I had stopped coming to the laundromat for a long time because it was had gone downhill but today I came in here at a necessity and found that it is way better than it used to be it is a lot cleaner a lot better machines dryers all work the owner has really taken some time to correct any of the past things that were wrong with it and people that were wrong with it and I would recommend it now for sure I give it five stars read more

This laundromat (and others in the area) claim to give you free dry if you wash there. The driers aren't really free because the just charge more for the washers. The 1st time I tried to go to this laundromat, the coin machine was out of order. I went somewhere else. The 2nd time I went, a worker was there- she was really friendly with everyone. It was a decent experience. The 3rd time I went, I checked to make sure there were quarters in the change machine. A different worker was there & rushed up to me telling me I had to do my laundry there to get quarters. I told her I was going to do my laundry but I wanted to make sure there were quarters before I brought my laundry in. She said I had to bring my laundry in before getting quarters. I explained to her that I was not going to bring all my laundry in only to find out there were no quarters like the 1st time. She had her daughter with her & would leave for long periods of time. The 4th time I went here, there was no worker there the entire time I was there. It went pretty smooth. There were only a couple of other people there. I went there again today. It was pretty crowded but I was able to get washers. I was halfway through with drying my clothes & the place had pretty much emptied out when the woman with the little girl showed up. She came up to me & told me I can't use the big driers to put just a few things in. She tried to say it wasn't fair to other customers. I explained to her that I had sheets in the drier & I threw those things in there after I had taken the sheets out instead of starting another drier for the programmed 20 minutes. What she didn't realize is that most of the other driers were being used when I started drying. She would have known this if she would have been working like she was supposed to be instead of off wherever she was. A few minutes later, I was putting my clothes in the car. She came out talking on her phone & told me I had to move my towels because they were in a big drier & there weren't enough (in her opinion) to merit the big drier. No one else was in the laundromat by this time. She said the big drier used more electricity that the other driers. WHAT?!?!? I told her that I was getting ready to take them out anyway. When I went back in, the drier was stopped even though there was 10 minutes left on it. SHE HAD OPENED THE DOOR TO STOP THE DRIER. read more

I do my laundry here all the time. I did my usual and I left it to dry went to the store for a few minutes came back and it was gone. Someone stole my babies clothes from the dryer!! Who would do that!? I like the atmosphere here and the workers are kind it's always clean but I can't trust people who steal. This is so sad and just plain right mean. I wish I could give it more stars but this person will be back. I can no longer go somewhere where I feel unsafe. Sure it's materialistic stuff but it's personal belongings that belonged to a baby. i rarely leave reviews but the cost here was so unreasonably high that i started crying. also, the change machine was out of order and the soap dispenser was also out of order. it should not cost $34 to do one load of laundry, especially in such a low income area like this establishment is. will never come back here again. read more

Just moved up here and my dryer broke. Have found clean and easy washing services here. The woman who runs the laundromat is super chill, super helpful and way down to earth. She will save you many quarters if you ask which washer your stuff will fit in best. read more

I came in on a Sunday (weekend) absolutely will come here again! It was clean, new machines, free drying. The attendant was extremely nice welcoming and helpful, let me know when our laundry was done and restarted the dryers for me when I went to the store. The last wash is at 8:30 which is amazing! Because most places are 7. Other reviews said they closed at 8:30 when the sign says open till 10. It makes sense to close if there is no one washing clothes after 8:30 and the last load was supposed to be t 8:30 read more

Attendant rushed me to get my laundry out of the drier as I was literally taking it out, and started yelling at me for not getting it done fast enough. She will stalk your every move and always let you know what you're doing wrong, takes her kid to work with her, whose like 4 or 5, and let's her climb all over the machinery by herself and unsupervised, and talks on the phone so loud that everyone in the place can hear her. Super disrespectful. Find out what her hours are and go around them. You'll have a more peaceful experience. read more

There is no contact number if something happens to a machine that prevents you from removing your laundry from washers. The Hispanic lady that works here will steal your laundry if you forgot something overnight. Plus the Hispanic lady is never here except near closing or at the start of her shift. She is a disgrace to this business and should be replace with a more reliable person that is reachable and more welcoming. read more

The sign on the window they are open until the 10 pm. That's not accurate. Some nights the attendant goes home at 8:30 and does not tell customers ahead of time. They advertise a "free transfer" service on n at least two different signs. One night I asked for it and was told the didn't do that, then when I said "what about the sign?" She an a claimed they charged by the pound. I said "but that's not what the signs say." Tonight I went there and asked for the WiFi password and was told (same attendant) the WiFi was broken. The device I'd had last time, when an attendant did give us the password, signed in automatically and worked fine. So at least one of their workers lies and lies. While being smiley to some customers. I agree it must be a front business. New management, new machines, but all the lies are a disincentive. It's the kind of place they play head games for fun. They lost my clothes, and then, upon talking to the manager, i was told to write down my name and number in case they were returned. I talked with the manager for a minute to see if they would be any more accountable or responsible, and he told me they would not and scoffed at me, i told him i was going to write this review (its honest too) and then he started to walk away, i asked if i could still leave my contact information in case my clothes arrived and he looked at me and said "Do you honestly think ill give you a call after you've acted like a little chicken shit to me"? Not only did they lose my clothes, disrespect me verbally in front of a bunch of people (some i know) but they went so far as to tell me there going to take my clothes from me if they return, Im an hsu student and moneys tight. Clean place with a friendly attendant. Wash is expensive but free to dry. Single load is $3.75 but then you don't have to worry about dry time. They will transfer from wash to dryer for no additional charge. The only bad thing about the place is that it is in the valley west shopping center which is out of the way from most of arcata and there are MANY panhandlers that camp in that shopping center; but, the laundromat is great, highly recommended! read more

Visiting the "other" MOM's Laundromat on LK Wood in Arcata adjacent to Blondies goes like this: walking in, you are greeted by the stench of cigarette smoke, mildew, and cannabis. The washers take about 25 minutes to finish, and do a pretty good job cleaning clothes ($1.75/load for standard top loaders) so long as the quater slots don't jam. While you wait, you are treated to a front row seat watching a prolonged parade of transients seeking alcohol and/or drugs either from dealers in the parking lot or from Blondies next door. Now that your clothes are washed, you play a game of dryer roulette, as only 60% of them are functional and of those, only 20% actually dry clothes ($0.25/6 min). Finally, after 30-40 minutes of drying, you can be on your way. Another well-spent afternoon at the laudromat! read more

This is a review for the other MOM's laundromat on L.K. Wood and California near Blondie's Coffee shop. To be clear, it is a huge mistake to even walk through the door of this supposed business. I am not even referring to the smell or the dirty surfaces as much as the fact the the washers don't work. Some of them don't fill up to the right water level. Others don't drain or agitate correctly. The dryers are also a crapshoot. I have been there 3 times and each time, only one of three dryer worked after paying for 42 minutes. When the machines don't work, there is a number to call but you just get to leave a message. When you do get a call back hours later, you get yelled at on the phone for overfilling the load, even when the washer doesn't drain. I was told that they don't clean out the lint traps on the dryers, so people leave with wet laundry and dry it elsewhere. Going to this "business" steals both your time and your quarters. If you are "lucky" enough to meet the owner, he will refuse to compensate you for having to rewash your load (sometimes up to three times). The owner will then explain how his customer are all scammers, and scream and curse you out when you try to explain why his machines didn't work. If the machines aren't maintained, why should the customer have to pay? This laundromat should be avoided at all costs for obvious reasons read more
