The space itself is beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly. She was sweet and had been doing such a great job on my pedicure (minus me knowing she cut me slightly and her continuing like it didn't happen lol) that it made me want to add on a regular manicure.... And that's where it went left. I paid an extra 20$ on my service for a "mani" just for them to stick my hands in a bowl of COLD water for 30 seconds as I still sat in the pedicure chair, not even have the courtesy to move to both sides to reach my hands but have me twist and lean for them lol, and proceed to give me the most rushed low quality manicure. She spent all of 5 minutes servicing me before she walked away to start someone else and handed me off to a random man to do my polish who asked that I pay before he finish. Very disappointing considering how expensive services are these days in general. The best part, it's in the jewel parking lot on Foster and Pulaski. Plenty of parking so you don't have to leave extra early to get a spot. I was afraid of getting dipped nails. First, I'll start by saying I would normally come here when it was under the previous management & see bobo. I had the misfortune of trying it out since it's reopen and it's definitely not worthwhile. There was a young lady who was sitting at front desk, distracted by her phone- it took another employee to point out that she had someone standing RIGHT in front of her. She seemed unenthusiastic to have to attend to a customer. Then, a young man came over to help me, again looking unpleasant. The service was mediocre & the aesthetic of the salon appears lifeless. I decided to check this place out hoping that there would be a minimal wait as opposed to my regular salon that's always packed. Went in around 5:30pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait- in fact, I was the only one in there for two hours until they closed. So I guess I got what I wanted in that regard. I was told that they didn't have regular nail polish for a pedicure and that all they had was no chip. I thought that was odd & can't imagine that's actually true? I ended up getting a no-chip mani and pedi, it cost about $102 not including a tip. Insanely expensive! The place inside was just ok, but I did feel like it wasn't the cleanest place as I saw how they cleaned my used tools. The biggest disappointment was that my no-chip mani began to chip 2 days later on Friday. It's now Tuesday, 6 days since I've gone, and I have 4 different fingers where the polish has chipped off. I won't be going back here unfortunately. read more

I went in, asking for dip for the first time. I specifically asked weeks before if they could do dip without the UV light and they said yes. When I went yesterday to get my nails done, the male technician started by removing the top layer of my nail. I feel very violated by this as it is unhealthy and I was not warned this was going to happen. He said it was necessary for dip although my friends have said they have gotten dip elsewhere and not had that problem. Then he told me I needed to put my hands in the LED light, which also has UV rays. I asked if I could do it just one time but he made me do it every time he applied a coat. Again, friends have told me they have not needed to use a light with dip-- that is the entire reason I asked for this specific process. Now, I got the light exposure. I did not want and the top layer of my nail is now removed entirely. Lastly, the colors I chose were a bit too translucent, and I am dissatisfied that it does not look like the pictures I showed when I first went in. My nails look OK to others, but they are not what I asked for and the process was the exact opposite of what I asked for. Highly do not recommend. read more

I've returned to this salon a few times now on a Wednesday and I must say Wednesdays around 3pm are the perfect time for a walk in, although they do take appointments. I got a no-chip manicure twice now by Cindy and she is awesome. I chose to do a white no chip manicure which I know is a hassle, but she was so patient and did as many coats and cures as necessary for it to not be streaky. Giving a 1 star because they were nice people. Not sure how they are for other services but they don't know hot to do dip nails. By far the worst experience ever. My nails look horrible. I selected a mint color for my nails and they are gray. The color from the nail sample did not match the dip powder what so ever. They are not experienced with dip. Some nails are more see through than others. The owner (I think she was the owner) knew I was upset about the color not matching the color I selected and I pointed out many things that I disliked about my nails overall and she told me to come back the next day and she'd redo them but honestly I didn't go back. I didn't want to waste more time going back to possibly still not like them. Might as well deal with it and not go back ever again. Hurt my soul to pay and tip for these nails. read more

