Let me start by saying I used to vouch for this business, but as of lately I really don't like a lot of things that I think should be addressed. I have gotten my eyebrows microbladed through by mellie, the owner, about a year ago. When I first got them done they looked amazing and I loved them, but not even four months or so after they started fading a lot. The brown color turned into an ashy-gray. Mind you I take really good care of my skin, was careful to follow all after-care instructions, and I don't spend much time in the sun. I went to another microblading artist and she said that the ink that mellie uses is cheap quality! And that is why it fades to gray. She fixed my brows and they actually have lasted almost six months still looking fresh. I think mellie is more concerned about her eyelash and microblading classes- clearly that's where she's making all her money. Also I notice she only posts photos of microblading immediately after it's been done - when it looks good. Im curious to know what her clients eyebrows look like after a few weeks or months. Also I think it's important to mention the former salon she used to work for, Paris Nails, has horrible reviews, which I seriously don't think is a coincidence. She doesn't seem to care about her other customers. Whenever I go there I feel like she can be really cold, she doesn't always greet people when they walk in. She just comes off like she's not really into the customer service aspect unless you're giving her 1,000s of dollars. As for her classes, I find it really irresponsible to teach someone for only three days and then unleash these barely trained people on the world to basically tattoo people's faces. Microblading might tote itself to not be permanent but let me tell you there is no proof that it completely fades. To trust your face to the hands of someone that was trained for three days seems rather risky. In many states in order to microblade you need to pass a pathology class, and meet other criteria's, CT currently has no laws in place on who can and cannot do it. Just be wary ladies. Also if you are an eyelash or microblading model for her, mellie completely ignores you the entire time while catering to the people paying her. I was a model one time for eyelash extensions for one of her classes and she was really rude the whole time, barely told us what to do or what to expect, and then as soon as they don't need you anymore you leave and they don't even say goodbye. My point basically is I don't think she is as nice as she pretends to be and she only seems to care about the money not the wellbeing of her clients. read more

My first appointment with Mellie was back in 2015. I had very thin, sparse, non-existent brows that I couldn't stand drawing in every day as it took up so much of my time. I researched Mellie and her work for a very long time before I actually booked an appointment with her. I have to say after that first visit, I was hooked! She's so professional, thorough and precise with everything that she does. I vocalized my concerns about my shape and what I would like my eyebrows to look like. She took my measurements of my nose, eyes and eyebrows to make sure everything was symmetrical to my entire face. She thoroughly discussed and walked me through everything that she was doing during the procedure. Honestly, I'm so relaxed and almost in a state of Zen when she's microblading me. It's like a spa day for me! It is now 2023. I've had two babies in the pandemic and breastfed both of them and couldn't wait to be finished with breastfeeding so that I could go see her to have a touch up appointment! That's how great she is. I give Mellie and M Beauty Studio my highest recommendation. I did my research. I was confident in my decision to trust M Beauty Studio with my face... and put my faith in Mellie. I chose the Nano technique. I was happy to take a 40 minute drive to this clean, professional spa atmosphere and had a very specific style of brow to replicate (minimized arch reminiscent of Jessica Alba). This look matches the growth of my natural brow and I've had great success in cultivating my best brow look with tweezers & Anastasia of Beverly Hills pencil. However, for years I've craved the magic of "I woke up like this!" Mellie listened with great patience. She mapped & re-mapped for me and together we collaborated on my desired look. I was joyfully tearful over the results. I adhered meticulously to the after care instruction. My eyebrows look BETTER than what I was achieving on my own. People in my circle have generously complimented the outcome. Yesterday I went in for the initial touch up (no charge). Mellie went to work... then handed me the mirror & I said: "Wow... I love my eyebrows, and I just feel so confident in my skin especially knowing we wear a mask every day. The focal points are your eyes and your eyebrows, and I did show a picture of before, and after and I get so many compliments that people don't realize that they are not even natural eyebrows. She did an excellent job from the minute I walked in, explained everything 100%, made sure I was comfortable, explained the process, and talked about my muscle tone and the need for perfection; she can only do so much with muscle tone. She can't control muscle tone, which I understand entirely. I went for my second follow up which is entirely free, and she did a beautiful job. I was very nervous at first, but she is quick and talks you through the process. I did my research and read the reviews, and we all have our opinions of the service we deserve. Mellie is amazing! I was very skeptical about getting my eyebrows micro bladed and contemplated it for a year. My step daughter went to Mellie and highly recommended her. After following her on Instagram and Facebook and viewing endless before and after pictures I finally made an appointment with a friend of mine and ventured an hour and a half to Connecticut! It was such a great decision and I wish I did it a lot sooner than I did. Mellie is so professional and talented, her shop is clean and modern and she is extremely knowledgeable and informative regarding her procedures. Amanda's the best in the salon. I got my eyebrows done by her & she's really amazing. From when I first entered the salon I was really nervous about the pain & also stories I've heard about my eyebrows becoming infected afterwards but she was very professional & assured me that everything was going to be fine & just her whole attitude was very positive & made me feel like "yes I'm confident & I trust her, it'll come out great & everything will be fine". Mellie is very dedicated and knows how to run a business effectively. Every single employee that has provided services for me has done outstanding work. The employees get along well and work cooperatively as a team. I've been going there for about 2 years for a variety of services and it's the best salon of its type in this area. MBeauty Studio has been the only business I've patronized that follows CDC guidelines for Covid-19 safety regulations and that care has protected me and many other clients from contracting the virus. Making an appointment is easy online and I like that a deposit is required. I have only one minor suggestion and that is to get a wider variety of Perfect Match polishes. Today I had my first microblading experience with Mellie. First I'll start by saying the salon is beautiful! You can tell she puts her all into whatever she does, wether it be her salons appearance or her eyebrow work. It was literally the fanciest salon I have ever stepped foot in. She even had little bottles of water and chips to treat her clients while they wait. I thought that was great customer service. Next, her eyebrow work. She fully explained everything she was going to do and what I should expect and do with post care. I was given referrals to a couple places to try for the microblading procedure and I am so happy I chose to go with her. Her technique is so natural looking. Today was my third time having microblading done by Mellie. Let me say, she is: professional, clean, on time, and a true master of her craft. She takes her time making her measurements and checking with you throughout the process to see if you're happy with: the shape of your brows, the thickness, and the color. Mellie makes you feel comfortable during the process and takes multiple measurements before beginning. Great and efficient service! I had my eyebrows microbladed by Mellie just in time for summer and prior to being in two weddings!
