    Chicken + shrimp Alfredo
    Steve D.

Food: 3.5/5 The garden salad was fresh, crisp, and refreshing and mozzarella bread also crunchy and tasty. For entrees, we tried the fried shrimp platter, a sausage Stromboli, a grilled chicken salad, and a shrimp+chicken Alfredo. The shrimp was coconut crusted and fine, with fries that were also crunchy and hot. But portion a bit on the small side for $18. Chicken in salad was not grilled but sautéed, and weirdly part of a pepper and onion stir-fry that was poured over the salad lettuce while hot, resulting in a warm, wilted, and not very refreshing plate. The pasta sauce was not quite Alfredo--not very cheesy, lacked salt, sort of flat flavor wise. The star of the show was the Stromboli, which was terrific all around. Summary: Stromboli, Stromboli, Stromboli. Ask for extra marinara. Service: 4.5/5 Super nice people, helpful explanations of the menu, was a bit slow at times. Ambiance: 4/5 Cozy atmosphere, cute Italian art, comfortable booths, clean bathrooms. Was a bit warm at first, so we were relieved when an attentive and empathetic server asked if we'd like it a bit cooler. Alas when he cranked up the air conditioner, it sounded like the Industrial Revolution was taking place. The silver lining was that when the A/C finally cycled off, it was as peaceful as a winter dawn.

We have ordered pizza and other items from here over the years, but they recently changed ownership and my wife and I saw that they were serving breakfast now and decided to try it out, the new owners changed it up inside and it looks amazing and not to mention the food is delicious. Very cozy and our server Jill was great, they have an awesome menu selection with several vegetarian options. We were blown away at how well the food tasted and it was well presented on the plates, I had the Avocado hollandaise and my wife had the Mesa Verde ( both amazing dishes), the green chili on the biscuits with gravy was so tasty and we just shared our dishes with each other. The coffee was also delicious, they have different morning coffee specials and just overall it was excellent. A must stop for breakfast.

The best pizza you'll find in such a tiny town. Don't underestimate what this restaurant dishes out.

The chicken tenders are fake pressed chicken type patties. Stick with the homemade Italian items!

Catching up on a review I am overdue writing from our road trip through the Rockies in mid-August…read more Carelli's is one of those places that I'll always remember. The staff was super cool, friendly, funny. We loved our server, Mariah, and chatted with one of the pizza chefs in the open kitchen. They were all working so hard and gave this place such a fun vibe. We ordered the "All The Way" pizza and a "Colowyo" Stromboli to share. OMG...so much food and so good (and we are picky about our pizza). I also ordered a side salad, which was good, but standard. They have a beer club where locals can buy a stein and hang it on a peg on the wall to use when they come in. Fun! If I lived nearby, would definitely eat here frequently! I give this restaurant a rock solid 4 stars, but bumping it up one star due to their staff -- it's all about the people, right?

After an exhausting day working in the field, my coworker (friend lol) and I decided that we wanted…read moreto treat ourselves to a fricken bomb dinner in a town that was nicer and more familiar than the podunk place we were staying for the week. Insert Carelli's in Craig, Colorado. We found street parking right out front, and walked in expecting the place to be small, quaint, and give off a very homey vibe. The front, which seemed to be sort of a quickie to go type of place to grab a slice of pizza for lunch definitely rang true to our assumptions, but we ventured into the rear of the restaurant to find what I can only describe as elegant and casual at the same time. Um... what? A nice, upscale place in a small mountain town of Colorado??? We were greeted and seated quickly, and found ourselves at a cozy little two top, ready to order drinks while we were perusing the large menu. I started with an IPA (unfortunately don't remember the name of said beverage), and my friend ordered a white sangria. We decided to try starting with their bruschetta, as well, while still deciding on our meals. The drinks made their way to our table, and we were ready to order; I wanted to try their chicken piccata at the suggestion of my friend (I'd never had it before!), and she went with the classic spaghetti bolognese. We spent some time getting lost in conversation until our starter came out. It looked good! Definitely different than the bruschetta that we have both had in the past, but it was yummy! The plate was steaming hot, and the cheese was nicely melted over sliced tomatoes; the bread was a bit crusty on the edges, and soft and chewy on the inside. We continued talking while inhaling the appetizer, and it seemed like mere seconds had passed when the main course was set in front of us. The dishes looked pretty good. My plate was super hot, and my friend said hers was too, which is always a plus; hot food is the best lol. Overall, we both enjoyed our meals; I think my chicken was slightly dry, and the sauce it came smothered in could have been more prominent, but the sauce was very flavorful for what it was. The spaghetti it came with was definitely warm and it tasted good, but it didn't absolutely blow me out of the water - it was just normal, run of the mill spaghetti! My friend said she liked her dish, but that it was missing some of the more "traditional" aspects of what she normally sees with bolognese. I'd definitely come back if I were in town again!! The experience was super nice, the staff was friendly, and prices were reasonable.

