The doctor was amazing for my daughter and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They answered all my questions and I was in and out.

I'll take some responsibility for this because I didn't read the form thoroughly enough that I was given. The receptionist gave me a form that was a check off list. She had highlighted one category in two different categories and told me to check where she had highlighted. Little did I realize that when I checked out I owed them an additional $50.00. I thought it was a misrepresentation and it should not have been presented how it was. During the exam she was disrespectful saying I was taking too long, when what I was doing was trying to focus in or the chart. I did take me longer than average because the final outcome was that I have cataracts and I can't see very well out of one eye. I'd never go back. read more

UPDATE: 10/30/2025 I only went to Lydia Daoud because my regular optometrist was on vacation, and I needed a contact lens prescription before returning to grad school. Unfortunately, that one visit was enough to know I won't ever be back. Lydia Daoud publicly accused me of writing "defamatory" comments while "hiding behind my computer." That reaction alone says everything about her professionalism--or lack thereof. My original review is a truthful account of my personal experience as her patient. During both appointments, I told her clearly that the contacts she prescribed were blurry, uncomfortable, and burned my eyes. Instead of listening or reassessing, she dismissed me and insisted the prescription and fit were fine. A proper optometrist takes time to check vision and comfort with contacts on--not rush a patient out the door in under ten minutes. It's also telling that she chose to attack my review while ignoring other negative ones describing similar experiences. Professional doctors address feedback privately and respectfully. Defensive ones lash out publicly. And for the record, Yelp doesn't "hide" five-star reviews--it filters them automatically. Blaming Yelp instead of taking accountability for patient dissatisfaction is just another deflection. Lastly, since Lydia Daoud used the word "libel," she should know what it means. Libel requires that a statement be false and maliciously intended. Nothing in my review is false. Every detail comes directly from my own appointments and firsthand experiences. A proper optometrist takes the time to check your vision with the contacts on to make sure they fit correctly and that you can see clearly. Dr. Daoud didn't. She had me put them in and immediately told me she disagreed with what I said I needed, even though I've worn contacts for over a decade and know when a prescription is off. The lenses she prescribed were dry, uncomfortable, and made my vision look like I was staring through dirty glass. When I came back to tell her that, she was defensive and rude instead of listening or trying to help. I even brought my glasses prescription from May to compare to the one she wrote me just a few days ago in October -- they were completely different. When I pointed that out, she got even more defensive and insisted she'd "pulled it from Costco's database" and that it was "basically the same." It wasn't. That kind of response is careless and unprofessional. To top it off, she charges extra depending on whether she "has to teach you" how to put in contacts, even though the trial lenses she gives out are free from the manufacturer. The entire setup feels like a scam designed to squeeze extra money out of patients. Her receptionist, Coral, was equally rude -- unhelpful, short-tempered, and tried to charge me for a follow-up that should have been covered. No explanation, no apology, just attitude. Whatever school gave Dr. Daoud her degree should be embarrassed by how she treats people. She has no bedside manner, no professionalism, and no respect for patients' time or experience. Money is hard to earn and harder to come by -- don't waste it here. Go to an optometrist who actually listens, takes their time, and treats you like a patient, not a problem. read more

I went to Costco thinking I would get a great deal on my glasses and contacts like they do for everything else. Huge mistake. They not only over charged me at the visit, they used up all my insurance somehow. I couldn't use my insurance on glasses or contacts even though I had the most expensive VSP plan. I called and it turns out if the office sends them a bill for twice what everyone else does, they have to pay it and it just negates the rest of your coverage. They literally used up my frames and contacts expense for the year!! So to re-cap, they double charged me at the visit (over $100) then they charged my insurance several hundred more. For a simple visit. To top it all off, the listed one single contact brand that no one carries so I can't even use it. Insanity. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. ITS BETTER TO GO THROUGH LIFE BLIND! read more

What to expect from someone who doesn't say "good morning". She could hear me, like I didn't matter. I just needed her to fill out the DMV form... and she wrote that I need to wear glasses to drive. But, I passed the vision test (without glasses). I hope never to see her again. read more

My appointment was at 11:40 AM, I arrived at 11:45 AM because of parking issues, so they allowed two patients to go ahead of me which I wholeheartedly understood. I waited for 30 minutes, and when Dr. Daoud finally examined me, I got a small emergency notification telling me to close my garage door, I kindly asked for 10 seconds so I can quickly press one button and close my garage door, Dr. Daoud blew up on me and said "no you are making me lose time and money, you may step out of my office." Yesterday my mom and I visited Dr. Lydia's office for a recheck because she was experiencing difficulties with the glasses that she had just ordered. She was not happy that we were there. From the moment we walked in the was very "extra" and agitating looking. She thought we were criticizing her work rather than just thinking a patient is having problems with her vision and is back to check and see what is the best to do. She even had to say that I had other patients waiting. So what?? We have already paid for the appointment prior, and you messed up with the numbers and gave a very strong prescription, so now you don't have time? Manage your schedule so you have time for a simple recheck of a patient you gave too strong of a prescription to. She said, "I can't do anything about the fact that your mom is aging." haha, no one asked you to do anything about that just simply do your work. Now I also read other patients' reviews, and with all these 1 stars, I wish I checked it before going to her. Maybe learn how to talk and respect other people politely are they are respecting you cause that's really the base of human interaction. Is negative 5 stars an option? Costco needs to remove this group from Costco. They are the worse company I have ever dealt with. The receptionist is a bitch and told me that everyone associated with my costco card was banned from their services because I complained about my sons prescription being wrong. First of all, she should be banned. My son is a teenager. When he told the dr the prescription was wrong and the glasses gave him a headche she got very angry and asked him to leave. Really? This is how you teat people. Wow! Costco should also be blamed for allowing such a horrible vendor to use the facility. read more

The doctor was great, but I am giving her 1 star for her staff, which reflects poorly on her. We went to visit Dr. Daoud and we're greeted my the rudest receptionist/office aid. I had a question regarding my insurance and she cut me off mid sentence. She then snatched my card from me and shoved it into the credit card reader! I was flabbergasted! Beyond that, I suggested she be more clear with insurance coverage on the website, but thanked her and after I had left the room she had the audacity to yell out of her office at me! I can't even believe I had to experience This and when I complained to the Costco manager she let me know they receive complaints about that young woman constantly. I went in for an eye exam and she is patient, caring, and great at her job. I always need the extra time and dislike when Doctor's flip flop between the lenses quickly. She waits until your eye adjusts and then flip flops the different lenses. I paid top dollar but I wanted every test this time. You don't have to dilate your pupils anymore they have a different machine. She took the time to make sure I could read small print even on the computer. Just explain to her what the problem is and she fixes it. read more

No complaints here. The CSR was very friendly and so was Lydia. Took a bit longer to get the glasses, but all in all a good experience.
