I'd heard of Lyft a couple months ago but that's where that ended. Until today, when I remembered I had a coupon... If you know me well, you know that I am THE coupon queen so Free Ride up to $25? Count me in! It didn't take much to get in either. I downloaded the app(which i noticed i already had but deleted most likely to make space for more photos--iphone), went through the registering process, hit "Request Lyft" and in 3 minutes my driver, Hal, was there! I knew it was him because in the app it shows a picture of who's picking you up, a picture of the vehicle, and well, there's that pink mustache on the vehicle that you can't miss! I didn't do much research prior to hopping into the minivan but I didn't have any "bad feelings" about it. My folks would be soooo proud! ha! Hal was very pleasant with great conversation, and the van was clean. He even had candy and water there for me. Hmmm.. minivan, candy, stranger-- ya, it sounds like the beginning of one of 'those' movies, but I'm thankful this wasn't the tale at all. It was one one of the best "cab" experiences i've had. With the super fast service, mobile app convenience, and professional drivers, Lyft has won me over. And it's only my first time! P.S. I played around with the app and found that Downtown, Midtown, and East are the quickest(2-5 minute wait). Nothing over 9 minutes though. Pretty cool, right. read more

Absolutely the WORST drivers in the city. I didn't even ride in a Lyft, and was nearly hit 3 times leaving a concert in Nashville tonight, all 3 vehicles had a light in the front window saying "Lyft." One driver was even confronted by the traffic cop about being a dipshit, and the driver (who had earbuds in while driving) completely blew off the officer and continued down the street that the officer was trying to close off for purposes of getting several events out of town safely. There is no way I would ever trust my life, or someone I love with any of the drivers I encountered tonight, and I wasn't even in one of the vehicles. I will add that I also saw several Uber drivers, being much more considerate and cautious. I've never used a rideshare, nor do I know how they screen the drivers, but whoever has that job in the Nashville market should be fired. read more

Missed a meeting that cost me thousands of dollars. i set this up way in advance and you still screwed it up. i will never use your company again and I will make sure my company does not use you as well. This review was for a trip to Nashville from Dallas for the NYE celebration in downtown on Broadway. Our airbnb host suggested lyft as a way to get around easily. The other company has been overall great on trips to California, Colorado and New York however a personal endorsement goes a long way. We had some wonderful drivers for the night getting from the Wedgwood neighborhood to downtown and back again. Wait times were short getting into and out of downtown however once we were out of that concentrated area we found ourselves stranded with the app saying no drivers were available. Surge pricing was in effect all night as expected and ranged from 50% to 250%. Because we stayed just south of downtown this didn't have quite the inflationary effect for us. Overall the experience was positive and we were glad to have such enthusiastic people willing to work while we enjoyed ourselves. read more

Much better than most cities. I choose to use Lyft Lux or Premier, as the drivers are required to carry a 4.8 rating or higher (just FYI!). Even though I pay a little more, I don't mind. The drivers are typically kind and willing to chit-chat if you like. Certainly better than a cab! read more

I needed two Lyfts in one day and both rides were perfect! They accommodated my daughter and I after my car broke down and a taxi service left me stranded for 1.5 hours due to "high volume" [nobody wanted to drive to Hermitage!]. Les and Jesse have been my drivers so far and I was pleased with both gentlemen. They took directions through a shortcut(s) I prefer to use! Les even had candy! I am very annoyed with Lyft. I did a "schedule" ride on the app the night before to be picked up at 5:00am. I got a confirmation the the driver would be there. Well 5:00am rolls around on the day my flight leaves. No one. I get on the app and it says that the driver will be there in 25 min (keep in mind, my goal was to get to the airport at 5:30 and I live 30 min from the airport). Anyways, I suck it up and make peace that I won't get there until 6:00. So I'm sitting there on the app watching my Lyft driver driving the opposite direction of my house and get another notification that a different driver will be there in 30min (because our previous driver cancelled). Needless to say, I cancelled the whole thing and I'm driving there on my own and now I'm going to have to pay for parking at the airport which I was trying to avoid. So if you are planning on using the "scheduling" feature on Lyft. Do yourself a favor and don't. You aren't made a priority and people can cancel any minute that they want and you'll miss your flight/appointment. read more

