I scheduled a ride 40 minutes ahead of time. I had work by 4pm. A woman accepted my ride, and was in the Walmart parking lot for 20 minutes. There was no way for me to change my driver and she completely wasted my time. I reached out to her within the app and said "hey is everything ok?" And she canceled my ride.. 20 minutes she was just in the same spot at Walmart probably shopping.. like what? Why would you accept my ride and mess up what I have going on? That's so selfish! This past Saturday morning I reserved a Luxury Lyft for 6:15 pm that evening to attend a black tie event (cost, $65.10). I received confirmation with a pick up time between 6:15 and 6:20. At 6:20 I found out that my original driver had dumped me and the new one would be arriving "in 30 minutes". We had to be there at 7:00 to greet our guests and his arrival time, at best, would have us at our destination 30 minutes late. First, normally I would never write a bad review on anyone because that isn't me. i had a horrible experience with Lyft. This was the first time using them and the first drive was perfect. The driver was great. So now the negative. My 15 year old daughter and I went to a concert at Nissan Stadium and I had already scheduled a Lyft ride back to our hotel. I had my card attached along with Lyft cash I had purchased for the rides to and from the event. About 30 minutes before the concert was over they cancelled my ride. So I rescheduled and it said confirmed and they canceled it and did it a third time. They said it had something to do with my card but that was the same card I used all day and night along with the Lyft cash for the ride. So with my ride cancelled right before the event was over I had to scramble and find a ride for us to get back to the hotel. So I scheduled an Uber but the guy got stuck in traffic and wasn't going to be there for a long time. So there I was going to be stuck in downtown Nashville alone with my 15 year old daughter. Well thankfully there was someone with Uber driving around to see if anyone needed an Uber ride. So he took us back to the hotel and had me scan his uber information and said if we needed a ride for the 2nd day event to let him know and he knew where to wait and the time to be there. So a huge thank you to Uber they are wonderful. But Lyft was horrible other than the first ride there. It is sad that Lyft was going to leave a mother and a 15 year old stranded in downtown Nashville. This has nothing to do with any of the drivers because they are all probably great. I have a problem with the business itself. So everyone here is my bad review. I warn everyone to be careful when you schedule with Lyft because you might get stranded in a place you have never been with your child. I was so excited to be leaving Hopkinsville, KY to fly to Pennsylvania, PA International Airport for my third grandson's first birthday. Early on Thursday morning, I called my bank to verify that the Lyft charge had been debited from my account. It was and I had already packed to go. I received a text from Lyft to confirm my driver was arriving within the scheduled time that Friday. I waited outside ready to go to BNA in Nashville, TN. Then I received two texts to communicate to me that a Lyft ride wasn't available. I was almost in tears but, decided to quickly return to my apartment to shed a few. This is a review of one Lyft driver and the Lost/Found division of Lyft. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, I requested a multi-stop Lyft ride from my office, to the bank, and then home. I informed the driver this was a multi-stop ride. When I arrived to the bank to drop off some forms, the Lyft driver left while I was inside the bank. That did not disturb me. Lyft Nashville is so different than taking Lyft in Chicago. Well generally the concept is the same but it's impossible to get a ride these days in the Chi. Cars are few and far between compared to 6 months ago. Not the case in Nashville AT ALL! Every time we requested a Lyft, there were several drivers available and our ride was there within a couple minutes. Every Lyft driver we had was friendly, some more knowledgeable about the area than others, but we made pleasant conversation with all. We had one get insanely lost with her GPS leading to wrong turn after wrong turn. Even she was very nice though and stopped our ride while trying to find our way back. The drivers all had their mustaches up and were all about the fist bumping. I'm a big Lyft advocate as it's way cheaper than taxis, usually cleaner cars & friendly drivers plus if it saves you from drinking & driving, it's always the right choice. read more

Lyft changed my life. OK, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but damn. It's so easy and amazing. Just download the app, set up your account, request a Lyft, and bam, they are on their way. It's a billion times better than a cab! I have a strong aversion to nights out in East Nashville due to the fact that taxis are few and far between (even at 5 Points) and once you get there it's SO difficult to get out. But luckily, Lyft has changed that for me. Easy pick up, easy drop off. I'm in love!! I've found the Lyft drivers are more friendly and outgoing than Uber, I've had some recent nights out where Uber drivers were 15-20 minutes away where Lyft was right there, ready to pick us up. It also seems that Lyft drivers are a bit more laid back due to it being a side gig for them to make a few extra bucks. I think Uber is more professional drivers. After spending about a week in downtown Nashville, I can honestly say that I was impressed with the Lyft services in this area. After 20+ rides during my stay, I only had minor issues with one of the drivers. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a driver and when it was prime time and all of the available drivers were busy, one would become available in under 3 minutes. I was extremely impressed with the amount of drivers there seemed to be compared to Uber. The prices were pretty cheap. The drivers were pretty friendly and very knowledgable about the sights to see and what areas to check out for food and drinks. Many of the drivers also offered snacks and water and tried to make the ride as comfortable as possible. Even though the concept of Lyft goes against what I was taught as a child, i.e. don't get into cars or take things from strangers, I would recommend using their services in Nashville for safe, reliable, and cheap transportation. read more

