My husband had been looking for the perfect work truck for quite some time and in my opinion, he is an automobile guru, so being picky about it is far from a bad thing. With the last vehicle purchase experience being not so satisfactory, we were a bit leery about buying from a dealership. We had come across a good deal on the perfect flatbed power-stroke a couple months ago at another "dealership" in Meridian, which is 5 hours away from our home, and decided to make the trek to check it out. It was a smokin' deal, and the truck seemed to be in good condition. On the outside. Once we took her for a spin, my husband opened her up on the highway to see what she had which was nothing. It seemed the turbo had gone completely out, and was obvious she was tired with not much oomph left in her. They sure did make her pretty with all that spray paint though! So after driving back we went inside to talk to the salesman whom I'm assuming was also the manager, and when my husband told him about her issue, we knew that he knew. When driving home the long 5 hours back, we both said we would NEVER go back to the Boise/Meridian area to look at another vehicle. We were put off by the salesman/manager seeming sneaky about the condition of the truck. After a month or two had passed, my husband found another flatbed close to the same year, with less miles and a better price. It seemed too good to be true, and I was afraid of someone letting him down again, but he was stuck on her. So we made the 5 hour excursion down to Boise Auto Clearance. When we arrived my husband immediately sought-out the truck he had seen on their website, and there she was in all her glory. We were promptly met by a sales representative and knew exactly who we were, after had speaking with my husband on the phone. He asked for my husbands drivers license information for the test drive, which I was pleased with since the previous dealership we had been to didn't blink an eye and basically threw the keys at us, and off we went. I could see my husbands excitement the moment he started up the truck, and knew he had already decided. She was a bit dirty and dusty on the inside, but it's a truck, that's how they're supposed to be! After driving the vehicle for about 30 minutes we returned to the dealership to good a real good look at her. I had brought along a car seat to see how it would fit in the back since it wasn't a full size cab. [We're expecting our first in January!] After wrastling with it embarrassingly not knowing what I was doing, the previous gentleman that had helped us when we arrived, and another to speculate, graciously helped us fumble around with it since it was our first car seat experience. Thankfully, it fit like a glove! My husband took a look under the hood and everything looked, smelled, and sounded great. He's a stickler for checking every little nook and cranny, and was great that the gentleman were there to help answer every little question he had. I was also thankful the gentlemen had knowledge about powerstrokes and one of them owned a newer one himself. After poking and prodding and talking about the truck for quite sometime, they let us be to talk amongst ourselves for the final decision. I have full confidence in my husband when it comes to the quality of automobiles, and once he said the word we headed into the office to relay our decision. I can't say enough how smooth and quick the paperwork process was, and everyone was so welcoming, patient, and helpful. To this day my husband still talks about what a great experience buying from Boise Auto Clearance was, and we are eternally grateful for all their help, kindness, and honesty. It's very rare these days to find honest car dealerships and salesmen that don't try to finagle you into buying something that in my opinion, is a big commitment. After the long drive home, we realized the next day we had left the dealership without returning the dealer plate, I felt horrible! Everyone had been so great and helpful and we were so dizzy with excitement we didn't even realize it was still on the back bumper. After a much needed reminder phone call, we immediately sent it back. About a week later, we unexpectedly received something in the mail from them with a very nice letter thanking us for returning the plate, and a small token of their appreciation for the great customer experience. I am surprised and grateful for their thoughtfulness, and will never look elsewhere for a vehicle again! We look forward to doing business with them [most likely in the near future] and any 5 hour drive to purchase a vehicle from Boise Auto Clearance will be well worth it knowing we will be taken care of promptly and respectfully.
