We have used Elite Sub-Zero several times over the years and had been happy with their work. When…read morein 2025, I found water on the floor in front of our Sub-Zero, I called them and Jaime came out and repaired our water line to the ice maker and everything seemed fine. About six months later, I noticed that our hardwood floors adjacent to the kitchen had started buckling. After looking around, I found about 2 inches of water in the AC wall intake. Then I removed the kick plate of our fridge and saw a slow dripping from the brass connecter to ice machine hose. I called Elite and Jaime came out right away. He was visibly upset. He promised that he would make it right. He used words like "we stand behind our work", "we are going to fix this", etc. I asked him if they could file with their insurance and he told me that he preferred not to do that because they had never filed a claim and wanted to keep it that way. He told me that he had a high school friend that could do the work. Two guys came out to survey the damage and begin the work. The water had leaked under our cabinets, in our pantry and into our hallway and family room. When the one guy ripped out some sheetrock, there was black mold everywhere and he didn't seem to know what he was doing. I immediately hired a home inspector and a certified mold inspector. They told us that the plastic tube of the ice maker had not been sufficient for the Sub Zero. Even the guy that Jaime sent out admitted the Jaime had screwed up. Anyway, to make a long story short, we had to hire a mold expert to bring in massive fans and air filter machines, rip out all the sheetrock, cabinets, and part of the floor. We had to move out of our house for 8 days. They placed thick plastic "walls" from floor to ceiling and we could not use our downstairs for one a month. After all this, when we sent Elite Sub Zero a very detailed invoice, ($28,000+) Jaime told us that his dad said that they were not going to pay us anything for all the damage they had done. Please be warned, Elite Sub Zero is: NOT AUTHORIZED OR CERTIFIED BY SUB ZERO DOES NOT USE SUB ZERO PARTS NOT TRAINED BY SUB ZERO POSSIBLY DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE In fact, they have no relationship with Sub-Zero and there is nothing Elite about them. When you need work or service on your Sub-Zero, call a company that is trained and authorized by Sub Zero, uses Sub Zero parts and has the Sub Zero company standing behind their work and parts. A Sub Zero fridge can last 40 years or more. It is worth it to only have well trained and qualified people to work on it.
