My rating is based on the time it took to order parts and actual repair time. I did not feel there was a sense of urgency in ordering the parts for my dryer and so I went a month without a working appliance. I am thank it was summer and things could air-dry much faster - huge disappointment. However, the techs who came all three times (yes, three trips) were very kind, very professional, and very informative. I called several times to check the status of the parts and repair times, and that staff was understanding of my frustration and appeared to be empathic. I wish I could give this sham excuse for an appliance company a ZERO! The freezer on our Miele refrigerator/freezer went out while we were out of town in early May. The technician sent didn't stay at the house for 5 minutes. He said it need a mother board and door switch on the door. He said the boss would call with additional info. There was not a call for over 2 weeks. I called them and the phone person said someone within the shop said it was a pre-existing condition (i.e. not covered) and they would call back. Again, we never heard anything from them. Long story short; I worked with the home warranty and they sent a second repair company that was competent. It's been six weeks since Astro Appliance first came out to repair my washer. Today would have been their third visit if they had shown up. Appt 1 - came and diagnosed problem. Said they had to order parts. Appt 2 - never showed up. Appt 3 - came with new parts but said it wasn't enough and needed more parts. Appt 4 - never showed up. Appt 5 - never showed up. When they no show, there is no call or text to explain. I had to call them to find out what happened and reschedule. Several times I called but no one answered. It said their machine wasn't full and couldn't accept messages. The man who came to the house was kind and he did fix my dryer on the first visit. We waited 15 days, and they installed the part, but they messed up the simplest connection, so the water from the sink came back into the machine and ruined the entire kitchen. Please be advised that Astro Appliance should not be used for appliance repair. I have been waiting since June 11 for my refrigerator be be repaired. Originally the technician did not keep the appointment and no one called. Secondly, when the technician did come, he could not make the repairs but needed to order a part. I had to wait two weeks for someone who knows how to install the part to be available. There was still a part that needed ordering after all, and I am still waiting. Terrible service. Don't waste your time. They came four times and still didn't fix my dishwasher. The first technician, Ronan, came three times and blamed the plumbing instead of solving the issue. I requested a different technician. I had a licensed plumber check everything, and he confirmed the plumbing was perfectly fine. They sent Egor, who spent the whole time on the phone with Ronan and repeated the same excuse. He was extremely rude and ill-mannered, wouldn't even respond properly while standing in my house, and tried to raise his voice to tell me the issue was with the plumbing -- which had already been ruled out. Astro came out as part of a American Home Shield warranty. My switch on my downdraft vent is broken and they reported it as a missing part and because of that American Home Shield says they don't replace missing parts. The part is not missing, the switch is broken in two pieces. Now I have to wait on another contractor come out and verify that it's actually broken and not missing. I had a problem with my ice maker. Pavel came out quickly and after investigating the problem, he advised that the entire ice maker needed to be replaced. He ordered the new part and said he would contact me within 3-5 days. He followed up promptly when the part came in and came back to replace the ice maker which is now working great! Astro Appliance Repair is incompetent and lacks integrity. They were assigned as my service pro with American Home Shield in the middle of July. I had the unfortunate experience to have a dryer, dishwasher and microwave all break down within a week of each other. They came a week later and did the diagnosis and "ordered parts". I called a week later and asked for an update on the parts. The office manager said she would have to call the parts department and call me back. A week later, I called again with the same answer... she would have to check with the parts department and return my call. After this, she wouldn't answer the phone anymore. I was kind and respectful the entire time and really tried to be understanding of the process. I got AHS involved and they were able to make contact and Astro told them the parts were ordered. I continued to check every week and there was always a different arrival day for parts- they said they had received some parts but not others. I was giving them grace because I know imports have been weird. Then I called AHS again for an update after I received an email that I needed to contact them about my microwave/dryer. Mind you, now it is September 15, a full 2 months after I put in my work order. They said my claim was denied because Astro had reported to them that day SEPTEMBER 15 that they didn't order the parts because my microwave was full of mold and roaches and that my dryer line was clogged and that caused the failure on the dryer. First of all, NO, I don't have roaches or mold and my vent lines are cleaned regularly to prevent a fire. Secondly, WHY would they report this to AHS two months after they diagnosed the unit. They LIED so they wouldn't have to own up to why the parts didn't get ordered. So, I requested a second opinion. The new company came out the same day, diagnosed the units, ordered the parts and will be out today to do the repair. Less than 10 days from start to finish. Astro DID repair my