I am disappointed with the service I received recently. The quality of work did not meet my expectations, especially compared to previous visits. Although I shared my concerns with the manager, I chose not to have the work corrected and will seek services elsewhere. It is unfortunate to see a long-standing neighborhood business decline in quality and customer care. Additionally, I felt my request for a dip manicure was not handled professionally. I hope the business will address these issues and improve its service for all customers. If I had pictures, I would upload them for the managers to see. Request the Tech by the name "sweet Tea" she is a professional. I had to have my gel tips removed by another tech & it hurt. When I inquired, sweet tea said she would have used acetone for the removal. Uuggh-- next time my appointment will ONLY be with sweet tea. read more

WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE EVER. First of all, I walked in there was only one other person getting their nails done so they definitely had openings so I asked them if they accepted walk-ins they said yes so I was like great, sat in the chair show my inspiration photo and the woman tells me I don't do designs. I'm just like thinking how do you have a nail salon but don't do designs that didn't make sense so I was like cool. I'll just go with a French tip and it's very simple so she asked me if I want acrylic or gel and I say either or as long as my nails look good, she proceeds to cut my natural nails which are very long and I have been growing them out for months. I told her please don't cut my nails. I'm growing them out. She proceeds to cut them. I'm annoyed at this point so she put the gel nails on me they aren't even fully on my actual nail beds. They're lifted. They look awful. She cut them shorter and I tell her that's not what I wanted. She just says sorry and does not fix it. The filing on the nail itself was so bad. I actually had to ask her if I could file them myself because she was horrible at it. I ended up asking her to just wipe off the French tip because it looked horrible and cheap. I just went home with the base color on me and not even 24 hours later, my nails pop off. I spent $40 on this set, which is pretty cheap but pretty expensive for a really bad set. The salon staff is friendly, the shop is clean and the equipment is in great shape. Quiet and relaxing, not rushed through like cattle. Plenty of parking and they practice social distance guidelines. My friend and I had a scheduled appt. to get our nails done at the same time. When we got there, there was a bunch of workers but only one guy could help us apparently because no one else could do acrylic nails..what kind of nail salon only has one person able to do that. It's a very common thing that people get done. They also didn't push back cuticles so now my nails look bad after 1 week and it was expensive compared to all the other places that do a better job and also have a better experience all together. For St. Patricks day, I decided to have my nails done. I'd never done it before, and was excited to see the process. My husband and I went to breakfast and MK Nails Spa was close by. Walking in, the staff was very polite and quick. I told them acrylics with green tips for the upcoming holiday and they went right to work. For those of you who don't know, having your nails done is a fairly long and dirty process and honestly, having acrylics put on looks crappy until they are done. It took an hour to complete the process and when all was done, they looked GREAT! The salon was very clean and the workers clean up after every customer. I went back recently after trying a couple of other nail salons and have decided no place in Rockford compares to this. Last time I went back I had my nails redone and a pedicure. The pedicure chairs they have are AMAZING! They are massaging chairs which feel awesome while you're having your toes pampered. The only down side is that most of the staff does speak another language, so I had a hard time knowing if they were talking to me or each other. I just got a manicure and pedicure, and it was so lovely and relaxing. The design they put on my big toe and ring finger was accented with a rhinestone jewel. The only down side is that there is a bit of a language barrier. read more

Daughter and I went in to get a full set and I also got a pedicure. Over 2 1/2 hours.. no one in the place. Nails were awful, had to get them fixed the next day at LT nails. Within 3 days all of my daughters nail fell off. Didn't know what they were doing. Pedicure was good. read more

They didn't even know what that was but they are a nail salon. I made her take off all my nails. This was my regular place. Last few times I have went I noticed they had lost a few good employees. The older lady is nice but doesn't understand any English. I asked for something cute and different and she did her best... Meh. Most of the no chip polish is drying out and ordering new doesn't seem to be a big priority. I think they are good for pedis but for no chip I would go somewhere else. Miss the guy that gave the best pedi on earth! I went there the other day for my birthday and WOW! I got a pedicure and gel manicure and they look phenomenal! My nail technician Jennifer, talked to me a lot and made me laugh but still did an amazing job. She helped me pick out my color and gave an amazing foot massage. Neither my finger nails nor toe nails have chipped yet and it's been about 5 days. Every person working there was so kind, never left me hanging, and talked to me even though I was not their client. I only had to wait about 2 minutes to get into the chair. This nail salon is in a great area, is not too expensive (they gave me a birthday discount! :D), and is really clean. read more

I prefer to support local businesses, especially in my neighborhood. MK provides quality manicures and pedicures at competitive prices. They are careful about the hygiene of their tools. So disappointing. I got a No-Chip done here on Wednesday, it is now Monday and already 3 nails have huge noticeable chips. The girl doing my nails wasn't timing the lamp so they bubbled, causing her to add another layer of the polish, which lead to way too thick nails. I had been here once before for a pedicure and didn't have a stellar experience but I thought I'd give it another shot. Lesson learned. Will not be back. read more

I went here for their "no-chip" 10 day $30.00 manicure. After 4 days it was already chipping!! I went back and the owners wife told me I chipped them and she would only fix 1-even though 5 out of 10 nails were chipped!!! She was very rude to me and said I had to wait 45 mins to get that 1 nail fixed. I talked to the manager- her husband- he also said it was my fault but he would fix. Instead of fixing the "no-chip" he put some kind of "nail-dip" on. Basically he put fake nails over mine- yuck! But guess what? A couple days later they chipped too! I went back in tonight for them to take the fake, chipping nails off and right when I walked in and he saw me he started yelling in his language to his wife. I told her I wanted the tips taken off and just a regular manicure- she said it would be $20.00. He ended up coming over and uncomfortably took the tips off- he then said go wash your hands-he thought we were done. I went over to pick a color and he said why? It's just going to chip again-and then he told me not to come back if they do. Nice. That's a quality business owner. He then told his 16 year old daughter (I asked her how old she was) to paint my nails....Are you kidding me?!? 16?!? What a waste of my time. I asked him if he yells at all his customers or was I just the lucky one? He said he doesn't like me and I told him the feeling is mutual. I guess he doesn't like customers (or women) who speak up for themselves? My advice? GO ANYWHERE ELSE. This place does not do a quality job or treat their customers with respect. read more

Took my Mom for us both to have a pedicure and a fill. Even made an appointment so we could spend the time together. Never got to sit by each other the entire time. They did my fill in the chair while I was getting my pedicure ( same thing happened to my Mom). It's like they just wanted to get everyone in and out as fast as possible. Will NOT go back!!!!!!! First thing expensive $80. For what you get I waiting 4 hours to get my toes and acrylic nails, and my nails were done wrong I've never had them bubble and have bumps. The art work was blah I've had better for cheaper. No one spoke much English which doesn't bug me but when you have to explain over and over again what you want is annoying. They are sweet but what I paid for wasn't happy at all was so disappointed. And asked them to do a flower design and they weren't able to do it. I'd never go back again not worth the money. read more
