I was looking for a new stylist since mine just wasn't doing it for me anymore. A Facebook group had a post about recommendations for salons and I saw so many people recommend this salon. So I took a shot and never looked back! My stylist is Eva and I absolutely adore her. From the moment I met her, it just felt like we had been friends for years and just clicked! She does such an amazing job and talks to you like a friend; what's not to like about that?! She's very upfront with you. If she doesn't think a color would compliment you, she'll tell you. If she doesn't think your hair can lift to what you're envisioning, she'll tell you. I didn't feel comfortable being super blonde and she was able to work some magic and get me to a blonde that was perfect for me and my skin tone. If you've been thinking about trying this place, just do it. Everyone is super friendly and they always offer you a drink. I've tried all the fancy (expensive!) salons in the heights, montrose & river oaks but then found LX and have never looked back. This is a hidden gem in a dated strip mall, but looks are deceiving. I ALWAYS absolutely love the cuts that Yessie does for me. Most recently I got a wash, deep treatment condition, cut & style for $38 (they had a special offer - always worth asking about any offers when you call & book) but even normal prices are really reasonable. I came here originally for a Groupon a year and a half ago and now only come here! I have had my hair colored here multiple times and am always getting asked where I got it done! A few of my friends have since also came here. I have super thick that is hard to layer without looking choppy but Jasmine always does such a great job! I came here yesterday 5/3/17 to get a deep conditioning treatment. A friend of mine recommended it since we're both blondes and i talked to her about how dry my hair had been feeling lately. This place isn't your fancy, expensive salon located in the middle of your fancy sides of Houston and let me tell you there is nothing wrong with that. This salon is clean, the staff is SO friendly and they treat you with the most respect. They introduce themselves, they offer you something to drink. They are just all around awesome. I got a hair wash (with deep conditioning treatment), trim, and blow dry with Eva. She's the cutest, funniest, nicest little thing!!! She did an amazing job with the trim and the blow dry. There was a girl who prepped me with the hair wash at first because Eva was still busy with a client. I didn't mind at all, I actually like that they got me started instead of just have me wait. I wish I could remember her name because she was really nice! If you want to have a nice chat and laugh while getting your hair done go with Eva. She's an angel! Although I bought the masque to do the deep conditioning treatments at home I will still be coming back to get blow drys. Prices are not bad at all and they even have a Groupon for $35. Yesi and Vanessa worked on my Hair. They did an AMAZING JOB! I seriously Love it! I've had horrible luck with people doing my hair in Houston but I Finally Found My Spot. Normally I would get my hair blown out (straight) and within two hours it would start to curl. It's the second day and still flat, mind you it's raining outside yet it's still silky and none frizzy! So happy! They where both extremely knowledgeable about different kinds of hair and gave me a lot of tips on how I can provide better hair care for myself even with DIY things at home. As far as pricing I would say it's affordable and worth every penny. The place looks nice inside, very welcoming and they offer complimentary waters - a little old looking outside with like Bars on the windows but hey some of the best places look like a hole in the wall. Took about 20mins to walk me through the process and color choices, etc. She answered all of my questions and was very honest about what to expect and what would be best for my hair type. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR COLOR!!! I came here for a major color correction and LX was highly recommended. I'm trying to let my natural color grow out but needed to have the build up of dark color removed. I made an appt with Yessi the owner for a consultation at no charge to me so she could evaluate the strength of my hair and the best plan with least damage. I came back for my appt with Eva to remove the color and then begin the lightening process which is very time consuming and involves a lot of attention to detail. Eva was very conscientious and worked on my hair for 8 hrs! That's how difficult a process it was, most salons would have just bleached it and wrecked my hair. She did a great job and she understood what I wanted and delivered it. Yessi was there the whole time and even though she was busy with her own clients she worked with Eva applying my foils and mixing and whatever else needed to be done. In fact what impressed me the most about this salon was every stylist there pitched in and helped check my processing, rinsing my hair out, cleaning up etc between their own clients. Everyone there cooperated and helped and no drama just great teamwork and appreciation for the job Eva was doing. Chris saved my hair from a terrible set of Supercuts highlights that I did in a pinch and regretted the moment I did it. I came in planning to do full highlights and a cut, and Chris recommended a balayage with a base color more towards my natural, dark blonde, paired with a lighter shade, which created a slight ombre effect. I love it. I cut off a lot, and I felt so comfortable in Chris' hands. Normally I hate going to the salon; it takes forever, the stylists can seem kind of arrogant at times, and you leave with a gaping hole in your wallet. But this was a very different, laid back atmosphere, at a great price level, yet with very talented stylists. I am actually excited to go back. I found LX studio on yelp and used Groupon to get hair cut and treatments and it turned out fine. I asked how much she charges for toning and root touch up and she said 80-100 and that's what I usually pay at my regular salon (around $100) for this kind of service, so I wanted to give a try. I liked hair color, style and shine but owner charged $165 which is far off from her quote. I asked why and she said b/c she used high end product and all depends ounces she used. Common! She is not exactly using Oliplex or keratin products here! You are only using chaep toning / colors which is only $8-$10 a tube!!!! I don't think this was a good business practice and I wouldn't go back again. read more

Place is not old but chairs, decor and equipment are already warned. Flood stains in the ceiling.