This place has undergone new management and while I was not crazy about the customer service from the former management, this one is not any better and, if anything, it is a bit worse. I second the other reviewer about the ladies who work there talking about their customers in their language..You do not have to be a neuroscientist to pick up on the fact that they are talking about you. I went with my young daughter and on separate occasions the one working on her called on another one and with her eyes pointed to my daughter's legs etc (my daughter is a bit hairy despite her young age)all the while speaking their language...I have been there twice and the first time, a customer told them it is very rude to speak another language in front of customers. I was very close to doing the same but decided to let it go...after this time, I would not be returning...but that is the thing, these women instead of focusing on YOU..are chit-chatting amongst themselves as they work on you and having a conversation with each other in their own language. In one of those "conversations" the woman doing my pedicure...clipped off more than she should on my toenail...(it HURTED). I told her so. They also use scalding hot towels on your feet/hands..not even asking if the temperature is okay. To boot, my manicurist had the audacity to tell me that the colors/style I had chosen were not pretty or common (I had asked for alternating colors based on a pix I had seen on Pinterest) and that I should just stick to one solid color...and commenting on how bad my cuticles were and I should go more often... (I work and go to school and have a family to raise...getting a manicure is not on my priority list and see it more as an occasional treat than an expense to dish out on every 2 weeks) but WOW...unsolicited opinions AND getting critiqued? No..Thank YOU... They are also very greedy.. after I realized what a bad job she had done by being distracted, I decided to tip a lessor amount, when they asked how much I wanted to tip and I said the amount, they immediately started talking in their language...that is NOT cool... and definitely NOT professional... One of the reasons I came here was because of the ample parking but honestly, it is not even worth it. The nail tech I believe her name is Maya did not fully paint my nails and looking at my nails some are VERY uneven and bulky like ew! I also realized when I got home my right eyebrow has a small chunk missing and my brows are not EVEN as the lady said she would do for me. I have to fill my brows in until they grow back. I expect to leave a nail shop feeling good and not still needing to keep up with certain maintenance of my brows and nails for another 2 weeks! This staff and service here are excellent. Mia goes above and beyond every time I go in for a pedicure. She is really sweet and made me comfortable from the first time I went about 6 months ago. I've gone no where else since. All the employees are pleasant. One thing I love is when they are working on the bottom of my feet my leg is supported by a yoga block which allows me to relax even more. My pedicures last 3 weeks no problem. Mia is also top notch at waxing eyebrows. It's really unfortunate that the business owner does not have their info listed anywhere. I've forgotten their business card behind a few times when wanting to call for an appointment but you can't look up their number anywhere but here now. Horrible they're very nice but I spent $50 on a pedi and a no chip the day of they began to chip. So we called and they told us to come in. I noticed how see through all my other nails were and told them I wanted them redone. My aunt runs her own salon and is a pro so when I showed them to her she told me how them soak them off and redone. I asked and told them over and over and over again it's like I was talking to a stubborn brick wall they literally didn't listen to a word I said.so they said they would do another coat and fix the nail that chipped but refused to redo them they even sent almost every person in the salon to look at my nails and tell me how nice they look nice and see through that's the last time they get my business if I could give 0 stars I would read more

I had a great experience here yesterday. It was my first time, my mom's second. I just got a regular spa pedicure. The lady who worked on me did a great job- super gentle, which I appreciate. I hate when other place jam their tools far under your toenail and get too rough with the cuticle cutter. She did a through job and my feet were as smooth as my baby's. Another lady, whom I'm guessing is the owner, did the art on my toes and I love it! My pedicure was $22 plus $5 for the art. Not too shabby! Clean, friendly neighborhood salon. This had been my go to place for years, until they went under new ownership in August. The old staff were friendly, courteous and much better skilled! Although the place was remodeled and looks nicer now, the women working there now are rude and talk about customers and make snide remarks in their language (easy to tell from their body language and expressions). I have gotten 4 mani/pedis since the new owners took over, and they've always done a poor job. I've tried every new worker and they all seem to rush through pedicures, at times not even bothering to remove excess/dry skin around my toes. I always have to go home and do it myself! Their credit card processing system is glitchy and the staff is sarcastic and rude - demanding I withdraw money from the bank next door at Jewel even though there is an extra fee. They also got rid of the shoulder massage at the end of your mani/pedi, which was always a nice little extra perk. Overall my experience has been so bad that I will be looking for a new place to go.
