My regular barber is Not consistent with my hair cut. Occasionally he would miss a hair or two. But this time, I got home and looked in the mirror. My hair seems one side is shorter than the other. I asked a buddy whose hair consistently looks great where he gets his hair cut and I needed done today because i have an interview the next day. So, he recommended John at Eric's Style barber shop. i called the shop and spoke to John. He is friendly and funny. He said he was fully booked for the day and said he could take me first thing in the morning but I told him about my interview. To my surprise, he said ok come in after his last customer at about 7pm. Even though, I have never been to his shop. What a customer service to squeeze me in when most shop would just say sorry. When I arrived and sat on his chair, he said your hair is not even. lol. This guy is good. I told him what and how I wanted my hair trim. He carefully cut and trimed exactly what I wanted. Within 15 minutes I was out the door. John is now my permanent go to guy when I need a hair cut. He does it consistently on every hair cut. Long story short, I moved out of the area and started going elsewhere, I have never been able to find someone as talented as Eric, so I am going to make the drive from now on to go back to the very best color/highlight stylist I have ever been to in my life! He adjusted my style when I had post-baby hair loss and again when I began to gray and my hair texture changed. First let me say the guy who left "one" star and has only been coming to Eric for a "couple years" obviously doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. Eric is not a traditional "barber" where you can just walk in and sit down and expect to get your hair cut, he is a "hairdresser" where Appts, must be made in order to be seen. You may get lucky every now and then if you walk in, but it is not at all like a traditional barber that you can just walk in off the street and expect to get worked on. I on the other hand have been going to Eric for the past 9 yrs. I began seeing him when he worked next door in the nail salon and he rented a little corner in they're shop. He then opened up his own shop two doors down and how happy I was for him as he had worked so hard to make his dream of owning his own shop happen. Eric use to work for Alexander De' Paris but hated being told by Alexander that he had to cut hair Alexander's way and not the customers way, so he left and started cutting hair on his own in the nail salon. He believes 110% that you listen to what the customer wants and you cut hair the way the customer wants. I am a very picky person when it comes to getting my hair done and will hit the roof if its not done right. I use to get my nails done at the salon he worked in. While getting my nails done, I would watch Eric cut hair and I was extremely impressed with the work that he would do. Every two weeks I would get my nails done and each time was shocked at the before and after looks that Eric's customers would walk out with. I was amazed at the transformation and decided after about two months of watching him, that I wanted him to do my hair. I found a picture of what I wanted done and made the appt. I was stunned at the work he did, he cut my hair exactly like the picture and he was amazingly fast at doing it as well. I was at that moment a lifelong customer. I have referred many of my coworkers as well as my mother who lives in Va. Beach to him. They too are now permanent customers. My mother drives down from the beach to have her hair done by him, and my coworkers have now been customers for more than 6 yrs with him. Its very rare to find a hairdresser that can do work like he does and one who listens to exactly what you want and can provide it to you. I don't know what the other guy was talking about that Eric doesn't cut hair much anymore, but I am here to tell you that Eric will never stop cutting hair. He is booked solid daily and is by far the busiest one in his shop. He takes great pride in doing hair and will go the extra mile to make you a satisfied customer. Trust me when I say you will not regret seeing him. Yes his prices went up just a little. I use to pay about $25.00 to get my hair cut when he was working at the nail salon, but now he has his own place, I pay about $35.00, which is still by far much cheaper than these other salons, that claim to have great hairdressers.