dishwasher, but it took them two trips to figure the parts out and get it completed. I just can't figure out the audacity of this company to treat customers this way and to keep people waiting for months and then lie about the claim. Honestly, I spent enough money going to dry my clothes to have been able to purchase a new dryer. I was kind, patient, understanding and as flexible as I could have been. Totally agree with Wynette R. NEVER have I experienced such incompetence from a repair company. I have now been without a clothes dryer for 41 days out of 74 because of faulty repairs and diagnosis. Over 3 months without the easy latch replacement which they say they haven't received but I confirmed is widely available. He told my wife he had to order the part and it would be 2 weeks. Then they called and said the part was in, 2 days before Christmas. The next phone call was one that they employee, apparently the only one they have, had car trouble and it would be the 29th of December before they could get here. Astro came out to repair an NXR Range and promptly sent a technician who diagnosed the problem. I spoke with them a week later after not hearing from them and they apologized and noted the part would be in within a week. I called back 10 days after the part was supposed to be in and the man on the phone told me they do not even service NXR appliances! I spoke with 4 different people during this month long ordeal and NO ONE said anything about them not servicing NXR, even the technician who worked on the appliance! Observing the technician the first time he came, I had my doubts if he knew what he was doing. After he was at my home for an hour, he tells me he'll see me next time( thru text message found out a part needed to be ordered). After he left, I looked up their review; 1 out of 5! I called AMS the next morning and requested another company to repair my dryer and why. I was told to let them come out a second time to repair, and if the repair was not done, another company would be sent out. They came, said part was defective, and another needed to be ordered. Came back a third time, didn't do the repair, said part was defective and needed to order another part. Long story short, that was the last time they came to my home. It took a week for the new one to come in (which I understand) but 5 hours after he left, we noticed PLASTIC coming out of the ice maker! I have kids and medication that need to stay refrigerated. They couldn't care less. then when I asked them what is the out of pocket expense, they said they don't know. I had problem with Exhaust fan (Downdraft Vent System). I used the warranty company (Fidelity Home Waranty). Astro appliance tech came and he saw that it is not closing properly & hitting on the side and is a safety issue. However, Astro Appliance wrote to my insurance (Fidelity) that exhaust fan is working fine but making some sound.(Asto appliance did not report the problem correctly. Warning, long complaint! Unethical company! Don't trust them, they are liars! I have a convection microwave that (still) needs repair. I contacted my home warranty mid-Sept and they sent Astro out to repair. Apparently my microwave needs a new panel, but they decided upon themselves to replace it with a new microwave (non-convection, cheaper cost, lower value) without even getting approval from the warranty company. Which is a no no per the home warranty. I immediately call the home warranty and they confirmed that they didn't approve it and give Astro a call. While I'm on the phone with the home warranty, Astro lies and state that they replaced the panel, not the microwave. For proof that they actually replaced with a new, substandard microwave, I had to send a video to my home warranty of them coming in my home with a huge microwave box. Then miraculously their story changed and they told my warranty company that GE sent a microwave and not the panel. That's pure BS! Why would GE send a microwave (not even matching the existing) vs a part! So I worked with the warranty company and said, I don't want these liars back in my house until my microwave is fixed. It's now mid-Nov and Astro brings my microwave back un-fixed! When they called to schedule an appointment they said it was repaired. So here I am, almost 2 months without my microwave! Everyone lies at Astro, the receptionist/ customer service, technicians, and managers! Don't trust them! Horrible customer service and absolute poor technician skills. Submitted a service request over a month for a simple refrigerator fix. Was told someone was coming out and they never showed up. I called a to inform Krystle and she said i would have to make a new appointment that was 3 days out. The tech finally shows up and look sat the refrigerator for 2 minutes and says he needs to order a part and would take 5 -7 business days to get here. Fast forward to 6 days later. Tim the technician comes out and "supposedly" fixes the refrigerator. Unfortunately I was not home because I continued take another day off work waiting for them to come fix the issue, so my 76 year mother was there. Tim tells her everything is fixed and leaves. I get home and the refrigerator is not fixed at all. So Tim basically took advantage of an old lady by falsely telling her the he had fixed the issue. Know full well that he had not. What type of person and/or company allows that to happen? I called and spoke with Krystle again and she said there was nothing she could do about it and she had to wait for Tim to get back to the office before anything could be done. Based on this experience and other negative reviews I've seen, I strongly advise caution when dealing with this company. Their business practices are questionable, and I'm surprised they're still operating or being used by home warranty companies. Warning: Beware of their poor service and lack of accountability.
