Busy little restaurant attached to a gas station, and they even have a drive through. It's an old-timey place frequented by locals and travelers alike. Staff are hospitable, food was good (could use a bit more seasoning though) and affordable. The biscuits are perfectly crisp on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. My hubby and I had breakfast here he had the biscuit and gravy, I had the blanches pancakes and one sausage. Not only was the staff really nice.There was an issue with my food.They fixed it immediately.They were very sweet, very kind.And the food was amazing. It almost felt like a homestyle breakfast. I definitely recommend this place. If you're looking for good food, beautiful views and wonderful people! read more

Thought we leave the casino road to get some breakfast out of the crowds. Disappointed the food was so so at best. Cappuccino so sweet hardly drinkable. Order the iron skillet breakfast for 12.99 and an omelette and pancakes. The skillet and omelet did not come with any toast or biscuit. I asked for no peppers on everything and she said it was it was an onion pepper mixture so I ordered the skillet without onion and peppers and left the omelet as is thinking I would pick them out but oh there were sooo many. I couldnt even finish have of it. The skillet only came with 1 egg. Everything is lack flustered and over priced. Don't waste your time foodies! read more

Ambiance: Diner style Food: Plenty of pancakes (at least 3-4 in the stack), but 1 sausage patty. Wish they'd give 2 sausage patties instead and less pancakes IMO. The food was good, the pancakes were fluffy, the sausage was seasoned, nothing to rave about. Service: Friendly, counter order. Someone will bring your food out. I've tried my luck with gas station barbecue, and gas station fried chicken, but never gas station breakfast. But I'm so glad we did! That bacon and pancakes were so good! I even brought home our extra pancakes and we had them the next day for breakfast. I would say the biscuits and croissants would've been better if the cheese was melted , but it didn't take away from the taste. read more

I was on a trip with my girlfriend and on our way out i stop at this place to get some breakfast, this is small town so i didn't know what to expect but i will say food was good, is not the best place i have ever been but definitely a good place, i have never had biscuits with gravy so this was my first time trying them and they were pretty good, i had some eggs, sausage, potatoes and grits which i don't like, overall the meal was good a big portion, my girlfriend doesn't eat breakfast but she ate the grits and some of the biscuit and she liked, coffee was hot and good. My favorite breakfast place i found on multiple vacations to cherokee. Extremely reasonably priced with friendly staff and seems to be where a lot of locals go. They open early and have a drive through so you can get to the hiking trails faster! I had the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and my dad had the biscuits and gravy and everything was delicious. read more

This little place is attached to a gas station so it's very unassuming. Our family of 8 tried a LOT of things. The staff is friendly and helpful with the menu. The double cheeseburger was thick, and juicy, the footlong hotdog was the best I've had in a long time! The bologna croissant is delicious! We would eat here a lot if we were local! read more

This is an incredible breakfast spot. There is a line, but it is well worth the wait. The food is prepared very well. The portions are very generous. The specials are really good as well. We were on the way from Cherokee to Bryson city and just needed a quick breakfast. Found Mabel's kitchen and ordered a couple of biscuits and some hashbrowns to go. I couldn't believe the size of the portions we got based on how much they charged. My steak egg and cheese biscuit was absolutely huge! That same biscuit would've been $10 in Atlanta. Our breakfast was good and filling. Would definitely recommend you give them a try. read more

I saw this place on Yelp. It was just a stone's throw away and it had good reviews, so why not? They did not disappoint. I was, however, visibly shocked at the sheer size of this Kitchen Sink. It lives up to its name! I had to take some of it back with me (along with some extra gravy.) The staff was friendly, as well. I would definitely recommend this place, if you're in the area. read more

This is right around the corner and we walked right in! Don't be put off by the fact that it shares space with a gas station! It stands out!! read more

Drove over from Bryson City for a late breakfast. The restaurant is casual and the people who work here are friendly and very accommodating. I ordered Betty Lou's Kitchen Sink. A homemade biscuit with fried chicken breast, bacon, sausage, hash brown, egg, cheese and smothered in gravy! Although it could have used more gravy it was very, very good, 10 out of 10! My wife got pancakes and bacon. They were good but thick! Would I come again? YES!!! read more

Decent place to eat. Clean and very bus. We ordered the "Arnold's Steak and Eggs"; interestingly enough, the steak was fork tender and tasted nothing like a beef sirloin. I could only eat half of it because I just wasn't sure of what I was eating. Good amount of food and very reasonably priced. Everyone was very friendly also; service was fast and friendly. read more

You know the saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover? That would be appropriate for Mabel's. When the GPS said"arrived' we were looking at a gas station. So, first our impression was not great but, let's give it a shot. It is in the same building, but looks like any other stand alone restaurant inside. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese biscuit with orange juice and my wife had a bacon, egg and cheese croissant with coffee. Both the biscuit and croissant were excellent. My wife said the coffee was good and the OJ was Tropica, can't really mess that up. I'm glad we found this place and will definitely put it on our list of breakfast places to visit again. read more

Nice people serving us. They pass the CC fee on to their customers. There eggs are good. Toast is white bread, ham is cured so very salty, potatoes tasted like they came from a frozen package warmed up, apple sides are drenched in a sugar sauce. Omelette was ok. Coffee just ok. I didn't have high expectations going in as it is attached to a gas station and is fast food but it's hard to screw up breakfast and although it was somewhat edible, I left a good bit on the plate. Seems popular though and the ratings are good so maybe try the pancakes if you go. read more

I wouldn't worry about Christina F's review. I live locally and whenever I drive over the mtn I get a biscuit sausage and egg and it's the best in WNC. Staff have always been nice as well and even slipped my German shepherd a slice of bacon once. Everyone I know loves their food. If you don't like southern flavor then go to McDonald's. read more

Yonger is a rare shop, in my humble opinion, for east coast since healthy choices both in markets and eateries are like trying to find a needle in a haystack so my heart happy knowing this exists here not far from where we stayed at just minutes from our children's maternal great-grandparents home. So many wonderful options and staff was friendly from the time we walked in to the moment of checkout. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who's looking for more sustainable items or at least a healthier choice here and there.

The two catfish fillets and four slices of meat loaf were delicious. The vegetables were Lima beans, cabbage casserole, creamed corn, potatoes au gratin, slaw and a spring salad. All were served fresh with two biscuits and two corn muffins. The relish, apple butter and Sogrum-sage butter were delightful. We were blessed to have April for our server, and highly recommend her for your visit. She shared the history of the area and is proud of the changes and history of the Dillard House. Thank you for a great meal. The fried chicken is better than I remembered. Yes, the restaurant is open, and parts of the motel are being remodeled/updated and the new hotel is under construction. Don't let the remodeling deter you from the eating at the restaurant or enjoying your favorite drink from the bar.

Along with friend catfish filets, that had been way over salted. Both were very soggy. I ate half the thigh and quit. Veggies? Only vegetables were Lima beans, everything else considered vegetables, was a casserole. A table full of starches. Over rated and over priced. Sadly disappointed. If you want good southern food, go further south to Thomasville, GA. Go to O'Neals. You can fool some folks, but not someone that knows southern cooking. We won't return.
