We had a surly greeting at the door of "I'll be with you in a minute" which turned into about 15 minutes as the hostess was running around from table to table taking drink orders and filling them. We finally got seated in a booth. The hostess did handle our drink order fairly quickly. I thought she was going to be our server. Menus finally showed up about 10 minutes later. Another 10 minutes and I told the hostess we were ready to order. Turns out she wasn't our server. Our server finally took our order and our food did show up in a timely fashion. The food was "okay" but nothing special. And you guessed it, another wait for the check. Sigh. About the only redeeming feature of this place is that there's no additional charge for using a credit card. If you're in a hurry, go elsewhere. On second thought, just go somewhere else. read more

Stopped by during my visit in NC AND Lynn's did not disappoint! I was skeptical for such a good review in a small town, but the food was great. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken which was over baked and hot out the over when served! I enjoyed that the teriyaki sauce didn't taste like one of those salty bottled sauces just glazed onto the chicken. Now the macaroni and potato salad are both made in house and I had to try them both! I don't know which one was better because they were both delicious. As for the corn nuggets, you can never go wrong with! Service was quick and efficient, food came out after about a 20 minute wait, but that's given we were a large party of about 18 and the plates came out one by one as the kitchen prepared them, so can't complain on the freshness! Lynn's is a decent size restaurant, it has its small town charm, and overall just that feeling of a mom and pops place! So, let me lead with the positive, the staff are lovely and they hustle. It's one of very few games in town for dinner, so we had to make do. While the prices are very reasonable and it's clear it's a staple of the community (which I love to see.), the options are limited and it's lean on healthy choices. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much a huge fan of meat... I'd wither away on the vine with a vegan diet.... But I'd like to have preparation options other than fried. For the week we were there, I was able to get local trout once, that wasn't fried, and another night I opted for tuna and egg salad combo on a "bed of lettuce " which turned out to be a few leaves of lettuce. Dinner for 2. We both started with side salads. They were absolutely excellent fresh cold I had not had one better. In fact mine was so good, I ate a second side salad. Also I forgot to add they have Coke products, thank goodness. My friend orders a seafood platter. The food and service were egood but hubby got the prime rib that was just ok. It was tuff and had been grilled. When they set it down I said that looks more like a ribeye than Prime Rib. If you are going to serve prime rib I suggest slow cooking it like you are supposed for and not grilling it. We will go back but probably wont order the prime rib again read more

First time visiting this place in Robbinsville NC. We stopped in for lunch on our way to the skyway. I'd say that Lynn's place is a solid 4.5 stars, but lean towards 5 due to just how clean it was. She ordered a burger with a side of okra and corn nuggets, and I got the chicken philly special with home fries. Let me start by saying I have never had a chicken philly and I probably wouldn't order it again unless it was the special of the day. After a long wait of not seeing anything coming out of the kitchen our food arrived. Hers was lukewarm and the fries were cold. Mine was piping hot and my home fries were french fries. She didn't get her corn nuggets that were ordered either. So we waited another 20 minutes or so for them. At least they were piping hot. It was good, we'd try it again! read more

Lynn's Place is definitely a stop you'll want to make if ever in the Robbinsville Area. My husband and I had lunch there today with several friends. The service was excellent and attentive. I had a BLT with macaroni salad and it was wonderful! My husband had a Philly steak sandwich and the corn nuggets which made his day since he loves corn. He said he's Philly was great also. Maybe it is due to supply chain shortages, but the prices we paid for the amount of food we got was not great. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Diet Coke ($13.75 before tip) and my wife had a twice baked potato and a side salad. The total bill with tip was over $30. That is a lot for needing a snack an hour later. Also, the menu is much more limited than the website menu we looked at before going. And the prices were a decent amount higher than the website. One of the best "hidden gems" you'll find anywhere. Trust me the locals. If you find locals packing out places, USE THE HINT! This spot has been almost as guaranteed a hit as the Black Knights are to win another football State Championship. (Go check the signs, clocks, etc!). That should tell ya something. They are a local institution! Like most many local places in many small towns, it may be an older building, but don't let that fool you, it is by no means a "dive" or a suggestion of what is "inside". Severe disappointment. I ordered a seafood special and explained that I was having ongoing dental visits, that I needed lightly fried food, not dark, not hard as a rock. I stated that if you can not get that done then I will need to change my order. She said no problem. I was told that the meal was $18.00. Ok. She returned with a roll and I asked for more butter. Then the meal came out fried dark brown and hard as a rock. You might have cracked a windshield with the hush puppies. The shrimp was indistinguishable from the crust on them. I was told that the cook did as well as he could do -- because he puts the seafood in a fryer while it is still frozen solid. I got no extra butter, no tea refill and the bill was $24.00. The money was not really important to me but being told one thing and learning something completely different was disheartening especially after my meal was all but inedible even for those not going to the dentist. I should know better than to order seafood in the mountains -- I just did not guess that a customer request is not really something that was considered even after I shared my ongoing dental visits being a problem for me. I come from a restaurant family and these days it is really better to eat at home, save 50% and get what you want. Lynn's is permanently off my list and I warn you all, you do not what you ask for nor do you get what you pay for. This is the first time in my life that I have not left a tip. We were in Robbinsville for the week and decided to hit Lynn's for lunch after checking the reviews. Also, my name is Lynn so I just really felt the need to check it out! Pulling in to the parking lot, it was obvious something good was going on as there is plenty of parking but only a couple of spots left. It's not a fancy place but we're not fancy people so that worked for us! They had a bbq chicken special but I really wanted a burger so that's what I got. 3 in our party went with the special and said it was wonderful. Any place that offers a salad bar should not remotely be mentioned as a greasy spoon... but it was. I guess that tells you that there are many options. After looking the menu over, I wanted something more than a salad bar, but I couldn't bare the thought of passing up the salad bar opportunity. So, I made a one trip around the salad bar and an appetizer. The waitress was occupied with a group, who arrived after us. I finished my salad and waited awhile before heading up in search to order my appetizer and request a soda refill. This place is a basic greasy spoon. It appears to be family owned and operated and of course it is not a chain which is always a plus. The food was what I would expect from a greasy spoon type diner. It's wasn't fantastic but it was fine for a basic breakfast. Service was excellent, the staff was extremely nice. My meal was about $7 which included a 2 egg breakfast with bacon, hash browns and toast plus hot tea. I feel like the bad reviews of this place are a bit harsh. It's a small town diner and I don't feel like it pretends to be anything else. If I were to give this place a critique: I'm not sure what I would do to make this place better, but somehow it was lacking a little bit.
