The people are unpretentious. The facility pleasant with a bathroom and a meditative place to sit at the end of the parking lot while your clothes are washing. I had an amazing experience. I'm visiting from out of town and had 2 small loads to do. The place was empty, really clean! Ray was working and was extremely kind and helpful. Offered me a plastic cup for my coins, gave me change for a $20 so I can get coins from the machine. I sat down with my MacBook to get some of my college work done and he brought me a water bottle. I wish I could give no stars. The staff does not wear masks or social distance and are extremely rude. I used their service to put my clothes in the dryers and ended up with almost all of my wool socks missing, a very nice sweater missing, and a bunch of clothes that were not mine. When I returned the items and asked to post a notice for my "missing" articles the mask-less, rude attendant refused and basically said too bad was not her problem. DO NOT USE THIS LAUNDROMAT! I washed my clothes here. It is free to dry but the attendant dictated which driers I could use. I tried to put my clothes into two driers right next to each other but she made me choose a second one several driers away from the first one I chose. I don't know what her deal was but they have a service where they will move your clothes from washers to driers & I heard her telling people their clothes were scattered throughout the laundromat in driers. This makes no sense- it is more logical to keep loads closer together if possible so things won't be left behind. Then, when I was leaving she was sitting right outside the door smoking. What's the point of washing your clothes if you are going to walk right through someone's cigarette smoke. The law states that smokers must be at least 30 feet from entrances. read more

Went here to do my laundry like always and the lady working this morning went above and beyond! She not only helped us pick the right machine (we had originally picked one where it was $5 more per load) but she helped fold our thing and was just super awesome! This was already our go to laundromat but after this I can't see us ever going anywhere else and it was because of her! They also have a transfer service we use so we can finish running errands and don't have to wait there or come back after the wash and it's only $1! So happy with this place read more

I have NO IDEA how this place has such good reviews. I went today 7/27 and dropped off a comforter for wash/fold service since my washer isn't big enough and I'm running to and from errands, job, etc. it was something just to make my day a little easier. I come back in the evening to a short brown haired guy working the front. Totally my fault I didn't read the sign on the wall about payment but it was my first time using this place. He told me they accept cash or debit so i went back later with my debit card. It's CASH ONLY. I was a little irritated he told me debit as well and I asked if they had an atm which they don't. He kind of gave me an attitude ( I was interrupting his tv show) telling me that there were a bunch of places in town that have an ATM. Fine. I come back about five minutes later and whatever bad weed/ mushroom trip this guy was on intensified x50000. A girl comes up as I'm trying to talk to him and this freaked him out. "There is so much going on right now!!" He said. She was asking about her laundry load..... He didn't remember me from five minutes before so I had to explain to him that I'm there for my comforter I have cash. He was like I'll let you know when it's done. I told him it was ALREADY DONE and that it was right in front of where he was standing with my name on it. I needed change and watched him struggle with putting the key into the cash box hole for somewhere around five minutes, I just took a seat. I understand this is Humboldt County, Arcata, Stoner Hippie Paradise whatever but If you are so fucking stoned/drugged out of your mind maybe you shouldn't be working while doing so. Lastly he told me " I can't guarantee your comforter will be dry". It is dude, it was done hours before your shift started. Fuck this place. I won't be back. I can recommend the laundromat across from Wildberries on G street. :) read more

Used to love this place. But today the machine ate my quarters and the lady barely gave me a full refund and proceeded to tell me it's my fault. Then since I bought detergent and it ate that too, instead of giving me the soap I bought she gave me random soap in a cup. Additionally, the lady yelled at me to take my mask off because "I can't even hear what you're saying". Horrible experience. read more

The people who work at this establishment are extremely unprofessional and just straight up rude. Not only this but washing machines are frequently out of order and the prices are outrageous. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere ESPECIALLY if you're a student. read more

Been coming here since reopen. Was happy w/free dryers! So: pro - good hours, lotsa room, free dryers. Cons: machines break a LOT. Reed, the only male attendant is WAY RUDE. He was ok when he started, but now obviously DOES NOT CARE. Seems like he hates the place & customers. I heard him tell an elderly woman that if she did not like the heavy metal he was blasting, she could take her $ elsewhere. She already had her things drying, but I bet she's not coming back!! I'd imagine this jerk costs Speedwash a LOT of customers. Bad, Bad, BAD Attitude & will not even stock the bathroom w/soap, t.p. or paper towels! WHATEVER THEY PAY THIS GUY IS WAY TOO MUCH! I will go back to Emerald City where they value the customer. The customer may not always be right, but they are still the customer. Laundry being a service based biz, then you might think they'd hire someone who needs the job & doesnt b!tch about how bored he is! read more

what the...hell is going on at this place now??? last time i was there, only TWO dryers were working, and one of them was being used by the attendant! i'm not exaggerating, only TWO dryers were working out of the two dozen or more. and every week another washing machine goes down broken and is never fixed. also they keep raising the prices and even with the free dry it's cheaper to go anywhere else, even emerald city. how the hell does this place stay in business lol read more

Unfortunately I've been to this laundromat twice...never again. The staff is unfriendly and not helpful...practically every other machine was OUT OF ORDER. Even the soda machine was out of order. Management needs to do some serious improvements. read more
