The driver said it was 35 dollars to get in the cab when dispatch estimates under 20 and when I said that he called me a bitch and drove off

DO NOT USE THIS CAB COMPANY THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. Took cab 406 Anwar from the Grand Ole Opry, was a pleasant trip. Due to the traffic on Broadway we had him top us off a few blocks away. For $45.00, about 1/2 drive. Then we found out my husband left his phone. We called the phone Anwar answered said he had a fair to call back. We did long story short he said he was 10 mins away from where he dropped us off we can meet but it would cost us $40.00. Now do the math he took advantage of the situation. $45.00 for 1/2 then $40.00 for 10min. I had no problem paying for his time but I don't like being taken advantage. read more

Locks doors on women until they pay inflated fees - drops people off before destination - Checker cab hires foreigners to do independent contract work for them and whats happening is they are violating rules and laws. Do not use Nashville Checker Cab. Company need to be shutdown due to safety concerns and investigated. Some undercover police need to make rides with them. read more

They will NOT take you to your destination and they will up your charge if you pay card. they basically kidnap you and won't let you leave until you pay. and again you won't even be at your destination read more

Do NOT use this company! Especially if you're a woman. Multiple police reports have been filed against these drivers for locking the customers in the cab because the driver thinks they can't pay. read more

SCARY. We took the cab from downtown Jason Alden's bar to east nash (took 6 minutes). The driver said it was $35 and didn't run the meter. When we questioned him he CLOSED AND LOCKED THE DOORS ON US. Extremely scary incident for four young women. We will be filing a police report tomorrow morning. read more

I got had. Jumped into the cab at Layla's downtown and drove 2.2 miles to my home. The guy charged me $35. He did not run the meter and said well that is the cost from downtown to here (2.2 miles near Belmont University!). He said the cab company makes him charge that much. I said, how the hell you not run the meter....he said, thats the way it is. Insane. Dont take a CHECKER CAB if you can avoid it. Crooks all the way! read more

No-show and rude about it! We had an early flight out of BNA and decided it might be safer to schedule a cab than to schedule a ride on Uber or Lyft, and chose Checker Cab because of good reviews. We called late morning the day before to schedule a 4:30am pickup. No cab at 4:30, so I called just to make sure they had us scheduled.The dispatcher said they were working on finding a driver and sending him/her our way. I waited another 10 minutes then called again and the dispatcher, who seemed pissed off to have to talk to me, said they were still trying to find a driver. I asked what that meant in terms of when we could expect a cab and she said "I just said we're trying to find a driver." By that time I'd checked Lyft and confirmed that there were drivers nearby, so I told her to cancel the ride and she promptly hung up on me. I get that times may be tough for cab companies, but have no earthly idea A) why they didn't have a driver secured given that I had given them more than 18 hours notice; B) why they didn't contact me to let me know they didn't have a driver available; C) how the dispatcher would EVER think it was ok to treat me like I was the problem, with no hint of an apology, and then hang up on me. My wife and I made it to the airport just fine, and probably won't be back in Nashville for a while, but based on this experience, I definitely wouldn't ever call Checker again. read more

Loved our taxi driver! He was early and got us to the airport quickly and efficiently. My husband and I prefer riding with taxis because in order to drive, they must have special licenses from the city, they are background checked and are accountable to the company they work fir. It's worth it to me to pay just a little more to have that security. From what I hear, Uber and Lyft have gone up on their prices so who knows, taxis and the other may be the same rates now more or less. read more

We scheduled our cab ahead of time. They were on time, even a few minutes early. Needed a short ride to the airport and it was just a few dollars more expensive than Uber but guaranteed pickup at 5 am which we weren't sure we could get a ride with Uber that early. Would definitely recommend! read more

When I left my phone in the cab, I frantically called the dispatcher who was so kind and sent a message to all of the drivers. Razzao delivered my phone back to my home right away. The cab came quickly but once then twice we had to give the gentleman the address we wanted to go to. We are not from the. Nashville area. We had been told it was not far to the Brentwood area from our hotel near Vanderbilt. Well after 20 minutes we realized he had no idea where to go. He was pleasant but his English was too limited to be driving a cab. We ended using our phone to guide him to the home. Total time...45 minutes for a 15 minutes drive....what a rip off. I called office today but you couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, after holding for 10 minutes I hung up. Get a different cab company! read more

Fantastic. The dispatcher was wonderful as we contacted them for an early morning pick up to the airport. Super nice as we needed a larger vehicle to carry golf clubs. Also, the driver was fantastic. Ordered a cab to Nashville airport for next morning for myself and a co-worker for business travel. Cab did not arrive at scheduled time. I called and was told it was on the way. Waited another 15 minutes, still no cab, so called back. I was then told my reservation should not have been made as there were other clients being serviced. I asked, if I had a ride coming and was told they were "trying" to find someone to come get us. My co-worker ordered an Uber and it was at my residence within 10 minutes. So frustrated! read more

Caught taxi from airport. Tried to give driver directions, but he explained "he was on the phone". When he got to my house, it was raining. I have a covered car port. He didn't even bother to pull in the driveway. He stopped in the middle of the street. I tipped him anyway. He didn't even bother to say thank you. Rude!!!!! read more

I was walking alone carrying 2 bags and an instrument from a bar downtown (where I work as a musician); and I asked the driver to take me 6 blocks and he refused, saying he "wasn't interested." I even told him I'd pay him a lot extra (as I always do) because it wasn't a long trip. I am amazed. Rude, insensitive, unbelievable. read more