While we were there we saw multiple parties leave because of the wait time. It's definitely a popular spot! The food was good, the fettuccine Alfredo with salmon really blew me away. Everyone at the table really loved the red sauce as well. Unfortunately, I'm giving the lower rating because of the service. It took a while for us to get our food, which is fine because it's probably being made fresh. However, one of our entrées was incorrect. They apologized, but it took a long time for us to get our correct entree (chicken parm). By the time they brought out the correct one, everyone else at the table was done with their meal-- i didn't want them to wait and let their meals get cold. It definitely took away from the experience. On a smaller note, we ordered the cheese stick appetizer, which was supposed to come with seven pieces but they only gave us six. I am patient and understanding, mistakes happen! What was disappointing is that they didn't comp the entree or provide any other comp for the inconvenience. They could've comped the appetizer as it was cheaper than the entree, they could have given us a dessert, a drink, whatever. This is a bit of a pricier restaurant so I would expect the service to match and a small gesture would have gone a long way. I'm not going to say you shouldn't visit the spot because the food was good and i'm sure majority of the time it's great-- it's just not somewhere I necessarily want to go again.

The food was good, no complaints there but unfortunately the service was lacking. We arrived on a Friday around 6 PM with no reservations. We spoke to the host and he added us to the waitlist. It was a 15-20 minute wait and we received a text that our spot at the bar was ready in just under 15 minutes. When we returned, there was a wait to speak to the host. Two parties in front of us. We waited. When it was finally our turn to speak to him a couple came rushing down the stairs, cut in front of us and headed to the open spots at the bar. The host proceeded to ignore us and instead sat the couple who didn't have a reservation and was not on the waitlist at those bar spots. I spoke up and said we had just received a text that they were ready to seat us, luckily two additional spots opened shortly afterwards but it really rubbed us the wrong way that the host completely ignored us after we had been waiting in line to help people who just walked in and cut the line. Another thing that wasn't great is that the host brought that couple menus and did not bring us any. We had to get up and ask him for some. Finally, the service at the bar was terrible. We had to ask to order and the bartender never asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything else. I've worked as a server before and I know the bartenders get very busy but we didn't even get the bare minimum. When it was time to pay and tip, the bartender filled our beer glass halfway... I assume as a "sorry for neglecting you, please still give me a good tip". Overall just a very disappointing experience from a customer service standpoint.

For this restaurant, the find was almost like that. We (while enjoying our quick spa getaway in town coming from the greater Denver area) found this place after a disappointing experience with another similar restaurant nearby as it was closed for a private party that night. We were in a dire need of finding something alternative. As we were walking around town earlier that day, we did notice this place. After checking to make sure that it was truly open (not again, right?), we rushed there to fill our empty stomachs. The experience? It was quite good! Despite its unfortunate setting (downstairs in one of the buildings on the busy main street in town), what they can offer is worth the mention. Ambience?? Good! Fairly small restaurant but the layout is efficient where it can hold at least 50+ people when it's packed. The bar is the most ambient part of the restaurant where copper top was most fitting with chic looking lightings hanging from the ceilings. As long as the weather permits, seating in the patio is available. Three men collaborated to assist us for all of our needs during our fairly quick dinner. Time was barely 5pm. The night was still very young. Other diners eventually streamed in and it was at its 50% capacity by 5:50m. By the way, this experience was on a Thursday in mid-April of 2026. Here is what we got: -Justin Cabernet $15 per glass -Mediterra Super Tuscan $15 per glass (I had this one. Justin which my daughter had was better than mine in my opinion.) (The selection for wine by the glass is a bit small; they could easily add a few more to both the white and the red) -Starter bread (complimentary; later one of the men came to refill it by adding a few more slices. Excellent starter bread) -Mussels alla Crema (Cream based. They can make it with red sauce as well; $18) -Torretta de Malanzane (An eggplant burrata dish, $17) -Brassato (A gnocchi dish with braised short ribs, $30) All of the dishes were equal contenders where I simply couldn't pick one winning dish out of them. Each dish's meticulous presentation coupled with the overall seasonings, flavors and complex or perfected texture, their creative dishes are the core reason for their successful restaurant operations is what I gleaned while dining. We, unfortunately, skipped the dessert part as we saw an ice cream place several doors up the street from it earlier. They even had lemon wedges and pepperoncini fried in with the calamari which I loved. Cesar salad: I forgot to snag a picture of the salad, and it also happened to be my least favorite item we ordered. Food - the steak tartare is completely unmatched in presentation & preparation. I love traditional steak tartare but this was a really great take on it. The menu has a considerable presence of peas and beans incorporated into this dishes which is a unique touch from other high end restaurants. The dishes were amazingly plated, and the tastes were so tremendously brought together with quality. Do NOT miss the pistachio tiramisu. The absolute best dessert I have ever had. Words really can't do it justice! This is a spectacular dining experience for any city!

The Pullman - Savory porcini beignets - decent and would be much better without the cold cream under.
