayam Pecek is my favourite, be careful though, it is spicy even for a Malaysian myself. :)

Excellent authentic cuisine provided by friendly hosts. The setting is not exactly pristine however the overall experience makes up for it.

The food is on the heavier side, but that is probably to be expected with street styled Indonesian food.

Easily overlooked, hidden just off, Potsdamer Strasse, in a side street called Großgörschenstrasse,…read moreyou will find this gem of an Indonesian Restaurant. On the outside Tuk Tuk has a rickety bamboo façade and on the inside I would best describe it as having this sort of dated charm about it with a bit of shabbiness village feel thrown in. Almost showing my age here! The restaurant is divided into little rooms so you have an even chance of an intimate setting regardless of the numbers in your party. When we were there, the place was surprisingly full with customers of all ages. The family sitting nearby seemed like regulars as the kids knew exactly what they wanted and how spicy they did or did not want their food. What can I say the food is delicious! There are so many Asian restaurants out there quintessentially serving the same stuff...not here! I started off with a rose flavoured drink with lychees, only because it sounded interesting and I was curious as to how it might taste. It was surprisingly good, I half expected an over perfumed beverage. Thankfully not! For starters we went with the Orange Chicken off the 'specials' menu (sorry I can't remember the price of that dish) and the Rissoles (€4) filled with a chicken ragout and vegetables. Both were appetizing, the orange sauce was really good... I mean it was an orange sauce, something I never really get too excited about but have to say this was thumbs up situation. I followed this with Rawon Black Beef (€10) which wasn't as dark as I had envisioned, I imagined it to be black as night, but my over active imagination gave way to a melt in your mouth beef dish steeped in a rich brown spicy sauce so I was easily appeased. We also had a stir fried vegetable salad as a side dish... pretty average nothing special there otherwise I found the food totally agreeable. It suited my bf's palette too. He really liked the different lingering flavours of his Bebek Sayur Lodeh, which was duck in spicy chilli and coconut milk, also for around €10. He even remarked that he would definitely have that again and he doesn't get as excited about food as I do! We or rather I topped the meal off with Ketan Hitam, a black rice pudding laced with coconut milk and banana slices (€4.10) It was a lovely date night meal.

People are really friendly. My friend was a big fan of Indonesian kitchen. He was here for visiting me. so I brought him here. I never tired Indonesian food before anyway. So I ordered a dish with pawns.(see the pic below) It tasted really nice, but somehow feel like something is missing. The taste was a bit to light to me personal. Well, my friend he said he like it and that's the original taste from Indonesia. ( he has been there before). I was happy that he enjoyed it.

However, going back to the food then all the dishes I and my companies ordered were great, ranging from the amazing starters such as chicken sates (must try!) and spring roles, to the main course such as the chili Shanghai (seafood), or there is a dish with both shrimps and duck (fantastic!) or if you like spicy I can recommend gai grapau. For dessert I really like the coconut panna cotta with mango. The ambience is alright although quite busy with a lot of people and nice personal. Definitely a five star.