Very impressed with Nashville Lyft. The Detroit one is new and hit or miss, so we decided to try it out while in Nashville for YSB (the two $25 credits we each had from Detroit helped too!). IMHO the cars are not as nice as Uber's, but the drivers were all very friendly. We had no issues with any of the cars or the drivers. The pink fuzzy mustache is always fun and so is the fist bumping. I will say that Lyft Detroit has more amenities (the drivers seemed to have water or other treats for us) but that could be because it's new. I have just become aware that a lyft driver did not complete the services requested by a woman. She had a toddler , car seat, and luggage. The driver refused to drive to the address paid for, and instead forced the woman and child out if the ride in the middle of the night in the dark 3 blocks from daid destination. Brief description of what happened: The ride started and stopped within minutes and I was 0. 5mi into my trip. I was presented with a screen on the app Lyft that the ride had completed and the option to tip the driver. Both the driver and I was confused as to what exactly happened. The driver was panicking and asked me what to do. It was hard to understand him as he had a strong accent and his English was not good. The driver was driving around wondering what to do and then advised that Lyft had sent him another passenger and he proceed on to picking them up in the opposite direction of where I was headed. He said he'll deal with my issue after he drops his next customers off, a couple. I contacted Lyft customer support in the meantime (see chat screenshots) and advised the agent (Patrick) of the urgency of the situation given that it was raining, dark and I had just flown in from the west coast and am not familiar with the city. The agent first of all got my name wrong "Jonathan". I was willing to work with him via chat but he ultimately advised "I need to hand this case over to a team that specializes on these kind of concerns. Hang tight as they'll reach out to you via email shortly." and the issue/chat was closed. After the driver dropped off his passengers, he turned off Lyft service and took me to my hotel with a cash price of $25. He got lost and overall the trip took much longer than expected with arrival time ~8:05pm, 40 minutes longer estimated time of arrival. Issues: 1. Lack of sense of urgency, negligence, lack of customer care of Lyft via agent (Patrick) response to an urgent issue, no apology, lack of acknowledgment, and resolution of an urgent issue could put the customer in danger. To date (10/20/20), I have not received an email of resolution as he stated "they'll reach out to you via email shortly". This is also a lack of resolution and follow-through and poor customer service. 2. Putting the customer at risk which could lead to detrimental consequences. I was stuck in the car with the driver on the freeway, not protected by Lyft app reporting services and the ride was not trackable. Should something happen, I could not get out of the car nor seek help in a strange town. If the driver had not taken me to my destination at a negotiated cash price, I would be dropped off in the dark at a location that is not safe while it was raining and cold. 3. Inconvenience and lack of apology: The trip took 40 minutes longer than the initial estimated time of arrival. As a female business traveler who's traveled all-day, I was much inconvenienced and frightened by these circumstances. No one should be subjected to these risks, anxiety, and frustration at any time let alone in unfamiliar territory at evening hours. Actions Requested from Lyft: 1. Refund: A full refund of the trip from the airport to my hotel - $16.75 (lyft receipt) + $25.00 (cash, driver not able to provide receipt). 2. I will NEVER use Lyft again! I took a very expensive ride for $35 on 3/4. They proceeded to charge me again for rides that I NEVER took on 3/6 and 3/8! You would think it would be simple to have nonexistent rides refunded. Not with Lyft! When I emailed them, they asked for "proof" even though I had already sent them my banking statement showing the bogus charges! So, I gave more detailed proof as requested. I get a reply from someone named, Seb. Seb said, "I see this needs to be escalated and researched with another department. We will be in touch at a later date". WHAT?! I took the Lyft from the airport to my retrieve my car from a friends apartment complex. My friend was out of town as well. I was traveling with my 4 year old son and had a large suitcase, a carry on bag, backpack and a carseat. The driver was helpful picking us up which was alarming when he dropped us off at a location that was not the address. He stated he couldn't drive any further because there were no more instructions. I didnt know you had to be instructed to be a decent human being and not leave a woman and her small child in a unsafe location in the almost pitch black (not much lighting in parking areas). I had to walk with my son past 11 buildings to get to my car. He dropped us at the entrance of the apartments and we had to walk to building 11, this was not easy with all I had to carry along with trying to reassure my son we were going to be ok because he was afraid. This complex I was not familiar with (my 2nd time visiting the area) and due to the time of night and lighting I felt very uncomfortable. Thanking God nothing happened to us because we easily could've been a news report with all the crime in Nashville. Even after trying to resolve this with Lyft they said the charge was valid because he left us in the vicinity, really?! I would never leave someone in that type of situation. But on a trip to Nashville I summoned a Lyft to a hotel input which I properly entered for a destination, got a "good deal" prompt ($15 fare) for one driver which I selected, and then met driver when he arrived. Though Lyft is available in Chicago, I'd never been brave enough to try until our Nashville visit. To start, make sure you use the promo code listed to get your first ride free. One of our drivers was even kind enough to tell us that it's one per person, so if you have a friend with a smartphone, you can double up- just create separate accounts. A driver also gave us the pro-tip that with your code, you can tip up to 30% at no cost to you (as long as the fare cost and tip is under the $25 free ride.) Both of our drivers were friendly so we made sure they got the max tip. The app is quick and easy to use for the iPhone. You don't have to worry about learning how to use it. All you have to do is you enter the address you're at and the address where you want to go and you should get a driver pretty quickly. I did notice that the pin/origin address wasn't always dropped at the right location- which is mostly due to location services of the phone and not a shortcoming of the app. Make sure to fix that and enter it manually if needed so the driver knows where to find you. My first time using the app, I didn't realize that until it said our driver was there and no one was around. I just texted the driver to let him know where we were specifically and he was there a few minutes later. We were really happy with how quickly the drivers arrived. We asked one of the drivers how that was possible and he said that he was familiar with the areas that usually requested drivers and he'd sit near there in anticipation of the next call. I would highly recommend Lyft for anyone that's drinking and doesn't want to pay for a cab. We were happy that we got to see all of the popular cocktail bars all over Nashville and not have to deal with who was going to have to stay sober all night.
