Finally a legit all you can eat sushi spot that won't break the bank. This place didn't disappoint with so many items to enjoy from a variety of delicious appetizers, rolls, and fresh sushi. Lunch price is $29.99 and dinner is $36.99 (weekdays) or premium menu for $15 dollars more is so worth it. The premium sushi comes in the cute boat. The rice to fish ratio was good too! Spacious interior and friendly service. You must check them out. Even if you don't eat raw food there's plenty of cooked options. I was surprised their ramen was yummy too. Al la carte is also available.

Food was overall good and a decent selection for AYCE. My favs included the baked mussels, nigiri, no rice rolls, and carpaccio. I think a lot of their fried foods (tempura, popcorn scallop, fried oysters, and fried squid legs) had a thick batter which wasn't my favorite but every item came freshly cooked. Interior looked really nice with cute lanterns on the ceiling and neon lights on the walls. Service was quiet but attentive. Parking: free plaza lot

We tried this place during their soft opening, and wow, what a good experience with unbelievable quality for their all you can eat sushi! There is a lot of parking, the space is big inviting and very cute and clean. The servers extremely friendly and the sushi chefs were spot on hustling quick and delivered a great quality dish every single time. The premium sushi experience is definitely worth it come served on a wooden boat, the carpaccio's are so delicious and paired well with their toppings and sauces. But what really surprised us was the appetizers specifically the fried items, including the chicken and the fried dumplings tasty light fresh and delicious. 10 out of 10 will be back. Can't wait to try all the other items on the menu.

Tried the new AYCE spot Mabu Sushi & Ramen in El Monte and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety. Since there aren't many all you can eat sushi spots in the SGV, this was a nice addition to the area. Lunch starts at $30 and includes a large selection of sushi, appetizers, rolls, and ramen. We started with the sashimi salad, carpaccio, and tempura. The fish was fresh and generously portioned while the tempura was lightly fried and crispy. The nigiri had thick cuts of fish with a good rice to fish ratio. One of my favorite items was definitely the spicy tuna crispy rice -- flavorful with a nice kick and great texture from the crunchy rice. They also offer no rice roll options which was nice to see. The ramen was surprisingly solid too. The broth was rich, noodles were firm, and the bowls come in smaller portions so it's easy to try multiple items. The premium sushi boat was both aesthetic and delicious. Fish was buttery and melt in your mouth, and the fried shrimp head was chef's kiss. Overall a great option if you're craving AYCE sushi in the SGV area.

There's premium sushi served on a sushi boat... at an all-you-can-eat spot?! Maybe this new sushi place in El Monte is about to make AYCE sushi go viral The premium sushi boat comes with soft shell crab, wagyu sushi, sweet shrimp, and more luxe picks. Price? $29.99 lunch special $36.99 premium (includes the sushi boat) And for the kids? Ending the meal with a banana boat dessert IG: socalhkfoodies

I've seen plenty of social media posts about this spot, so I had to come and try it for myself. I really enjoyed the ambiance, it's a big, open space, and there weren't that many people here on a Wednesday. We ended up getting the premium option, which basically gave each person one set of premium items plus AYCE from the regular menu. I thought the selection was good, and the sushi quality was definitely above average, especially compared to many other AYCE sushi spots I've been to. I'd rate the quality somewhere between a 4 and 4.5, which is really good for AYCE. Some notable items I really enjoyed were the mussels, fried oysters, and all the tuna and salmon sushi. All of the premium items were quite good, and the poke sashimi (carpaccio) were solid as well. The no-rice rolls (Sunrise & Anabolic roll) were light and refreshing. The special rolls were simple but good, though a bit heavy on rice, so you'll fill up quickly. I do like that many of the rolls come with only four pieces, that's a huge plus for AYCE, especially if you're dining with a smaller party. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I thought the price was reasonable for the quality, and having no wait is another big plus. Parking - Plenty as its in a huge lot that's almost never crowded.

TD Cafe closed after about a year and has now been replaced by Mabu AYCE Sushi. AYCE Pricing: Lunch (Mon-Fri): $29.99 (Premium $45.99) Weekend & Dinner: $36.99 (Premium $48.99) I ordered from the regular AYCE menu. You can order from the list up to three rounds. I asked if there was a time limit, and the waiter said we could stay until closing. There's a wide variety of options, including salads, appetizers, sushi, poke sashimi, no-rice rolls, fried rolls, baked rolls, specialty rolls, classic rolls, as well as ramen and udon. I didn't have enough room to try the noodles or specialty rolls. Overall, the food was decent--fresh enough for AYCE. I especially liked that they offer no-rice rolls. What I tried: ( = would order again) Yellowtail Tama (No Rice Roll) Salmon Tama (No Rice Roll) Sashimi Salad Seaweed Salad Shishito Peppers Organic Agedashi Tofu Takoyaki Crispy Squid Legs Fried Shumai Karaage Fried Chicken Dynamite Roll Yellowtail Collar Salmon Collar Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Unagi Yuzu Salmon Yuzu Tuna Smelt Egg Bay Scallop Seared Albacore Yellowtail Poke Sashimi - Salmon Carpaccio Poke Sashimi - Yellowtail Carpaccio Poke Sashimi - Albacore Carpaccio Banana Boat Plenty of parking, lots of tables on a weekday night, and the service was very attentive, the waiter helped us to customize the banana boat to what we wanted. I wish they can make the ordering sheet bigger, it was hard to read with the low light environment. I saw another couple changed seat to a brighter table.

