I have been going to this place for years. The staff is always super friendly and nice. I always see Nina and she takes great care of me and does a great job. I have now been taking my son and they do a great job on him. If you have any issues with your haircut (usually never me but some times my son) they fix it or adjust with no issues. They always give my kids lollipops which they love! read more

I've been here for my three most recent cuts. The primary barber impressively remembered me from my initial visit and how I preferred my cut. Both barbers, whose names are mentioned in other reviews, are competent, efficient, and extremely personable without forcing the conversation. They are proactive at removing ear hair and cleaning bushy eyebrows if desired. They finish off with a straight razor, which many places seem to lack these days. Price is very reasonable, and I identify with the old-school rock music softly playing in the background. read more

We were in this shopping center when my friend stopped here to get his hair cut. Shop has many chairs, though only Nina was there working. She knows her stuff....very skilled and talented. Ana tried telling me I was wrong when I asked her to please fade in my lines telling me it was fine. She didn't even line up each side of my head so she completely jacked it up and was a waste of money. Low skin fades should take longer than 4 minutes last time I checked. read more

I've always had good luck with ethnic barber shops. Spanish, Black, Asian, you name it - as they are the last defenders of the barber arts; maintaining techniques that "upscale salons" have either forgotten or never mastered. That said, when precision is your goal, there is no substitute for a barber. For instance, I checked this place out based solely on making a phone call and asking them "if they cut black people's hair." Yes I know that may sound a little bit improper and insulting," but hey, what is a brother supposed to do living in the suburbs of Fairfax Station? So anyway, as per many Yelpers have mentioned, Kent is the man to see. Not only does he work quickly and efficiently, but he's very personable and loves cracking jokes. All in all, the shop is exactly what you would expect of a barbershop. It's clean, it houses a multitude of haircut photos for clueless men, and the overall environment is customer service oriented. P.S. If you go to George Mason University, and you are black, and you want a solid haircut + razor line up + razor shave, then you need to go see Kent. My boyfriend needed a trim - both his beard and the back of his head (he has long dreds but the sides and back are trimmed very short because his hair was too heavy...anyway...). I usually do it all at home with clippers, but they broke so we decided to go to a barbershop to clean him up. He has not been in a barbershop for 15 years. Kent greeted us when we walked in and my boyfriend described what he wanted. Kent immediately got it. His attention to detail was amazing. My boyfriend's beard has a tendency to grow crooked but Kent knew how to make look even. I had Edward Scissor Hands flashbacks as he sculpted his beard with scissors... I decided to check out this place for a haircut. Apparently, Mike, who many people in the comments mentioned, does NOT work there anymore. I got my hair cut by Victor. I asked for a slick back fade long length (like in one of their photos). The result was decent overall I guess, but I wasn't sure if he had done this style before because he needed some help from one of the other barbers. So the back hair was not as symmetrical/smooth as it could've/should've been, in my opinion, and the fade was not really there at all... That said, I think it was alright for giving me the sense of trying this hairstyle for the first time though. read more

If you want a bad haircut this is your spot. After trying it twice with 2 separate barbers, same result. The second was way worse though. I asked for a very simple haircut and she nodded like she understood. After watching her take the clippers way to short i stopped her and attempted to explain what i wanted. All i heard her say sounded like " duck duck duck" i got up and paid for a horrible haircut for which i should have learned my lesson after the first time. I hate leaving bad reviews but this is warranted. Find somewhere else to get a haircut. read more

This is what my young adult's hair looks like.....thanks to Lilly. Disgusted and angry at the botch job. She is good for older men who don't have as much hair (no offense). Not returning here. Asked for a fade and received a dock.....uses thinning shears instead of regular shears. Stood on her tip toes to get to the top and side....wonder why the chair height couldn't be adjusted. I recently moved from NY to Northern VA for work. I've had the same Italian barber in NY for around 8 years. It took me months to finally find a person that comes close to my guy. If you want a relentless attention to detail cut go see a small middle-aged asian man who's name I believe is Kent. He's got the farthest chair from the entrance. This man has worked on his craft for quite some time you can tell and I've gone to him for 4 cuts, and they have been immaculate. Excellent barbers and excellent price! Previously I had been going to the Springfield Mall barbershop until they had to move to Lorton in 2012. I didn't want to travel all the way to Lorton and so started a search for a barber that was closer to my work. Well after trying another barber in the Chantilly area, I came upon this place. It seemed to be a nice and quaint shop so I decided to give it a try. After the first haircut by one of the two gentlemen that work there, I would say I was mighty impressed. They took the time to cut your hair and they use the hot shaving foam afterwards (which seems to be something that is skimped on at other more expensive shops). I usually go to whoever is free at the time but either barber takes his time to carefully give you a nice hair cut. Afterwards they take the extra effort to razor trim anything that may look out of place. They don't have to do this part but they do and it's cool that they choose to. One of the guys even makes the extra effort to blow excess hair off my shoes! I've never had other barbers do that before! All this for only $14!! Old world craftsmen at old world prices! I've since changed jobs and work near Falls Church. But I like these guys so much that I still keep coming back to them during the weekends. There also never seems to be a long wait even if the shop is crowded. They have women barbers there but I have not tried them so can't comment beyond the two gentlemen barbers. read more

Tried this place for the first time and I liked my experience. Hopefully it goes well the next times. I've been going to a barber shop in fairfax for a while and needed something closer, so I tried this place out. The ladies cutting the hair were focused and very attentive. The previous place I went to, the ladies were okay, but kept chatting in their native language and sometimes looked distracted. These ladies cutting my hair at this M Barber were also from Vietnam, but they weren't gossiping as much and paid more attention to my hair, which I like. The price is a little higher though at $17 for a normal cut. It's probably the best cut you can get for $17 these days. Anything less will probably be sloppy. I will be coming back to this place and will get my cut here again. read more

Phan has always been there for me and my hair, through thick and thin and would always greet me a smile and awesome cut every time. However, I have recently moved to Vienna which is too far from Chantilly for me so I went in one last time to say goodbye to my savior. But plot twist, she wasn't there! I stopped by every week for 4 weeks so I could have the chance to say goodbye to my only barber but would always get the same reason for her absence, "her mother was sick." Giving up hope and in a desperate need of a haircut, I stopped by a barbershop in Vienna near my house and who do I see, it's Phan! I almost cried right then and there. I found out that no, Phan's mother was not sick and that Phan had recently quit and was now working at Vienna Barbers (where I went) to work closer to her home. Quiney does a great job with flat tops. She often has people waiting in line. I always give her a decent tip. She's friendly and usually in good spirits. Sometimes when I can't wait I will try the other barbers. None do flat tops as well as her, but they try. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy, but the shopping center does get a bit of traffic. read more
