If you are interested in buying a used Acura, you certainly should go elsewhere. I went in to help negotiate price on a used two owner MDX, and they wouldn't even budge $0.01 on the car! The Edmund's value was -$10k what they were asking. Completely overpriced and unrealistic asking price. In all human relationships, trust is the coin of the realm.  So goes the saying. Including for a car buying transaction in which sales associate Bob Hampton at Lyle Pearson Acura (208-377-3900 Pearson's main number or Bob's cell 208-695-8103) earned our trust making the entire experience enjoyable.  Yep.  Enjoyable in July 2022 in spite of buyers being in the hot seat given low inventories and increased demand creating vehicle scarcity putting upward pressure on prices and eliminating what once was a lot of room to negotiate. Enjoyable because we were looking for a "unicorn" and thanks to Bob keeping those wants in mind he came up with a very good fit, just eensie shy of unicorn, within a few weeks when we expected we might have to wait well into 2023. And most amazing for me, enjoyable in spite of the fact that my Brooklyn born and raised, Sicilian on both sides husband who always wants to negotiate price, and at no time is that more true than in the purchase of a new car, felt he didn't have to this time...well, except to ask them to throw in an Acura cap. My hubby doesn't negotiate to be difficult. (Although he can be that at home!) He does it because he does his homework for market factors and vehicle specifics in advance of transaction so has a good idea of what he considers best price for all those and and he keeps in mind that "fair price" means the dealer needs to make a certain amount as well. Then he factors in the trade value of whatever vehicle we are surrendering and has in his mind the bottom line "will buy" price. Inevitably I tell him I think his "will buy" number is too low for a dealer to accept but inevitably they always have with enough time at it. Although in times past as two or three car negotiation marathons went on I did get up and leave the room because I was so uncomfortable with multiple offers and counters. The experience at Lyle Pearson required none of that game playing. Their contract price for the vehicle was several hundred dollars lower than the best price my husband thought a dealer would set for the model we were buying given sellers' market and the trade in offer was so close to the number he wanted that he felt he would embarrass himself to quibble a couple of hundred bucks on the total purchase price bottom line. My hubby used to negotiate sales contracts in his job and a good technique is to set the offer price just at that high enough meets low enough sweet spot where the buyer doesn't want to look petty by making a counter.  Which is where he was as buyer yesterday.  In particular since we have had a relationship of trust with the top notch service department of this dealership for eight years in maintaining our just traded in MDX and we will continue to use them for this new one. This is an example of how service and sales are both critical in building customer trust and influencing loyalty behavior. Culture in a business is grown top down and the sales manager at Lyle Pearson Acura, Royce West, played a role too in making this transaction painless. From observing him interacting not only with Bob but with other sales people and their customers in the showroom, he was engaged and focused on doing what his team needed from him to make customers happy and close deals. And that he, the biz manager, Nick, who wrote up the paperwork, and Bob Hampton were such nice men helped too. On a personal level, my NY Yankees fan(atic) husband has such a high opinion of Bob that he doesn't even hold it against him that he once played for the Boston Red Sox. Ta dum. PS - Lyle Pearson automotive group is also dealer for Mercedes (which we had in our second place line up if we needed to wait until later in 2023) and Porsche. Super disappointed in my experience with Lyle Pearson. I purchased a brand new Volvo with 6 miles on it December 26th, today multiple safety lights went on, to be exact all warning lights went on while I was driving. I was extremely nervous driving it. When my husband called they said it was "probably safe to drive and a software update". They said they couldn't get it in until June 20th. Really? We purchased a Volvo for reliability. I wanted a loaner as we spent $70k plus and he had the nerve to tell me "sorry we don't have an unlimited supply of loaner cars" I replied with I'm sorry this didn't work into his schedule with the lights coming on but if we scheduled an appointment he said we couldn't get my car in for 3 more weeks. This is extremely disappointing as we purchased a brand new luxury car in part due to warranty and reliability. Would he have been ok with his wife/family driving a vehicle with all the warning lights on? I will never purchase another vehicle through them again. read more

Acura makes a good car BUT the sales manager (who evaluated trade ins) is not nice, insulting and terrible...I worked with a NICE sales person BOB and then the sales manager swooped in AND was "a joke!" He treated me (a woman) as if I was totally stupid... he gave me a low price for my possible trade in AND then insisted the tires were bad...(Les Schwab 60,000 mile tires with 400 miles on them.). My 2012 Acura MDX broke down about 20 minuted away from the Idaho border in a desert and they got it fixed and running in about two days. They replaced the spark plugs, did a valve adjustment, and changed a timing belt. It also seemed like we got a free car wash for the outside of the car too, the big bugs on the grille were gone. The gas milage is amazing now, it was able to do the 8 hour drive from Idaho to California perfectly. The people were very nice and they did an excellent job. If I ever drive to Idaho again and get a problem I'll definitely come here for anything. read more

