Walked in on a Thursday afternoon and was able to get my nails done almost immediately! They have TONS of color options and brands I hadn't heard of - so many that I didn't even get a chance to look at them all - and lots of finishes that I haven't seen at other salons, like glitter and matte. I've always wanted really, really glittery gel nails, but most salons can just do a few coats of glitter over a solid color - this place had glitter that went on opaque. Love it!! Also, everyone was super nice, and they have amazing beverages (try the watermelon juice) Emily is the best - she did my nails and she was so sweet and nice and fun to chat with. Plus, she did a GREAT job and my nails are exactly how I wanted them. Oh and they even have fingerless gloves you can wear to protect your hands from the UV lights. I wanted to do 2 stars, but I'll do 3 because I was happy with my gel builder manicure with the gentleman who did my nails. He listened to my request not to cut my cuticles too much (I tend to bleed easily) and he was efficient with his time. My reason for 3 stars is the woman who did my gel pedicure. I only came to this place bc it was a last minute emergency since my salon must've ghosted their clients and shut down without notice. I was about to leave out of town for my bday so I needed a place fast. The moment I sat down for my pedicure I had a feeling it wouldn't be a great experience. The technicians energy was extremely nervous off the rip. I thought to myself this must be a new hire. Nothing wrong with new hires, however; she seemed like she just graduated nail school. She took around 30-40 mins to simply remove the gel from my toes. NO JOKE! I was instantly annoyed but wanted to give her grace bc I'm an esthetician and I've been a trainee before so I prayed for decent work. Once she finally finished she proceeded to clean my feet but had me submerge my feet into cold water (huh???). Then she didn't even clean under my nails properly. I showed her that I could see dead skin and cleaned it out myself. She gave an excuse about the tool being sharp and not wanting to hurt me but I explained to her she needed to use the tool differently to avoid doing so. She seemed defensive and unreceptive. Everything she did she was nervously shaking and that made me nervous. Finally she finished w/ the painting part and said she would do a quick "massage" that was laughable. Used so much lotion and literally smeared it around in circles on my shins. My skin couldn't even absorb the amount of lotion she was using. Then she wiped it all off with a hot towel (what a waste). Oddly enough my feet looked OK so I ignored the experience and tipped her anyway. Once I got home I noticed she had forgotten the top coat on my big toe and now it appeared as though I had one matte nail and the rest shiny. I had to go buy top coat from CVS to make it look uniform. I'd come back bc the shop is nice, a lot of colors, they offer free drinks if you're paying a certain amount for a service and it's clean-- but next time I would be very specific not to get her again and also make sure my tech has experience that matches the price. read more

