We couldn't be happier with our experience with McGlinch and Sons Co.! From our very first…read moreconversation to the completion of a major exterior transformation, this company exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Our project included replacing our wood siding with James Hardie siding, replacing our brick with Eldorado stacked stone, replacing our wood deck with Trex, and installing a new front door. The transformation of our home is incredible, and the quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are exceptional. Our first contact was with Ross, our salesperson, and he immediately set the tone for the entire experience. Ross was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and--most importantly--there was absolutely no pressure. We never felt like we were being "sold" something. Instead, we felt like we were working with someone who genuinely wanted to help us make the right decisions for our home. Then there was Travis, our Project Manager, who was outstanding throughout the entire process. He was always available to answer our questions, kept us informed, and never once made us feel like we were a bother. No matter how many questions we had, Travis was patient, responsive, and incredibly helpful. What really impressed us, though, was the level of personal attention from the ownership. One of the owners, Ryan McGlinch, actually came out to our home himself to measure the door frame for our new front door. He then took the time to go through our entire project with me in detail. He knew exactly what we were having done, understood the details of the project, and made me feel as though I was his only customer. That level of personal involvement is remarkable and says a lot about the kind of company McGlinch and Sons Co. is. The finished product is beautiful, but just as important to us was the experience getting there. McGlinch and Sons Co. exceeded our expectations in every arena--from sales and communication to project management, craftsmanship, and ownership involvement. We absolutely love our new exterior and would recommend McGlinch and Sons Co. without hesitation. If you're looking for a company that stands behind its reputation, genuinely cares about its customers, and delivers an exceptional finished product, look no further. Five stars all the way!

Roof, gutters and Hardie siding. Final job by subcontractors overall good. It's a lot of work for a…read morehomeowner, yet we solicited several bids to ensure competitive pricing. The journey and process to get to agreement, then completion, painful too often. And completion of details difficult. Thus a C+, B- rating. I wish that I had all good things to say and writing this critique was unnecessary. Some of several aggravations. The roof was completed in a day by many Mexican immigrants. Project included installing roof vents. The vent tubes were not attached at the fans -- Despite assurances from the supervisor that it was definitely done. NO THEY WERE NOT. Thus required request and debate with the company for follow-up. Their service man came and said he completed. NO THEY WERE NOT. A year later, condensation formed on the ceiling. Requiring repeat call, visit. We received assurances that the third time they were now properly connected. This is the most basic of very important work. I do not understand. Not difficult to do - for someone with reasonable skills and honest effort. The siding took 3 months. The workers tried to complete a lot of work on the final day. They left the porch filthy and muddy. Final Hardie plank trim that was not properly painted by Hardie. Not done by McGlinch. Requiring me to paint. They did not properly reinstall flood lights. The contract agreement required increasing soffit ventilation. Despite following up 5 times, to my verification, completion unverified. Disappointing. It can be a challenging world. Our hope was a fourth generation company would have made things far easier and that we were in good hands, we could have relied on them and they were looking out for us. Their own quality assurance. Is that too much to ask.

I have nothing but praise for this company. I'm moving this week and my fireplace stopped working,…read morethe buyer for my condo required it to be in working condition so I set about trying to find a place to call. A neighbor recommended this place, I called today and they were able to fit me in today as well. Mike showed up and was able to diagnose the problem, clean the fireplace and fix the problem, and was in and out of my house within an hour. The cost was $400, when I called on the phone they said costs usually started at $200, but this was fine by me because I believe he had to replace a part and do a bit more work to get the fireplace to work. They do take credit cards and there are no fees to use one, also. Based on this experience I would absolutely use Ace Fireplace again if I was having fireplace issues.

Newmyer Kitchen and Bath completed a bathroom remodel for us in 2025 and we are very, very pleased…read morewith how it turned out. The bathroom is small and increasing the size was not an option, so we weren't sure that "rearranging" the space would get us the bigger shower that we were hoping for, but Aimee (the designer) came out and took measurements and later presented us with a layout that would accomplish our goal. The finished product not only provides us with a bigger shower but it is absolutely gorgeous. There were some "hiccups" along the way, some major and some lesser so, but Aimee and Lauren (the scheduler) were reassuring and professional, and every issue was addressed. The crew always arrived when scheduled and, because of their professionalism and thoughtfulness we were not inconvenienced anywhere near as much as might be expected when you are living in the home during a construction project. I would definitely recommend Newmyer Kitchen and Bath to our friends and neighbors.

There's one more project in our future, and we'll definitely use Newmyer.

My wife and I recently replaced our kitchen cabinets and were delighted to work with Ron Bonner of…read moreWholesale Builder Supply, Inc. in Wixom. Ron was very helpful and patient as he explained the different grades of cabinetry available (I believe his company carries 9 varieties of kitchen and bath cabinets) and helped us choose the right style and color of cabinets for our project. Ron was also very helpful in addressing a number of questions we had, both before and after our cabinet selection, and always responded promptly to our emails and calls. He also came to our condo at least three times (and probably more), first to offer his input on design, which proved to be invaluable, and later to work out details, make changes, etc. and to participate in the delivery and installation of the cabinets. He also worked with my wife, who wanted to add a feature as a surprise to me, locating what she wanted, changing the plans as necessary to install it, etc., all without disclosing her surprise to me. Now that the cabinets have been installed, some adjustments/corrections/additions will be necessary. Ron has cooperated fully and promptly, including offering to do some work that is really the responsibility of the installing contractor, and we are completely confident that all final matters will be fully and fairly addressed/resolved as promptly as possible. Finally, this company's prices were highly competitive. We "price shopped" the cabinetry at other well known suppliers in Metro Detroit, and no one else even came close to matching, let alone beating, the price and quality Whole Builder Supply offered. In summary, we cannot say enough good things about Ron Bonner and Wholesale Builder Supply and recommend both without reservation.

We compared with several different companies and decided with John McCarter and I am glad we did. Our experience started with Clyde, who really did win this deal for them. He was the ONLY one who brought us any kind of mock up for our house, offered design suggestions, and even gave us advice for our roof for a future project. I highly suggest you ask for him. He explained the entire project and how it would work. Next we worked with James, who did final field measures. And double crossed the t's and dotted the i's to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted before they ordered. We very much appreciated this. While we were working with James, we had an attic inspection done by Jim who caught a leak in our attic! So added bonus, always better to find that sooner. When you have a project this large, things ARE GOING to go wrong. The important thing is how does the company handle things when they go wrong. And I can give nothing but the highest praise to this company and specifically our Project Manager John Giese in this regard. He always got in front of every issue, quickly communicated everything and kept the project on track The job is split into separate crews, Vas was the Forman for the actual siding. And to this day I can't believe how fast and efficient his crew was. The gutter team of Hunter, Aubrey, and Jason were quick and offered great guidance! Helped us consolidate a downspout!