The Service Dept is crooked. They had me drive all the way from Middleton Idaho twice to do a free airbag warranty repair only to tell me, after installing the warranty airbag, that for the new airbag to work I would have to purchase an additional $1500 part. By not disclosing this to me in the very beginning they could at least bill Acura for the warranty work in the event that I would not purchase the additional part. They were correct to assume that I would not be purchasing the part due to the age of the car, condition, and high miles but at least they would get the warranty work from Acura. And if I did purchase the part, well then even more money in their coffer! read more

Bob Hampton was very helpful in the process. We bought a 2017 Ford Explorer Platnium and it had a few scratches on the rear bumper and a tear in the back seat. He had people come out and fix those before we took delivery and it looked like brand new. The entire process was so quick I was in and out in 45 minutes. I have never bought a car from a dealership that only took 45 minutes. Very nice not to have to wait around for hours. I would highly recommend Bob Hampton and Lyle Pearson Acura. Kent and tim were great. Our 2010 Acura MDX (84,000 mi) suddenly experienced three bad wheel axle failures at the same time (we shipped our car 3000 miles on a truck on bumpy roads--lots of vibration/pressure on stationary wheels). The humming/grinding sound was horrible. The dealer got us in overnight. Tim's video text of the issues was great. Kent's kind explanation of the parts and process was thorough and straightforward. Kent saved the old parts to explain and show us what the repairs were. Tim/Kent recommended preventive maintenance down the road. Top notch team. We'll be back for regular maintenance. If you ever want any help... DO NOT ASK THESE GUYS!! They said I could borrow a master key for my MDX. I did. I did what they suggested - removed the lug nut off my car. However it stripped. (Due to the fact the master key was made out of peuter it seems. The THEN charged me $26 bucks for a "replacement" which they would have gotten from Headquarters for free anyway. UPDATE!! TRAVIS The manager contacted me shortly after I posted rev to discuss how they fell short. He and his team worked diligently to meet and exceed all my expectations I am again very very thrilled with them at!!! We had a small issue this morning when we dropped our car off. It appeared that the service man may have had a bad morning and it was Expressed to us Via questions that we attempted to ask and we're cut off about and just negativity. I was probably most surprised as we have never had this happen before at Lyle Pearson ! We've been there hundreds of times over the years purchasing Vehicles back to even when my grandfather went there. The service we had last time was amazing very positive and they said if they couldn't fix it they would find someone who could but they would make every effort. Mind you the vehicle we purchased from them is a Ford Explorer and I understand that is not their primary Servicing. I was extremely surprised and very happy when I received a call this morning from a manager in that department asking me what they could do to fix my unhappiness with my review . I explained that just having him call me so quickly to ask would earn them another star LOL ! He said that he would make sure that things were taking care of and I explained I understand people have bad days but I felt like it really spread to my husband and myself ! I have only bought 2 cars since I have come back home to Idaho and both of them were from Lyle Pearson and specifically Michael Baird. I didn't know him prior to buying a car there. In 2007 I fell in love with a used Lexus and had to have it. Michael and the finance person (I can't remember his name but he was nice too) worked out a great deal for me and I had that car for 7 years. I had such a great experience the first time that I bought a used Acura from Michael 4 years ago and it is a great car. Michael texts me once a year to check on me which I think is wonderful customer service! I had texted Michael and let him know I broke my car fob and wanted to know if he could help me with a new one and for how much. He texted me back a while later and said he had one for me; I went down and he programed it for me and I was on my way! Not your typical car salesman. No offense please..I just have had horrible experiences with many hard saleing, pushy and dishonest car salesman but that is not what I got out of Michael. Thanks for the service! read more

