Avoid this place at all costs! They have a written policy that if you are late, they go to the next person. I had made two appointments for my children (consecutively, not simultaneously). We ran late and I expected the first appointment to be cancelled. Upon arrival, we apologized for being late and wanted to get the haircut for the second kid. I assume the owner aggressively confronted us and said that since we did not call him, he has canceled both appointments and if we want a haircut, we have to pay for two. I understand a written policy, but the rest of his demands (paying for two rather than the one remaining cut), his nakedly aggressive behavior, and disrespectful tone are not OK at all. At least stick to your own rules and don't change them on a whim. Note that the place was almost empty and the barber that we requested was on his phone and not busy. In summary, horrible attitude, unreasonable demands, and abysmally bad customer service. read more

Way too expensive for a shave cut. Half way through the cut, he got on his phone. Very rough and still didn't get it right. Cut my neck with the foil shaver. Couldn't get my goatee cut right. Still uneven and flat bottom. Definite language barrier. I even showed him the difference in the length on my chin and he continued to cut the short side shorter. Guess it's to be expected from a walk in. I have to somewhere else to get it fixed or shave the entire goatee off now before the Gala tonight. I just keep finding things. So my kid needs some style that's not supplied by the military base barber shop or Hair Cuttery - no offense to either. I'm not taking him to my stylist cause she costs a trillion dollars, so I did research on local places and chose Elite for his first "fancy cut". Kiddo has been growing out his hair forever. I do like his hair long, but now he's got bangs in his eyes and curlies past his ear. He needs a hair cut! We walked in with an appointment with Sam. This place did 2 nice things for us: The door was open for air flow and someone started smoking a cig outside. Jay noticed I was covering my nose with my jacket, and shut the door for me. I'm super pregs so this was really nice and when we come back, we'll make an appt with Jay or Sam. Second thing: my kid had a full on temper tantrum when it was time to actually get the cut. He took a breath outside with dad. Then Sam greeted me and I said I'd get kiddo from outside. He still came in with tears. It was def team work with Sam. He kept calm. I kept calm. Kiddo eventually sat and got the haircut. He looks super handsome! When we all got back in the car, I asked if he felt okay and you know how kids just forget ALL THE DRAMA. So he just joyfully answers "Yeah!" We paid a full adult price, but if you're looking for a professional to give your kid some super style, I totally rec Sam. The sign in the shop basically says he's the only one that doesn't follow the same pricing structure as the others. I'm assuming he's the owner or a master stylist, but I don't know! read more

Came in after finding them on Yelp. The place was clean and looked like a typical barber shop. As soon as I entered, the owner Sam came to cash someone out. He looked over with an annoyed face saying if you don't have appointment we can't help you. Luckily, there was another barber walking by that was willing to squeeze me in. I thought the worst was over and was debating whether to stay and get my haircut. I look up to see Sam yelling at an elderly Spanish man. He's telling the man I don't understand you and shooing him away. I stand up and tell him that he's just asking where the bathroom is. There is no need to treat people like that. As I'm ready to leave, the barber tells me he's ready to cut my hair. I stayed in the hopes of making sure the elderly man isn't treated badly again. Once in the barber seat things got better. The barber apologized for Sams attitude. He complained that this was costing them new customers but since he's the owner they're limited on how much they can change things. Additionally, the booking system keeps them busy. Each barber is limited to 30 minutes since the booking system has a new appointment every 30 minutes. It didn't seem like they were taking time like at other barbershops because of the time limit. Overall, the cut was good but the ownership is downright nasty. read more

I took my 2 year old for a cut today since he's having his birthday party this weekend and he was long overdue for a cut. I called ahead to make sure they took toddlers and made an appointment for the next hour. We got there and Roberto was ready for us and had my son choose what he wanted to watch on his phone. He picked Cars (of course) and Roberto was so patient with him and was playful and sweet with my son. He sat on my lap for the cut. My son didn't cry once. My son has had two other cuts prior to this, one at cartoon cuts (it was awful) and another at another barbor where it cost full price for a cut. This is by far my favorite! For years, I've been looking for a good barber in Fairfax whenever I visit home. I've never found one until now. Making a reservation online was easy, and I got a cut from Shakir, who was very detailed and meticulous, yet fast, with my cut. He gave me a nice fade on the side and shaped the top just the way I wanted it without much direction from me. For only $25 (plus tip), it is not a bad deal at all considering barbers in big cities charge much more, and other barbers in the area charge almost as much for much worse results. Elite Barbershop is one of, if not the best shops in this area. All the barbers are professional and do really great work. My favorite is Frank though, he pays great attention to detail and always does exactly what I've asked. I had him thread my eyebrows after having bad experiences elsewhere and once again he did not disappoint. Hands down the best barber I've ever had! The prices are very reasonable for the quality of work you get. It is also very convenient to book appointments through their website. Absolute professionals. My regular barber Fred has 30 year experience, using his scissors like an art form. It is always packed and hard to get hair cut as walk in. I came in as a walk-in hoping they would take me and was greeted with, "No problem!". I was promptly assisted by a fantastic barber whose name escapes me. It's extremely hard to find a great barber for kids' cuts. No matter how many barber shops I've taken my boys to (even high-end), many barbers are just not very good when it comes to cutting kids' hair, even if they're sitting completely still. Most of the time, the fade is never blended, and hen my husband ends up trying to fix their haircuts at home. After forgetting that my eldest son had picture day this week, I made a last-minute appointment with Frank at this barber shop, since we happened to be in the area, and Frank had an opening to see both boys. To my surprise, his talent with clippers and scissors, and his speed and precision, were better than the usual barber I take my kids too (and less expensive to boot!).