I rarely leave 1star reviews, but this experience was disappointing from the very beginning. My appointment was canceled only 30 minutes before my scheduled time because I was told the Gel-X nail technician wasn't coming in that day. I understand that emergencies happen, but if your salon opens in the morning and you know a technician won't be available, customers should be notified as soon as possible not half an hour before their appointment. By then, it's too late to book another salon, and you've wasted your customer's time. The booking process was frustrating from the start. When I called to make an appointment, I was told everything had to be done through the app they wouldn't schedule over the phone. The app is confusing and poorly designed. None of the technicians are identified by name/speciality; they're simply labeled "Nail Tech 1, 2, 3..." If a technician isn't available, the app doesn't explain why or show availability clearly. Instead, you're left guessing different dates and times until something works. What makes this even more frustrating is that customers are charged a $30 cancellation fee if they cancel, yet when the salon cancels at the last minute, there is no consideration or compensation for the customer's lost time. This would have been my first visit, but after this experience, I won't be attempting to book with this salon again. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this one was poor. It's extremely rare that I write negative reviews, but I am really disappointed in my experience at Lamay. My nail artist was aggressive, telling me to relax my hands about 20 times (this is not an exaggeration) throughout my appointment without any sense of wanting to make me feel more at ease. She wasn't friendly, so it made it hard to relax since I was stressed the whole time. For over an hour I felt uneasy and have never once felt like that at a nail appointment before. I don't expect a lot from nail artists to act super friendly or anything, but this was pretty bad that I felt compelled to share. I got gems on 4 fingers, all of which fell off after a week or less. I will say, I was happy with how the nails turned out right after - it was done nicely and with attention to detail. My artist was precise - my review is more so reflecting on my personal experience. Made an online reservation a day before and it was super easy. My nail technician for mani was Sarah who did an amazing job for me!! I had inspo pics and wanted to add a Leo homage for my husband on my nails. She got the constellation for Leo and added little gems. This was my first time ever getting Gel X (or any kind of extensions) done and I had such a wonderful experience. Min did my pedi (I just got the same cat eye done on hands on my toes) and Min was super funny and bubbly, I really appreciated that because I am so self conscious of my feet. I've always worked in restaurants so I never really gave myself a lot of nail attention :') so they were a little rough lmao. She was incredibly meticulous so my nails lasted a very long time. I truly appreciated that she took her time making my nails look perfect once I told her that it was a bridal set. My only complaint was that they were behind schedule so I had to wait over an hour after my appointment time to be seated--I would've preferred to be told in advance so I could come in later instead of waiting in the salon. What an absolutely abysmal experience from start to finish. I was excited to get my nails done here since I saw their nail art skills online. The nail tech was not experienced enough to even remove gel and file my nails properly. When she glued on a gel X tip on a broken nail I voiced concern because it looked crooked, in response she lovingly began saying negative things about me in another language (surprise surprise, I understood every word) to her coworker about how I was saying it's crooked. I want to start by saying Melissa was one of the techs I had the immense pleasure of meeting and interacting with. Làmay Nails in Burbank absolutely has exceptionally talented technicians and artists -- no doubt about that. The salon offers an incredible variety of beautiful colors and designs, and they are clearly capable of bringing creative visions to life. Unfortunately, the negative part of my experience had to do with the level of customer service I personally received. Since it was my first time booking, I called ahead with a few questions to make sure I correctly scheduled multiple people with different services and designs out of respect for everyone's time. The person I spoke with on the phone came across as defensive and rather hostile, which immediately made me feel uncomfortable for simply asking questions. When I arrived for my 4:30 appointment (I walked in around 4:32 due to parking farther away), I had received a text confirming my ETA and let them know I was there. However, upon checking in, I was told, "I'll let you know when someone is available for your service," which honestly left me confused because I had specifically scheduled services for two people at 4:30. Forty-five minutes later, I still had not been assigned a technician, while several walk-ins who arrived after me were already being helped. I genuinely tried to remain patient and understanding, but I couldn't help feeling hurt and overlooked by that experience. To add to that, despite the salon priding itself on guest service, no one offered even a small gesture of hospitality such as water while we waited that long. At the same time, my 15-year-old was being serviced by Chunn. I will say she is incredibly talented at what she does -- possibly one of the most skilled nail techs I've seen from a technical standpoint. However, her demeanor and overall manner toward my daughter were very disappointing. This was my girl's very first manicure set as part of her birthday celebration, and while the nails themselves came out beautiful, the experience emotionally fell short. The way she spoke to her, shuffled her arms around, and interacted overall felt cold and dismissive. We remained polite the entire time, but it honestly made us feel uncomfortable and distant. Again, Melissa was the complete opposite -- sweet, attentive, and genuinely welcoming -- and I'm grateful we encountered at least one person who made us feel seen and cared for. Overall, the artistry here is undeniable, but customer service and kindness matter just as much as talent. I truly hope management takes experiences like this into consideration because the environment and interactions can deeply impact how memorable a visit becomes -- especially for first-time clients and young guests celebrating special moments. As verification that I was in fact a real client I've attached my receipt for services. And individually tipped via Zelle as merit. Also, as a side note, I thought it was worth mentioning because it was the first time I've personally encountered this -- my daughter had regular blue nail polish on both her hands and feet that she had done herself at home. We were charged for "regular gel removal" twice ($5.03 x2). She did a great job following my art inspo and checked in multiple times to see what I thought about the colors and shape. I really want to love Lamay Nails in Burbank because this salon has so much potential. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the space. The salon is beautiful, clean, and has an impressive selection of polish colors. I decided to try this location after a friend recommended Lamay (she goes to one of their other locations). I've been to the Burbank location three times now, and unfortunately my experiences have been inconsistent. My first visit was fantastic. I got builder gel, the service was great, and my nails lasted a long time. My second visit was good, but it didn't quite live up to my first experience. Because of that, I wanted to book with the same nail tech for my third appointment. The online booking system only lets you select two technicians by name, while everyone else is listed as "Tech 1," "Tech 2," etc. I called the salon, and the person who answered told me she could book me with the technician I requested. I gave her the technician's name, so I expected to see that person when I arrived. Instead, I was assigned to someone completely different without any notice. I would have appreciated being told that my requested technician wasn't available because I would have happily scheduled for another day. To be fair, the technician I ended up with was very kind and friendly, and my nails looked great when I left. Unfortunately, exactly one week later, two of my nails chipped. It seems the builder gel wasn't applied thick enough to properly support my natural nails, so now not only has the polish chipped, but my natural nails are breaking as well. I've been getting builder gel for quite a while, and I've never had this happen this soon before, especially after only a week. Considering the price, I expected much better durability. read more

Im not one to write negative reviews because I don't like to complain or slander anyone's image but my recent visit left me pretty upset. I have been here twice and the quality of service is inconsistent. I was there last week for a pedicure and manicure. My main concerns for this review is with the manicure. My nail tech was Russian but I don't remember her name. I got my nails done on 3/3 and two nails popped off on 3/10. I am not that rough with my hands so I know this should not be happening so soon. I explicitly asked the receptionist and put it in my notes on the appointment for builder gel to make it stronger and even paid an extra $5 for the color I picked. To my surprise, my nail was turning green under the polish and now I believe other nails are doing the same. Not to mention, my nails feel extremely weak and sore which I've worked so hard on to avoid. There were other red flags during the manicure that I ignored. The nail tech cut my nails super short and selected the shape for me. She had asked me if I wanted to cut them which I said yes to and proceeded to cut most of my nail off which I didn't plan on doing. Not once was I asked what shape and length I wanted. I came in with almond shaped nails and left with what seemed like short square nails. This has never happened to me before but I let it go because there was a huge language barrier. I ended up filing my nails more once I got home because the shape was very inconsistent. I wish I had a picture of that but I disregarded it. The polish itself could have been a lot neater as well. I paid $70 for the manicure alone and now a week later, I have to spend even more to get this fixed. Be cautious of who does your nails. read more

The service is good, but the reception team could use a bit more training and organization. Whenever I call over the phone, there is so much noise in the background that it's very hard to hear the receptionist clearly. This was my second time visiting, and when I arrived, the staff seemed a little lost and unsure of what I was there for.