I fully agree with Michelle R's review. My last Acura dealer was FlatIrons Acura in Boulder. They serviced my 2000 Acura TL from 2000 until early 2015. Shortly upon moving to Metro Boise, the boost fan for the radiator failed. The local temperatures had been well over 100 degrees for several days. The Acura was pushing about 205,000 miles. So, the fan failure was not a surprise. I contacted Pearson Acura 's service department. Sawyer answered the phone. He had an RDX loaner available. So, I dropped off the TL for service. The TL was ready for pickup about forty-eight hours later. The quality of the service made me feel as if I was still working with the Boulder team. Sawyer and the service team followed through with flying colors! A Great experience. At the start of winter, the TL's battery failed. Sawyer contacted my old dealer to find out if the old battery could be pro-rated against the cost of a new battery. The car was serviced within ninety minutes! Another outstanding service experience. Recently, it became necessary to have a normal oil change service per the schedule. Kent coordinated the service. I arrived first thing in the morning. Again, the TL was ready within ninety minutes. A thorough check up was completed on the TL. We have a short menu for a future service visit. Kent coordinated the service call perfectly. Again, when it came to having excellent Acura service, the move from Colorado to Idaho was transparent! Lyle Pearson Acura is another five star dealer. read more

This is a review for the detailing department. I have a new car (not a Lyle Pearson brand or purchase), and ended up with water spots after it sat in the path of a sprinkler on a hot day. I called my dealer - he had a home remedy idea - which didn't work. I took it to a local detailing franchise - they were very condescending, and offered to "clay" my car (without a guarantee of it being effective) for $100. I did some research online and found that what I really needed was an "acid wash." A friend uses Lyle Pearson to detail his car. I told them my problem. The person who took my call said "you need an acid wash." I brought it in today. They provided free transportation back home while they had my car. Super professional and friendly. Came out of the building to greet me when I returned to pick it up 4 hours later - - and they DID NOT charge me! Refused my money. My car looks great, btw. Went Lyle Pearson for a replacement key for one of my Mercedes. The snarky parts guy said it would be about $280. I said I thought they were $200 and he said "well, that's it $280." I came home disappointed that we have no choice, since there is only one Mercedes dealer in Idaho. I called three other dealers (all in California) and they said it would be $217 including tax! Unfortunately, they will not send a key through the mail and want the car physically there when you pick up the ordered key. What a racket! AVOID Lyle Pearson rip off prices and get your parts on-line and go to dealers out of state for everything else. Get your car fixed at Oscars or German Star - you'll love them both! read more

I was traveling from Utah to Washington state and "check engine" light came on in my Volvo SUV. Stopped at Lyle Pearson to have it checked out. Roger took great care to make sure the vehicle was drive-able. They were honest, fast and efficient and gave me suggested repairs that needed to be made once I arrived home in Spokane. My fiance called the service department because we had just bought an acura mdx out of state and the battery kept dieing and we had already had the battery checked and it was good. The service rep said she needed to do a pre sale vehicle inspection even though we already bought it and they would check everything. I called to setup the appointment later and told them we needed that inspection since that's what they told my fiance. They did inspection and everything checked out on car so I asked why the battery keeps dieing then. The service manager then said the 2007 acura mdx often had a draw from the Bluetooth so they checked it and hat was the issue. I paid $117 for the inspection when they could have checked the battery draw for free from the get go. Now they want another $117 to disable the bluetooth or $400 to replace it. The service manager Travis was nice enough to apologize for the miscommunication but didn't care his employee was the one who told me fiance we needed that inspection when she said our battery kept dieing. Great new car deal, they beat all of the other Acura places (although I did have to walk out twice, but don't you always...). The one complaint I do have, is that they gave my work number to a customer who wanted to ask about the car I had traded in. He called me like 3 times!!! At work! The reason I traded it in was so that didn't have to deal with buyers. Kind of annoying. I didn't think they were allowed to do that. Otherwise good. The salesman calls once a year to check on my car. They always give you a call after service to make sure everything was done to your satisfaction. Love the Acura! read more

We went to Lyle Peason to purchase a used vehicle. They were very friendly and we finished all paperwork after hours. At that time the agreement was that I could bring the car in and have it cleaned at a later date because there was food under the back seat. I brought the car back in and it was not cleaned so then i was told to make an appointment to have the car detailed. So I dropped the car off for most of the day. When I got the car back the food was still underneath the back seat and it appeared to have not been touched or cleaned in any way. So I decided to forget about it. In the meantime, within the first two weeks it was leaking oil all over the driveway. I called and had the service department look at the car and it turned out to need thousands of dollars in repairs for more than one oil leak. When we asked if they would assist us in repairing the car we just purchased they past us along from the sales rep to the assistant manager who told us he consulted with the manager and it was not their problems they would be willing to put $100 toward a $2700 repair bill. It's bad business without saying. We will never give them our business again. And on personal level I am disheartened by not just a company but individual people who choose not to do the right thing. So for the good folks who are looking for a vehicle....beware of this company. I have a feeling we are not the only customers that have experienced bad business, bad behavior and intentionally selling a considerably damaged vehicle. read more
