A few weeks ago, I noticed a burning smell in my basement and followed it to the electrical closet. I spoke to Greg on the phone about the issue and he was very professional and honest of what he could and could not do about the elusive issue. Most importantly, he did not use any scare tactics. Unfortunately, he had a client that day so my husband found another company to come to diagnose the issue. After opening and thoroughly examining the electrical box, the person could not find the problem and recommended an escalation to perform a full diagnosis, which would be nearly $500. I called Greg and he talked to me out of my panic. He also recommended a solution to test for the source myself. Later that day, my husband and I took Greg's advice and we were able to narrow it down to our home security system. Having an electrical issue is always scary, but I am grateful to find someone like Greg who is honest, and actually goes out of his way to educate his customers.

The entire time there, Tony kept me informed every step of the way as well as making minor corrections to my circuit panel. I really appreciated how professional and clean all three of them were . I hired Gambino electric to install an electric vehicle charger, install two outlets (one inside…read moreand one outside) and hang two light fixtures. We agreed on a fixed price of $1,650 for the electric vehicle charger, $350 for the outlets, and the light fixtures would be free due to the fact that I was bundling all of the services. The electrician was unable to successfully install the EV charger. At the time of the install, he blamed it on a faulty charging unit (despite the fact that it was brand new). I found out later after hiring a second electrician to complete the install that Gambino broke the original unit. He opened the charging unit when he was not supposed to, attempted to stretch a wire that was not meant to be stretched, and broke connecting pins. He also lost the majority of the screws that held the front plate of the unit to the back and did not replace them. I had to get a replacement unit and pay the new electrician to install it. As a result, I had to pay an additional $225 for the EV unit installation. Gambino refused to accept any responsibility and would not offer a refund. In addition, despite me having provided clear photos and instructions of the outlet installation, he attempted to raise the price from $350 to $600 at the time of install. He also demanded that I give him a 5-Star Google review in order to keep his promise to install the lights for free, otherwise he would charge an additional $150. Furthermore, Gambino failed to properly ground a wire when hanging one of the light fixtures. I had to have a second electrician fix that issue as well.

I called John Gambino Electric on a Monday and expected a 24-hour turnaround but was pleasantly surprised that they could send a technican out in the afternoon. The tech was very friendly, and after explaining my issue, he quickly tracked down the problem to a different outlet that had somehow arced inside the wall from a loose connection and partially melted the outlet. He replaced the melted outlet and assisted with making sure the outlet I had replaced would not fall prone to the same issue. As a new homeowner having dealt with several repairs already, I appreciated the quick turn around and the pricing was very fair. I will definitely use John Gambino for all of my future electrical needs.

I especially recommend them for major electrical work, such as installing/repairing the mainline electric cable, whole-house standby generator installation, electric (sub)panel installation, or installing an underground electric connection between our house and the garage. For these jobs, they came as a team of 6-8 people and usually got the job done within one day. Their solutions are not only of excellent quality, they also make it look good. Whatever work they have completed in our house has never given us any issues afterwards. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He did a full electric rewiring of my home. He removed knob and tube wiring and replaced with all new wiring, upgraded the service panel to 200 amps, and installed many lights, baseboard heaters, bathroom fans, porch lights, etc. Knowledgeable - you spend 10 minutes with him and you realize he knows the ins and outs of all things electric and also generally all things house related. It really gave me confidence in his vision for the final project. Cost - we received several quotes. He was very competitive with his pricing. And when you price in the quality of the work, I think the value is second to none. He was also very upfront and transparent. No hidden charges. He explained why certain items cost what they did. Professionalism - he was punctual for all meetings and phone calls. Prompt with all text replies. Speed - Once the project was underway, they really moved at a fast. My house needed quite a bit of work and they finished in two weeks. Lastly, he was happy to discuss ideas for various non-electric related items during our several house walk-throughs even though it was of no real benefit to him, which speaks to his easy going nature. I'm not a frequent "review" poster (if ever), but Mike and crew earned it.
