Despite not offering it as a service, Angie helped me laser cut and set a picture of him into the heart-shaped locket, only charging me a small fee. I really appreciated her generosity and knew I would return to her shop. About a year ago, I decided it was time to purchase a new gold chain for a pair of cloisonné pendants that belonged to my grandmother. Angie makes her own chains, and she was so patient while I looked at the various patterns and tried on different lengths. I originally planned on buying a single chain to share, but after reviewing my options I decided to purchase two of different pattern and length. The cloisonnés vary in color, shape, and size, and the chains we chose reflected their differences. Angie even added my grandmother's birth stone (peridot) to the clasp of each one! To use her words, these necklaces are now truly "heirloom quality" that I hope to pass down to my future children. Finally, this past fall. My fiancé worked with Angie to create a custom engagement ring. It has the Art Deco style that I love, and it's absolutely perfect. The ring is everything I wanted, and I have received so many compliments. The fact that Angie designed it makes it all the more special to me. Angie is kind, patient, and honest - every quality you would want in a jeweler. Her cozy little shop is welcoming, and everything is artfully arranged. You can feel Angie's passion in her craftsmanship, dedication to quality, and ability to make any project - from a gold chain to an engagement ring - incredibly unique and personal. My girlfriend and I originally visited the Wabash store and had to return a week later because the initial design and pricing information we received was confusing. Even after leaving a deposit, my girlfriend remained unhappy with the clarity of the design and the price point. Out of curiosity, she looked online at Blue Nile and was able to design the exact ring and wedding band she wanted in under an hour. Blue Nile's price was $1,000 less for the exact same diamond cut and an almost identical design. Their design software makes it so much easier to see & build the ring When I contacted our representative, Isaiah, to cancel the transaction--noting that no manufacturing or shipping had begun--I was told our deposit was non-refundable. Wanting to give them one last opportunity to make things right, I forwarded them the Blue Nile design and pricing. It took dimend SCAASI another week to replicate a design my girlfriend built online in less than an hour. I offered to move forward if they would meet me halfway on the $1,000 price difference. It took them another three days just to counter with a $400 store credit, which I declined. I am now forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get my deposit back. Save yourself the unnecessary stress, time, and money. Go to Blue Nile or a similar online retailer, design the exact ring you want and either order it from them or bring the quote & design to a local jeweler and ask them if they can design the same ring at a similar price point. I wish I had done that to start with.

This review is LONG overdue…read more After looking online and at a couple of different 'big box' type jewelry stores for an engagement ring and just not finding what we wanted, we decided we wanted to go the route of having a custom ring made, and so we ended up at Holtzmann's. Pam and Pat Holtzmann are the most phenomenal folks around. When you're in their store, you feel like family. They are super friendly, and made you feel comfortable from the get-go. They are both super patient, and they really take the time to educate you on different stones, and different aspects of design to help make sure that you're creating a jewelry piece that will last a lifetime with proper care. We ended up having my engagement ring and my husband's wedding ring made by them, and then after having my husbands wedding ring made, I ended up wanting to make a more feminine, mini-version of his ring to be able to wear myself as well, and they helped us make that too. The quality of the jewelry pieces we received is outstanding, and working with Pam and Pat was the same. We valued getting to work with them so closely on pieces we plan to wear a lifetime! Although we had rings made, Holtzmann's specializes in all types of custom jewelry. We happened to pop into the store at the tail end of another couple leaving who had the most beautiful custom bracelet made, and at another visit saw someone picking up a necklace that they had redesigned with stones from a different necklace they no longer wore anymore.
