Since this was our first home remodel, we leaned on his advice often--and many of his suggestions ended up shaping our home in the best way. Throughout the entire process, they went above and beyond. Anytime we had a vision, we could call Norman and the team, and they would find a way to bring it to life. Norman would come out, take measurements, and make it happen. We have been putting off writing a review because we wanted to share pictures after completing our backsplash. Neither of us write reviews very often, but this job was such a huge success so we needed to give them props. We are just going to list off what we liked... 1. Our kitchen is larger than a standard kitchen where all the other shops quoted needing 2 slabs to get the job done. Budget was the only shop that recommended using a Jumbo slab for our kitchen which saved us $$. 2. All we had to do is text Ian a picture of our kitchen layout to get a quote. We had a quote that same day. 3. Phone conversations were great! We had some questions about the edges and the free kitchen sink size (30" vs 32") they were including and they were responsive. 4. Easy process to get the ball rolling. All we had to do to get job going was put down 50% of the cost to have measurements done the following week, then they were out installing the countertops 2 weeks after that. 5. They showed up to install when they said they would. We were told installers would show up between 8-9am and they arrived at 8:15am and were done with our install about 4 hours later. 6. Cleanliness was exceptional - they even put cloth down to protect our flooring. 7. Our experience was so great and have been telling our friends about them if they ever need new countertops. 8. We are going to copy and paste this review into Google as well to get the word out. The sub who came was actively uncool but the folks at the office were perfectly fine to deal with. Overall I'd rate their service 7/10, their quality 8/10, and their value 8/10. Unlike most of them, Natalie was so chill and no-pressure as I browsed. I really appreciated that. Because of that, I trusted her with my business and went with her installers as well. Now her installers.. I was so nervous because I just put my faith in them to make 2 slabs work somehow on this large project with a fairly complex sink and faucet set up. They crushed it. What they did is literally a WORK OF ART. The symmetry, the precision. This is the centerpiece of my house now, where everyone likes to gather round. After that honest and quick communication I decided to try again for a repair I needed to a kitchen drawer. This time the response, again fast, was a yes and a time was offered. The service provider called on his way and arrived within the window. He was able to fix the drawer very fast, having time to do some sanding for me afterwards. Unfortunately, this turned into the worst contractor experience we've ever had and we had some ok, bad and really good ones but this is bad. The job was a basic kitchen cabinet painting since our kitchen was solid and good quality doors, originally estimated to take 5-7 days. It's now been over 5 weeks, and not only is the project still unfinished, but our kitchen has been damaged in the process. Key issues: Major delays Sloppy workmanship -- uneven sanding, subpar paint finish Cabinet damage -- we were told by other contractors the only fix is to replace the entire kitchen as they sanded the corners of our cabinets. You can clearly see they sanded so much that corners are rounded now instead of even. Paint spilled on our refrigerator and wine coolers and walls. They did not do a good job of prep and mask work before they began. We paid 50% upfront and have received no professional result. Most concerning of all: we are still waiting to hear from the owner about when they plan to deliver the replacement cabinet doors since they could not do it right, which they damaged and failed to install. This was their way to apologize and make it right. I sent multiple emails and has been over week now with no timeline. I have been holding off to post anything negative about local owners but no responses to my multiple emails left me no choice.

Michael was the sales lead and install lead and was completely upfront, didn't try to upsell on anything and very easy to work with. In fact he told me the initial visit was quick so he could just get a price quote to ensure what I was looking for was a good fit, then he did the detailed measurements to ensure everything would fit like a glove. After negotiating the final contract, then did the final measurements to ensure everything was still correct without any price changes. When the install came, there was one hiccup, yet Michael & Derrick were not only on top of it, they ensured it was resolved promptly! The hiccup was so small I wouldn't have ever noticed it, yet Michael's eye for detail and with full transparency he called me to let me know they hit a snag. I was blown away, nothing was left to "hope I didn't notice" it was completely transparent. In fact when the one drawer with a hiccup was fixed, the team was in and out in a few minutes, just like Michael assured me. This is in a rental unit, so it will get a LOT of hard usage, and I couldn't be more ecstatic with Kitchen Tuneups of Beaverton quality and expertise. Will use them again in a future rental without even trying to bid them out.
