Here's a list of what you get at Liberty that you don't get at their closest competitor. -The entire facility is on concrete, as opposed to mud with metal shards sticking out of it. Easier to navigate, safer for both you AND your truck, and you won't leave looking like you just ran a dirt track race. -The people are helpful, and understand if you're a bit of a newbie. The scale man kindly explained that all of my types of metal will be exchanged for tickets, which you then take to the office to receive payment. The people in the office were nice too, and answered my questions. -FAIR PRICING. I had a little bit of regular ferrous scrap, plus some copper. Walked away with $40, which was quite a bit more than I expected. Feigenbaum would have paid me less than half of that, I assure you. I'm not about to start a scrapping business, but when I come across large amounts of metal, it's going here from now on.

A plus all around…read more I had a junk vehicle and After researching that when you donate a car to charity they get very little $$ (on average $50) I decided to scrap the car myself and then donate to a charity. Calamari was prompt to answer email, courteous on the phone, and stellar in person! Tow driver got a huge flatbed into my small slanted driveway with no problem. He then used a serious of tricks like letting air out of tires on one side to get my large heavy van smoothly and safely into the lift. He was personable and courteous and didn't laugh when I cried a little saying goodbye to my old pal. Down at the office they had cash available to me within the hour and all the proper paperwork to show the tax office. Additionally more money than I expected!

Rumor has it that bottles/cans are brought up from NJ and taking advantage of CT's higher redemption pay-out ... at the expense of all of us. Most days they have 3 stations dedicated to these truck's loads coming in DAILY, and for the rest of the community sometimes 2 or 1 stations. It was nice while it latest but I've given up trying to go here.

If you hate the idea of throwing away 2024 beverage deposit money, go here instead. The staff were quick and kind, helping usher big deposit loads to the bay as needed. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, have your items counted, have them bagged in a clear bag, or bring a dollar to buy five clear bags they helpfully have available in case you show up with a kitchen bag like I first did. If you're feeling extra kind, rinse those bottles and cans to deter those aggressive summer insects. After you make your way past those yellow carts, collect your cash, buy more beer, and cheers to CCRC!