I've used Lyft several times now, mainly to get around Midtown and Downtown Nashville in order to save on parking costs. I live near Belmont, so I'm near downtown which makes the fares inexpensive. The wait to get a car downtown is typically less than the wait to get our car back from valet and is many times cheaper than paying to park. Every time I've used Lyft the drivers have been nice. I've never felt they have taken me out of my way to increase charges. I would highly recommend Lyft to anyone who is visiting Nashville or lives here and wants to have an easy, reliable way to get around town. read more

I'm giving Lyft a poor review simply because I reached out to customer service and was not given a viable answer. I and my two friends ordered a Lyft home from dinner in Nashville to Brentwood. The driver pulled up and was kind however the second the vehicle started moving the whole thing rumbled and vibrated and my friends and I fell silent... The car shook/vibrated loudly the whole ride and there was no way out of it as we hopped right onto the highway towards Brentwood. As he was driving I noticed his steering wheel turned completely to the left as we were going straight. There is no way this vehicle has been inspected in YEARS. I took a photo of the steering wheel inconspicuously and reported the ride as unsafe and asked for a refund. A Lyft representative had the nerve to email me that my friends and I should have exited the vehicle and called another one (ON THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY 65). I will no longer use Lyft and my father's company has switched to Uber thanks to my poor customer service experience and unsafe vehicle they did not seem to care about. Just a heads up for people who have other ride share options, I would choose Uber over Lyft. read more

I just recently started using Lyft to and from the airport. In comparison to the local taxis and having to deal with language barrier and unreliable and expensive car service, Lyft, in my opinion is way better and definitely cheaper at just $9 on half off weeks. Will NEVER use Lyft again!!!! Tried the service 1 time in July & the driver claimed he's been driving with Lyft for a year. But, he didn't recognize the stadium that's been there for years!! Really?!! Then, last week, we noticed Lyft charges on our bank account. Went to the bank & found out they've been fraudulently charging us for rides we never had. There's been over $400 taken from us in a 5 day period!! Our bank is awesome & is getting the fraud department on it. But, when we tried to contact Lyft, we couldn't find a phone number & could only email them!!! So far, no response from Lyft & our bank is in the process of helping us file charges. I lost my wallet while riding in a car in L.A on a Saturday on my way to the airport . I contacted my driver and he returned my wallet the next day--great. The trouble was getting my wallet back from the L.A. hub at 662 S Santa Fe Ave, as I don't live in California. I reached out to the customer service on the Saturday to let them know to expect it. I let them know that I need it sent to me ASAP. When the driver returned it, they texted me to let me know that it arrived. Great, I respond via text, because they have no phone number at the location. Please send it to address ASAP. For 7 days, I have yet received a status of my wallet, a tracking number or anything! It's just sitting in a locker and no one can call me to let me know anything. I've texted, emailed, phone called their customer service, and the communication at Lyft is horrible. I've had to reexplain my case every time I've called!! There is no supervisor I can hold accountable. Communicating to the L.A. hub goes like this: I have to submit a report online or through my app to get a phone call from their customer service team. I chat with the customer service team, who sends a text or email to their lost and found team. The lost and found team contacts the hub--again only through text or email. FOR SEVEN DAYS the hub has not returned a text or email from the lost and found team. How can Lyft pride themselves on customer service when they have the most inefficient system of communicating? They refuse to disclose the phone numbers of the corporate office, lost and found centers or local hubs. NO ONE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!! I will never use Lyft again. read more

Great experience. Push a button on your phone and a car shows up within minutes. All payments are done via the app. Great drivers who are happy to see you and take you where you need to go. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to get a car. According to the map on their site, the hot areas are downtown, East Nashville, Midtown, and 12 South. If you're in these areas, you'll likely get a car much more quickly. read more

Do not use. The driver Michael, told my daughter that his gps app that showed the route and calculated payment was "down". She told him how to get to our house and he asked her to pay him cash. I used the service the night before with a different driver from the same location and was charged $20. A cab gave my daughter a quote of $35. My daughter agreed to pay Michael $40 in order to add in a tip for him. The next morning we had a notification on her phone that said she was also being charged $80 to her cc. We contacted the Lyft through the only phone # they provide and the person refused to give us a customer service phone #. Instead we were told to send an email. We did that and explained everything. Two days and NO reply from Lyft .... and they automatically charged us $80 without even making any attempt to contact us. We are disputing the charges via the cc company.
