We had such a great experience at On The Patio for dinner this evening! The service was fantastic,…read morefriendly, attentive, and quick. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere made it such a fun place to eat. Lots of TVs playing different sporting events and the burning fireplace made it so cozy on a cold winter evening! We tried the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, the mac and cheese, and a burger with onion rings everything came out hot, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. To top it off, we couldn't resist the funnel fries with chocolate sauce... such a tasty sweet treat to end the meal! Highly recommend!

It has a much more sports bar feel that before. Lots of TVs. Staff is friendly and efficient. As a few others have noted, it can be a bit loud so if you are looking for a cozy spot to whisper sweet nothings to each other, this might not be your first choice. What made me take another look after so long was their advertised special of butter chicken a couple of nights a week. I really enjoy Indian food and there just isn't any that would be considered "nearby" to Azle. So, I took a chance. Happy to say that I have been back several times. With so many Mexican eateries around here, it's nice to see a place branching out!

So let me start right off by saying that lakeside grills like The Anchor are in their own category…read moreand I don't directly compare them to more landlocked establishments. You come here for a specific vibe and that vibe does not conform to typical restaurant standards. So do with that information, what you may. The ambiance is probably the best of any lakeside establishment I have been to so far, garage doors open the dining room up to fresh air and sun. The only downside is that the marina building block most of the beautiful view. The menu was full was creative names that make you giggle as you read them. We started the fried floaters (fried pickles) and fried ritos (fried burritos) to start. Both were good the fried Rito's were reminiscent of all famous burrito, although not quite that good still delicious although they were quite large. I was expecting something that looked more like an egg roll and these were full-size burritos so keep that in mind before ordering. For my main course, I had the Tom's classic burger, was a little disappointed as it was less flavorful and a little bit drier than I expected it to be. The fries and everything else were great. We skipped dessert this time. The staff were all very polite and professional, overall I liked this place I probably won't go back just because of the distance. I gave it four stars because of the burger quality. Also FYI, like many lakeside grills, they still allow smoking at this particular establishment so be aware, in case that's something that bothers you.

I started coming here in May after they first opened with Beth as the chef and her crew. And let me…read moretell you, the food was notably amazing. I made it a point to come here several times a week. There were several things on the menu with unique flavors and just overall great quality. Homemade peach habanero marmalade, a chicken sandwich with fried green apples, and their burgers... man, so good. Long story short, some crap happened and Beth and her crew are out. The kitchen closed for a week and we came back to a new chef, new crew, and new menu. Multiple things have been raised in price and the quality overall has went down immensely. They removed the unique and flavorful chicken sandwich and replaced it with one that lacks interesting flavor, and even worse... came dry. You have to ask for any kind of sauce to be added to this. My boyfriend got the peach habanero wings... his staple for the last two months (we live in the park so we are here multiple times a week... well used to be, because the food WAS that good). Anyways, his wings were so sad. Poor excuse for a wing. No skin, no crispness, barely any meat, and nearly dry. They used to come drenched in homemade sauce and it was so damn good. I can honestly say we probably won't be making it a point to come back for the food. The bar was set pretty high and honestly they didn't even come close to touching the quality and tastiness of the food before. Several things were wrong with our order tonight and I guess that's to be expected considering it's an entirely new staff, but the place was not busy at all and considering the bomb ass experiences we had before, it's such a let down. Not to mention the unpleasant experience we had with a waitress the night before for just some drinks- when she brought us a bucket of a beer we didn't ask for and got rude and snippy with us for the rest of the night because we corrected her and told her we wouldn't drink it. This is a waitress we had never had before and it honestly killed the vibe and even furthered our reason for finding a new hangout- even with the inconvenience of outside of the park.

Other than people drinking needing to soak up some alcohol, I'm not 100% sure what keeps them in business. The staff were nice and the food came out reasonably fast so, maybe it's the convenience.
