Came in for a window tint and received a call an hour later asking if I was aware of a dent on my car, which I already thought was a strange question considering I only brought it in for window tinting. I told them I was not aware of any dent because there wasn't one before my visit. He then sent me a picture of it. I called back and explained that the dent was not there prior to bringing my car in, but he continued denying responsibility. When I arrived to pick up my car, he still refused to admit fault and apparently had no camera footage or proof. I'm beyond pissed. The dent is in a terrible spot on a curved panel, so now I'm looking at over $1,000 in repairs. The tint itself looks great, but the sketchiness of this situation completely ruined the experience. I was hoping to also get my audio system looked at, but they no longer offer that service here. Bummer. But they recommended someone close who I could go to, so at least there's that. I do feel like I need to mention one last thing. Every sticker I had on my vehicle received multiple slices to it through the cutting process of the tinting. More than $30 in brand new stickers defaced. I didn't notice it till the next day, otherwise I would have asked for a reduction in price. Brought my new wagon to Jay at M J Audio & Tint to have the front windows done back in Feb. He offered the best price and was able to get me in quickly - Other shops were charging 2x more for the same work and were scheduling out about a week. After having the front two windows done and allowing the appropriate amount of time for the tint to cure (about a week, with the car in the sun), I noticed a few bubbles in the main and 1/4 windows of the drivers side. Right around this same time, COVID strikes and everyone is on lockdown here in LA County. Awesome ‍ The imperfections weren't huge, but I knew they were there and it was a new car so it bugged me more than I'm willing to admit. Fast forward to July and I felt safe enough to venture out. I called Jay on Monday and he was able to fit me in this morning. He re-did the bubbled tint free of charge and was as courteous and professional and even more meticulous. Went in for a tint job for my new Tesla Model 3. MJ Audio and Tint did a great job and at a really great price. They have a sheet that shows examples of various tint levels and can provide suggestions. I ended up going with 15% in the rear and 35% in the front. Couldn't be happier with the results. Be sure to make a call to schedule an appointment before hand. The job took about 2-3 hrs for the Tesla Model 3. After the job is done, he recommended not using the windows for 24 hours and to minimize use for a day or two after that to allow the tint to set. read more

I had more than 16 cars so far in my life and all tinted after purchase or leased it. One of my favorite shop was moved out due to new building construction in DTLA. I called Jay to negotiate the price and very reasonable for ceramic UV cut film on it. I set the appointment and dropped my car. He said it will take 1:30 - 2hours and completed as promised. Had my car windows tinted several days ago, so far so good, I see some bubbles on rear left and right doors, but overall, MJ did a good job. I don't bother to go back now as he has a life-time warranty. I came here to get a tint job, and possibly some sound deadening for my rear deck. Jay even lent me his car so I could go back home and get the sound deadening material. Turns out removing the rear deck and applying the sound deadener was a lot more work than tinting the car, but I ended up paying only $50 more than if I had just had the tinting done. On top of that Jay was nice enough to let me use his desk to get some work done while I waited for him. And to point out some flaws in prior jobs done elsewhere. As mentioned elsewhere, Jay runs a one-man operation, so you know the job won't be assigned to some minion, and yours will be the main focus of attention. I drove off satisfied, with nicely tinted windows and my stereo sounding way better than before, what with most of the rattles and metallic resonance gone. I've been to 3 other audio places in the west SF valley, I liked them all, but I think I'll be back here for some after market audio installations. read more
