Located right off the Kimball ramp of the Kennedy Expressway, and just one block south of the Home Depot at Kimball and Addison. The prices are fantastic. The employees are just the kind of people who should be working in a candy store-very sweet. They have chocolate covered everything here: nuts, berries, pretzels, plus those yogurt-covered candies, bags of whole nuts (cashews at $5.99 a lb.), chocolate and yogurt coated caramel and nut patties, and lot's of very reasonably priced holiday and gift packaged items. Many are between $5-10.00. (Great picks for those folks you don't really like but for some reason you need to give them a gift.) Or stocking stuffers. I acted as my own parent here and said: "OK, now you can buy one thing here, just ONE!" I ended up with a nice large bag of something I know I will eat in one day once I start on them: Chocolate-coated sponge candy. An 11 ounce bag for $5.14! Such a deal. If I'm a good boy this week, perhaps my inner parent will let me go back for more goodies!

Chocolate, nuts, gift boxes, bulk orders--whatever you want, they've got it. I left with half a pound each of milk chocolate malt balls and strawberry yogurt covered raisins. Also, when you buy from the bulk bins, the very-sweet candy lady gives you a handful of candy to sample. You know, to juice up for your run. Duh.

These are the most tender flavorful gummy bears I've ever had bar none, they are so addicting, if you buy these or the gummy worms buy lots of them or regret it as soon as you pop the last one in your mouth. I recently attended an event where there were boxes of these sample size packages - everyone was hoarding them. I grabbed a few packages to enjoy later and then decided to open a pack to enjoy at the event. I didn't really think about them again until I got to my office and started unloading my pockets and began filling my desk drawer - I pulled up the news feed on my computer and grabbed a few package to snack on while watching - after about 15 minutes I decided to wrap things up and noticed quite a few empty packages on my desk, okay maybe a few more than quite a few, they are that good, like none other - I don't know exactly where I can buy these or order them online but I'll definitely figure it out...

This is a cute space with LOTS of nostalgic candy. I picked up several items I remember enjoying at my grandmother's house when I was a kid, including gummi rings, violet mints, wafer saucers, and more. The owner is a delight to talk to, and everything is very reasonably priced. Dizzy Cow also has small gifts (mostly for kids.) There are toys, lip balms, little craft kits... lots of things you'd want if you were on your way to a niece or nephew's house or a babysitting gig. I picked out an ice cream-shaped bath loofah for my sister, and the owner went WAY above and beyond, wrapping it with ribbon, a sticker, and a sweet little bubble blower for free. Wow! I heard Dizzy Cow does goodie bags. I will definitely be asking after them the next time I am tasked with hosting a party at my job. When I was done shopping, the owner also recommended a store down the block, which I went to and enjoyed. North Center's small business owners clearly know and love each other. :)

The items here may not be plentiful but enough to make your next child's party a success. I mean they have very typical Mexican products and please don't let the factory setting discourage you, this place is for everyone including the public. I had a very nice chat with one of the owners who was extremely pleasant and helpful. Of course if you are looking for glamorous items, than keep going, this is a typical (pretend your in Mexico) stop. Wooden floors that creak, cement walls that have probably never been painted and an air of vintage sewing machine factory, since this is what it was back in the 30's. But come by and get your kids party supplies. When it comes to pinatas, this is the one stop that I highly recommend. Although I remember that the pinatas are so typical and made of cardboard that takes your strongest cousin to crack open.

They come in a variety of flavors and there are now several spin-off products like these Nerds Gummy Clusters. The clusters are made up of your everyday Nerds adhered to a berry flavored gummy core. Each piece offers a unique textural contrast on the palate as the outside is crunchy and the inside is chewy. It's been years since I've had "Fruit Roll-Ups Fruit by the Foot", but I thought the gummy flavor was like what I remember those tasting like. Personally, I find these much more enjoyable than the one note standard Nerds as the berry gummy core adds additional flavor and texture. If you've had a Nerds Rope then you know what to expect as it's essentially the same thing, but in bite sized portions. I've reviewed the Gummy Clusters Rainbow before, but this was my first time having the Very Berry version. It can be challenging to differentiate the Nerds flavors as they're all super sweet and tend to taste relatively alike. I would have to eat this back-to-back with the Rainbow version to possibly tell a difference, but as far as the flavor goes, I think they are both somewhat similar. The obvious difference is the coloring, which is an improvement in my opinion. The packaging is a lovely blue instead of dark pink and the candy itself utilizes blue, purple, and pink Nerds. This is as opposed to the Rainbow's green, yellow, orange, pink, and purple, which I don't find as visually appealing. Although I enjoyed both version of the Gummy Clusters, the edge goes to Very Berry, which like its sibling, is Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My ranking of Nerds candy: 1.