New AYCE sushi spot that took over TD Cafe in El Monte. Came when it was fairly new with a large party. So when we walked in, realized that the staff was pretty much the same people from TD Cafe, but everybody was super attentive and accommodating. There's definitely kinks that need to be worked out; however, overall it was not bad. The appetizers are fairly safe. We enjoyed the crispy rice, edamame, seaweed salad, tempura, and tofu. Ordered the collar on our second round, but even after reminding them, we never got the order. As for the fish, it's OK. The sashimi dishes were not great, but we liked the sushi - especially the yuzu salmon, bay scallop, and eel. Rolls were alright. I liked my Philadelphia roll the most, lol. We also tried the ramen, which came in a small bowl. It was not bad. We did like the banana boat ice cream! It came with two scoops and two cones as well as banana. For the price of $36-37, it's not bad. If they get busy, I can see them falling quite behind. Glad to try it one time, but don't know if I'd return. Bumped it up to 4 stars because of the service.

Jalapeño poppers, fried oysters

Wanted to give Mabu AYCE Sushi in El Monte a fair chance since it's a newer spot. The interior is beautiful and surprisingly elegant for an AYCE sushi restaurant -- modern decor, spacious seating, and even a chandelier that give it a more upscale feel. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't match the atmosphere. I've been to several AYCE sushi spots, and this one was pretty mediocre overall. I upgraded to the premium option mainly for the toro and Hokkaido scallop, which actually ended up being the best items -- but they also took the longest to come out. The biggest issue was timing and organization. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Friday night, yet food took an extremely long time to arrive. I only ended up doing one round because of how slow everything was. One of my orders never came out at all, and staff kept asking whether I had received it while repeatedly checking with the sushi bar, but nothing ever arrived. Even the table next to us seemed frustrated since I overheard them mentioning items from their first round arriving way too late after they no longer wanted them. Dessert was also disappointing and looked nothing like the menu photo. On top of that, there were children behind the host counter loudly shouting while playing on an iPad for much of the evening, which made the environment feel less polished and relaxing. Really wanted to like this place because the space itself is gorgeous, but overall it just wasn't a great first impression.

The best thing was probably the banana boat lol
Janie D.

First of all... takes too long for everything and they were taking so long with the food. We sat there for 5 mins before they gave us the paper and pen to order. Also, I'm missing two item that never came. Service is awful. I don't think I will be coming back. Especially, food was just okay. They need to improve on the yellow tail Kama. Skin not crispy and it smells bad. The carpaccio was good. I am actually very disappointed at the overall services. The waitress seems to be throwing food at our table.

This is a new ayce Japanese and ramen restaurant. It is located inside a strip mall, with parking easy to find. First, previously this location was an HK-style cafe, and the new place hasn't changed much. A couple of Japanese-style decorations were added. Second, the service at this place is very good. The servers and the owner were very attentive and polite. Third, the food was amazing. Although it is an Ayce, this place doesn't skimp on quality. The sashimi was fresh, and they took the time to put the nigiri into a wooden boat. I think this took the whole presentation to another level. Besides Ayce, the items can be ordered à la carte. I opted for the premium menu, and the additional premium sushi was amazing. I would love to come back to try its dinner.

Came here around 2:40 PM and was happy they still had the lunch special available. The service was excellent. I got full in under an hour after just two rounds, which is a big plus for AYCE sushi. Some AYCE places bring food out slowly and make you worry about the 2-hour limit, but that was not the case here at all. The fish tasted fresh, and I had no complaints about the food. I especially liked that they offer poke sashimi, which is not something I usually see at AYCE sushi spots. My only suggestion is that the rice on the sushi could be a little smaller, but overall I had a very satisfying experience and would definitely come back.

Amazing AYCE spot with a huge variety of choices, from appetizers to desserts! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The must-try items are definitely the Yuzu Sushi, Sunrise Roll, and fried calamari. The house special lemon iced tea is also really good and worth ordering. The servers are super friendly and happy to give recommendations, which made the experience even better. It's also very family-friendly and great for kids, with plenty of rice and noodle options available. Highly recommend! We will definitely come back again soon.

Definitely better than the plethora of other Asian noodle places in the area that serve ramen more as an afterthought. Pretty good portion sizes as well. The lady who served me was also very friendly. The place is pretty small and can feel a bit cramped compared to other restaurants, though I'm not gonna dock points for that (I guess it's also somewhat authentic in a sense!). The woman who took my order was friendly and the kitchen was quick! I had low expectations for the squid knowing it likely wouldn't travel well for take out, but when I got home both the flavor and texture were great. The ramen was also really good. The broth was creamy and noodles had the right cook. I liked the unique flavor flashes that made the soup exciting but not overpowering - hints of ginger and a sichuan-like spice. I had a good experience, I'll try dine-in next time.

The noodles for me were just slightly too overcooked for my taste, but it wasn't a big deal. The tea egg was good with a just above jammy interior texture. The chashu was great though. It was very tender with no strange pork smell to it. It tasted fresh. I got the ramen with small rice bowl and salad combo. The rice bowl was alright as well. I got the pork cutlet and egg. I wanted the pork cutlet to be crispy, but the breading on the outside was soggy. The overall flavor was fine though. It had a braised, sweet soy sauce type of flavor to it. The salad was made of shredded cabbage and carrots with a creamy dressing on top that reminds me a lot of thousand island dressing. The slight bitterness from the raw cabbage paired well with the sweeter flavors of the dressing and the carrots. Service was okay.

I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

I can't help, but feel like I was fed leftover skewers. The host was so nice, but unfortunately something was wrong with the cook. I should have not eaten the platter and hope I don't get sick. Update: I am pretty sure this gave me stomach issues, but instead of the skewers, maybe the oyster.
